This book had me kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. I read this book within one day because I wanted to know more about Myles & Hunter’s relationship. The things Myles says within this book will have you swooning. The way he shows up for Hunter 😍. I am obsessed with him. I hope we get a book in the future that delves into the side characters relationships as they are so lovable. I highly recommend this book to those looking for banter and a cozy romance.
Thank you Dawn Anderson, Rooted Publishing LLC, and Netgalley for the ARC copy of this book!
This book is a great Dual POV romcom quick read! It’s about two auctioneer's who are essentially competing for the same auctioneer position. It is given to Hunter, who is the daughter of a cattle auctioneer legend, with Myles being assigned as her ringman. This book is expected to release on November 1st, 2024.

This was such a cute romcom! It definitely had some fast paced and cliche moments, but overall it was an enjoyable read! I didn't know much about auctioneers, ringmen, etc. so it was interesting to get an inside view on it all!
Hunter is an incredible auctioneer. It is tough to follow in your fathers footsteps, but she excels in what she does and starts to make a name for herself.
Myles is such a great man, despite the way he acted in the beginning of the book. He makes you hardcore swoon!
Book boyfriend? Yes! Like I said before, Myles is swoonworthy!!

A solid, toe-curling romance set in an world, this was a quick and easy read.
Set within the high-pressure , male dominated world of auctioneering, it's a new take on the country, small-town romance novel.
Myles, Hunter, JT and Jess don't take long to bed in as characters. The pace is great, the story moves quickly and the character interactions are pretty believable. The chemistry between Hunter and Myles is well-done and presents a reasonable slow-burn to the spicy conclusion.
It's a cozy, low stakes romance with the enemies to lovers trope along with a small cast of characters it's easy to enjoy. There is no third act break up which is really nice. The World Hunter is pulled back to feels a little less solid than the one the novel mainly inhabits, but beyond that it's a good enjoyable read.
Enemies to lovers, dual POV, he falls first. This is a light, easy read with a bit of open door spice. Good chemistry between Hunter and Miles and a great read

Thank you to Dawn Anderson, Rooted Publishing, and NetGalley for this ARC.
Do I know anything about auctions? No. Did I learn more about auctions through this book? Yes! I discovered that there aren't many women auctioneers, and if there's a man involved named Myles, he's probably attractive.
In all seriousness, this book checked all the boxes for me, especially after reading eleven books about tough mafia men. Hunter is stepping out of her father’s shadow while leaving her hometown for various reasons related to family and romantic relationships. Meanwhile, Myles is vying for the new auctioneer position after someone retired, aiming not only to support himself but also to help his mother.
When Hunter arrives for her first day, Myles feels that his job opportunity has been “taken” from him by this beautiful newcomer. Their relationship starts off sour from that meeting, but it evolves into something sweet and caring once Myles has a change of attitude. I loved the chemistry between Hunter and Myles, and the spice was just right!
This is such a great contemporary romance!

The highest bidder was a easy adored read with a hint of spice! I loved the character buildup and banter in this novel.
Myles has always dreamt of being an auctioneer of his own lane hoping to get a spot as his colleagues retires. He has high hopes of the position to be his; that is until they hire Hunter instead. She is the daughter of a famous auctioneer. Because of hiring her he has lost his spot in being that auctioneer with his own lane.
Myles and Hunter become rival coworkers to lovers. It is a he falls first, banter, tension, workplace romance and dual point of views. I enjoyed this short read of a book. The only con of this book is there is DA which should have a trigger warning. Overall this was a pleasant book by Dawn Anderson.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for providing this ARC all opinions are mine.
I had high expectations on this, it is set in the auctionering world, which I had no idea it existed, so i was quite interested to see what was going on there. Honestly, I still don't know what's going on. I understand you can't write a lot about, it would be boring of course, but I still have no clue.
Moving on the plot, there wasn't. I mean, aside from the romance - which was not that bad - the characters - again, not the greatest but not bad either - there was no plot. Everything was very superficial, and some themes and actions were as well.
Overall it was a simple and easy read, but it did not convince me that much.
Thank you @netgalley for providing me the ARC. All opinions are mine.

