I really enjoyed the concept of the book as a whole. I'm a sucker for a teen being part of a prophecy/ having the importance of saving so many people on their shoulders.

I loved meeting Mander the first time, he had that kind of old-timer done with his job energy just overall a unique villain that you don't really see so that was quite refreshing. I loved the dynamic between Affinity and her aunt the back and forth between them was so realistic (view spoiler)
And Affinity was such a teenager too at some points I loved it (view spoiler)
I do think at some points the book was quite explained, if that makes sense. Affinity would go on these rants in her head and conclude them by saying something along the lines of "of course that's not the whole story," which became a bit annoying. I just feel like I could have had some mystique in a way that wasn't her telling the reader she was omitting info.

Overall I did really enjoy it I think it would've been a staple book for me to re-read if I was a bit younger but yea overall the concept was solid and I never really got bored reading it, if I did then my attention was swiftly snapped back into the book which I liked.

it was nothing special and the main character seemed a little plain to me but i loved the magical feelings it gave! the writing was pretty good too and flowed well.

I was enchanted with this book at the start & loved that the Mander character, who definitely reminded me of a demon from Charmed, was introduced so swiftly.

The story then proceeded with Affinity moving to a new school & having to work on her magic from an old spell book to become a full witch on her 16 birthday! I’m afraid & thought this part of the story was quite boring for me, and I found the conversations between Affinity & Maximilian quite laborious! I also found the Mean Girl too annoying!

Just as I was about to give up, we were back to Mander & I thought it may pick up but no, I had to give up when Mander had a phone that Lucifer had ordered him to get so that he could keep up with Hellagram, Hell’s website!

This book may appeal to the YA audience but it wasn’t for me, sadly.

The Last Wrathwitch is a spellbinding tale of family, friendship and learning to find and accept one’s self.

Affinity is one of the most heart-warming, determined protagonists and I wanted her to succeed with every single page. You can’t help but cheer for her. Every single task, every single triumph, is earned and even when she stumbles and struggles she doesn’t stay down for long. She’s so believable, from her turbulent emotions to how she awkwardly navigates social interactions. I saw myself in her and I loved her.

The supporting cast were fantastic. Every character was memorable and had their own strong voice within the narrative. For me, however, who stole the show was the Gangster Crows. I loved them so much, I could not get enough of those birds. They were perfect and full of so much personality.

The magic system is unique and blends seamlessly into the real world. I’d half expect to walk outside and follow an explosion of ferns and find a witch. The rules of magic built into the worldbuilding are solid and through Affinity’s learning we learn with her, expanding our knowledge and understanding of the world and its witchy ways but we also see in which these rules can be bent and that flexibility is refreshing and exciting.

The Last Wrathwitch is an enchanting read. It must’ve put a spell on me because I couldn’t put it down. I just had to know what happened and before I knew it I’d come to the end of the story. The pacing was perfect, tense moments broken up with bits of humour or friendship and family. The tone maintains a light hearted warmth and humour throughout but knows when to get serious.

I genuinely loved this book and I cannot wait to read more about Affinity’s adventures in the future. Move over Sabrina there’s a new Teenage Witch in town and her name is Affinity Blending.

The Last Wrathwitch is so so good. Loved the story, the plot, the characters were immaculate. I recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good.
