I'm a sucker for spiritual memoirs, a la Girl Meets God by Lauren F. Winner and English Lessons by Andrea Lucado. It's heartening to feel seen and sympatico with other people on their journey with and toward God. And as a pastor's wife, i'm always compelled by the intricacies of what growing up very intimately involved with the church does to one's faith. Emily's heartfelt book ticks all of those boxes. I loved reading her story.
