Sun-kissed sands and sinister secrets. A honeymoon in paradise turns perilous in this riveting seaside mystery.
A tropical vacation transforms into a web of danger and deception when an author and his manuscript vanish. Is his thriller about money laundering in the Caribbean too close to the truth?
With the stakes high and time ticking, Private Investigator Liz Adams and her new husband, Brad, along with their truth-sniffing Labrador, Duke, partner with the local authorities to unravel a multitude of crimes. As they search for clues, the newlyweds explore the delights of the island, including a hunt for buried treasure.
Will they unearth the clues in time, or will the honeymoon end in heartbreak? Set against the backdrop of the stunning island of Grand Cayman, this cozy mystery will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
A good cozy mystery set un the Cayman Islands. Suppose to be on their honeymoon, they end up working to solve a murder of their friend. Good story and characters, and would recommend.
PI Liz Adams and her new husband, Brad are supposed to be honeymooning in the Cayman Islands. Instead, they are trying to uncover the whereabouts of an author who was formerly Brad's business partner, and his manuscript. This cozy mystery had a disappearance, money laundering, and missing treasure. And, in a departure from the norm, local police ask Liz to assist them in the investigation.
I generally enjoy cozy mysteries, but something, or things, seemed off in this one. It seemed strange to fly in the dog sitter with your dog, but for those who can afford a private jet, maybe not so strange. The back and forth of investigating a little, then honeymoon, then investigating some more made for a somewhat plodding pace so that the mystery did not build quickly enough to capture my interest.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
A honeymoon in tropical Grand Cayman becomes a web of danger when the groom's former business partner (and best friend) disappears without a trace. With the stakes high and time ticking, Private Investigator Liz Adams and her new husband, Brad, along with their truth-sniffing Labrador, Duke, partner with the local authorities to unravel a multitude of crimes.
I must confess that I opted to read Cayman Conundrum because of the cover. That black lab is beautiful! Then finding out about his ability to know when someone is lying was the icing on the cake. Not that I didn't love the other dog or the cat, as well!
I realize this book is a cozy mystery but it felt a little choppy and young adult (or younger) to me. Although Cayman Conundrum is the 4th book in the series, it works well as a standalone. It was a quick read and I liked the delicious-sounding recipes at the back of the book!
My thanks to both #WildHawkPress and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of Cayman Conundrum.

A tropical vacation transforms into a web of danger and deception when an author and his manuscript vanish. Is his thriller about money laundering in the Caribbean too close to the truth?! This book was a cozy mystery but with a bit of a bite!! It had suspense, intrigue murder, mystery, a great who done it and a few twists and turns. The story was interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
This was a fun, light and airy mystery. Even though this book is part of a series (Liz Adam's Mystery Series) it can definitely be read as a stand alone.
The setting was gorgeous, and the characters are down to earth and relatable. Also, Duke is the best!
The story has a good balance of happiness and heartbreak and I was so satisfied with the ending.
The little "extras" the author has at the end of the story adds such a great and memorable way to enjoy the story even more. It's so unique and I will definitely be trying at least one of them!
I can't wait for the next one to come out, and Stacy is now officially on my list when I'm wanting a more cozy style mystery!
