Unfortunately, I do not recommend this book.
It was about as dry as day old toast. We read about several of the people who investigated the atrocities perpetrated by the Golden State killer, we read about the survivors, his capture, etc.
Those are gripping topics, each with the material to justify a book on each topic. However, this book is full of only the mundane and mildly interesting details. It jumps around and never stays with any topic long enough to leave an impression.
It's a nice wikipedia article but, as a book focusing on one of the most elusive serial killers of this era, its not worth reading. I am sorry if this sounds mean, I'm not trying to be. I was provided a free copy in exchange for an honest review and this is my honest opinion. Sorry.
I received a free copy of, The Golden State Killer Case. by William Thorp, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. In 2018 police had finally caught the golden state killer, former police officer Joseph DeAngelo Jr. Joseph was hiding in plain sight after committing over 140 burglaries, 50 rapes, and at least 13 murders in California during the 1970 and 1980's. Im so glad they found the killer, so many unsolved cold cases out there. This guy needed to be brought to justice.
This was another winner in the Fifty States of Crime series, it had what I enjoyed from the Alice Grimmins book, it was interesting to learn about this crime. It was written well and worked with the true crime genre. It was just as respectful and glad it left me wanting to read more.
