I have read a large number of devotional books, so I was excited to check this one out, even though I am unfamiliar with the author. However, despite the description, this is not a devotional book, at least not in the typical sense that most people would expect. While faith is mentioned, it is not a key part. However, that is not to say this is a bad book. But if you are going into this expecting encouraging devotions centered around a Bible verse, that is not what you will find here. Instead, it is based on topics chosen by the author, along with a journaling prompt, and a motivational statement to go with it.

I do like that book is divided into 100 days, and, like one would expect with a traditional devotional book, each entry does have a title, reading, journaling opportunity, and a "prayer." Again, though, if you are expecting this to be a traditional, faith-based devotional book, you may find yourself disappointed. If you are just looking at it for a bit of encouragement, then it might fit the purpose.

The Pretty Victory: 100 Day Guide to Recenter Yourself and Find Your Purpose by Pretty Vee is a moderately good but not outstanding personal advice/motivational offering.

Despite the publisher's book description, it is NOT a devotional, so if that's what you're looking for, you won't find it here. Though the author does mention her faith from time to time, it is not a consistent theme and there are no Scripture references. Book entries contain the author's chosen topic, a journaling prompt, and end with a Pretty Prayer, which is usually a motivational line.

My thanks to Rodale who allowed me to access a DRC of this book via NetGalley. Publication is 2/11/25. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own and are freely given.

I love reading devotionals! This one is laid out well. Once you read the intro, it is split into 100 days, each with a title, reading, journal space, and a Pretty Prayer. I enjoyed the ‘realness’ shared in this book. It makes it easy to read and connect to. I’m glad that I got an advanced copy of this to look over.
