This is a sweet story. The plot was a bit predictable, but I really enjoyed the banter between the two MCs. The spy work was a bit dramatic, but it read like an action movie, which helped it be more entertaining, even if it wasn’t super believable.
Later On We’ll Conspire by Kortney Keisel was a hilarious Christmas Rom-Com. This audiobook was engaging and had enough witty humor to make you laugh as the main characters find themselves in the middle of microchip madness that lead them on an adventure neither expected for the holidays. The narration was excellent!
Thank you Dreamscape Select for the opportunity to read and review this cute holiday Rom-Com.
Later On We’ll Conspire by Kortney Keisel is part of the Christmas Escape Series each story can be read as standalone. This book was a reread for me & it just recently came out in audio and let me tell you; if you love audiobooks then I would definitely give this one a listen. I absolutely loved the dual narration. If you are looking for romance, baby reindeer, lots of christmas spirit, and some great plot twists then you will love this one. If you enjoy movies like Knight & Day, Killers, and Mr & Mrs. Smith then will love this book.
This book was decent but I found it really slow and I just didn't connect to the characters as much as I had hoped I would.
I enjoyed this. It was a fun, quick read with a good dose of humor. I liked the mix of espionage and holiday cheer, which made for an entertaining story. Admittedly, I found Park to be a pretty terrible secret agent for most of the book, which added to the humor, but the twist at the end was a nice surprise. If you're in the mood for a lighthearted holiday rom-com with a spy twist, this is worth checking out.
I adore Kortney Keisel's books! This is such a fun holiday story! I did see the twist but this was still a lot of fun to see played out. I loved their interactions and seeing the two try to hide certain things from the other and protect the other as well. Highly recommend the audio book- narrators were so cute and fun!!!
This is James Bond meets a Christmas Story. We have a big tough spy who must get two microchips from two different locations put them together and get them delivered. We have a chemical scientist who is quite a bit of a ditz trying to get over the breakup with her boss. The two end up accidentally coming together and then the spy must follow our chemist around for a while. Turns out he slipped her the microchip to get the chip out of them mall but now we have to get the chip back. This is a love story and it does work. I was not the biggest fan of the readers as I listen to this on audiobook. They weren’t bad readers. They just felt young. Made the characters feel very high school and very ditzy for what is an adult romance novel. This book is steamy not spicy, but it was a fun romp for the holidays.
I loved the plot of this book and there were certainly some fun moments throughout the book. However, the narrators were not my favorite and made it hard to listen to and enjoy. I will be reading this again at some point but will read the physical copy.
This Christmas rom-com is a total romp of unbelievable adventure and silliness. It takes itself just serious enough but not too much. The romance is super sweet and believable, even if the rest isn't. The audio was soo easy to listen to and follow at a high speed. I love this whole series!
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for a #gifted audio to review voluntarily.
Spy and Christmas romance? Need I say more? It's playful, lighthearted, and a bit far-fetched, but with thrilling action truly knows how to craft a one-of-a-kind Christmas romcom! Get ready for a rollercoaster of fun!
this audio was perfect to listen to this time of year for a fun, different holiday romance. I loved the action element of it and Kortney's writing is always phenomenal!
A lighthearted Christmas rom-com. This book was entertaining, even if a little predictable. I enjoyed all the characters but most especially Mary Bradshaw! This book was a lot of fun to read! I always enjoy a split narrative and do I loved how you got to encounter both characters internal monologues as hilarity ensued.
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced electronic version of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This one definitely had me suspending belief. A few times I couldn't suspend it that far!
I loved the banter between the two mains. And it was a fun read. But so much seemed so far fetched that I struggled a little.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape for an ALC in exchange for my honest review.
3.5 rounded up.
A fun, fast-paced holiday romance filled with unexpected twists and sizzling chemistry. Lacee’s Christmas plans go awry when she meets the mysterious Park Bradshaw, who seems to have a few secrets of his own. What starts as a carefree fling quickly turns into a high-stakes adventure, with Lacee unsure whether to trust the man who’s captured her heart. This holiday version of "Die Hard" is packed with suspense, humor, and a touch of romance that will keep readers hooked until the very last page. Perfect for those who love a blend of mystery and festive charm!
This book had a lot going on the whole time. The overall premise of this book is interesting. Park's partner reaches out saying they are in trouble and need help but he can't tell anyone. When he goes to try to help her his mission gets entangled with a woman named Lacee and eventually her Christmas plans. That's a pretty cute plot and honestly a little action with a little romance a little Christmas what a perfect read.
The one element of this book I did not like (*SPOILERS TO COME*) is that we are supposed to be under the impression that Lacee and Park's partner are different people. I felt like that twist was so clear and I wish it wasn't the case because I wanted that to be a bit of a thrilling element to this book. I could tell they tried to hit it because the chapters from Park's partner are made to seem like they are from the outside looking in but it made the chapters feel silly like them asking "why does this random girl have Parks off his game?" when she is intentionally doing things to distract Parks. And he made her hot mess element to her character make a little less sense knowing how planned and calculated she was being.
I would recommend this book to anyone who was interested in a little more from their regular Christmas romance books. Thank youNetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
I liked this okay. It was fun and had humor. It was a fast little read. I liked the agent and espionage aspects of the story and that it was all tied into a holiday story. I will say that for most of the book I thought Park was the worst secret agent ever haha. But I did like the twist. If you want a lighthearted holiday rom com with a spy twist, give it a shot.
I truly enjoyed this book even though I had previously seen mixed reviews. The banter and hilarity had me laughing out loud multiple times throughout the book! I felt this book had a similar vibe to the Stephanie Plum books or the Finley Donovan series; lots of hilarious moments and mishaps. I would definitely recommend this book and read others by this author again.
A perfect addition to your Christmas collection! I loved the story and the twists and turns. The love story was so sweet and well done! Seriously, just loved!!
This story about a cia agent and Lacey(who is supposed to be not connected to the situation), but of course is was a unique listen! It was intriguing to know what would come next, while also having holiday traditions and family thrown in too was fun!
This was a fun holiday romance with a plot that felt new to me. It’s not often that holidays are tied up with heists and spies but this was a fun read that kept me engaged the entire time.