Chef's freaking kiss 🤌
I ate this book up. Hunter is such a sassy little thing, I officially have a girl crush. I adore Myles, but I am a sucker for a mommas' boy. This was refreshing and different for sure. I never would have thought I'd enjoy a book about rival auctioneers. It was intriguing to be in their world. The epilogue gave me everything I wanted for both our main couple and the side characters, who I was also obsessed with.
Excited to see what this author brings us in the future!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
3 stars!!
I thought the premise of this book was so creative! A female auctioneer and a ringman fall in love in this comedic and spicy grumpy sunshine debut! I loved how the characters transitioned from bickering rivals to respected individuals as they got to know each other better. NICKNAMES SHOULD ALWAYS EXIST! I loved Myles' nickname for Hunter and how he ALWAYS called her by it. The inner monologues from both characters felt real and I liked figuring the characters out through their thoughts. Text messages in books are gold! I love reading about text messages and phone calls because that is the society we live in so much of our communication in the beginning of a relationship is through technology. This debut was so cute and fast paced! This book was funny, tender, and creative!
Thank you NetGalley and Dawn Anderson for this eARC!
I truly adored everything about this book - the banter, the jobs of the characters, he falls first and HARD, and the best trope of all, NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP.
This book was fast paced and the spice was perfect. It is a slow burn but it is worth it! The MMC falls hard and fast for our heroine and he truly is the knight in shining armor coming to her rescue at the last minute!
Our heroine is a strong person who truly didn't need a man to make her happy, but she found her match and realized that life can be better with a partner by her side.
I truly truly loved this book and I can't rate it high enough!
Sweet and nice - and oh with spice!
A esay and quick read with lot's for tension and great banter!
I loved this book. 4.5 stars. It was a quick read but it had everything you would need in it a little sprinkle of spice, good banter, fun best friends (that we need another book about) , work place tension, grumpy mmc turned golden retriever, strong fmc, it did mention some domestic abuse so trigger warning on that but nothing horrible.
Nothing gets me quite like when the guys comes in and saves the day at the perfect moment. Knight in shining armor! I love how the mmc and the dad team up and save the day. It makes me sad that her relationship with her mother is so strained but it goes in the right direction by the end. Glad you wrote it that way and didn’t just leave it in a bad way.
Now the best friends… LOVE THEM! Need more of them! They both have personalities for days and I’m here for it! Also. Nickelback…. Seriously. That is the most perfect addition to this book. He was low key my favorite character. We don’t deserve dogs they have the best hearts and you told it so well in this book.
Thanks for letting me ARC read this @NetGalley
Highest Bidder by Dawn Anderson is the perfect fast and spicy romance for a weekend read. Anderson's work is the first book I've read set in the world of auctioneers. When Hunter Smith rolls in from out of town and 'steals' the auctioneer job Myles Johnson has been waiting for, Myles struggles between wanting to hate the new girl in town and his attraction to her. Highest Bidder is funny and steamymaking it a great rom-com.
Thank you NetGalley and Rooted Publishing LLC for a copy of this great read in exchange for my honest review.
This book was a fantastic, quick read with a fun romcom vibe and some delightful open door spice. I absolutely loved the chemistry and the playful banter between Hunter and Myles. It was a refreshing change from my usual reads, and I found myself genuinely intrigued by the world of auctioneering. The author did an amazing job, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted romance!
Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC.
Started this book after dinner and I flew through it. Now it's way past my bed time and I finally finished it.
Myles' been vying for the auctioneer position but he got passed up since the position went to Hunter, an out-towner daughter of a world-famous auctioneer and it rubbed him the wrong way. As they work together, it seems that they developed attraction to one another.
I applied for an ARC since I was intrigued by their jobs, because it's unique for me and the premise was very simple and cute. One, I didn't expect to read this in one-sitting. I was just vibing with the book, and it's so fast-paced that I lost precious sleep time over it. No regrets! Second, I think this is the case of right book, right time because I was just in a mood for something light, fluffy and sweet and this book delivered everything and more.
I love our main characters individually, and together. They both dealt with a bad past but that doesn't made them a bad person. It was so straight to the point and very fun to read. I love how they were both adults about their relationship and how they communicate with each other.
I usually don't like courting stage or them being together in a book, but I honestly didn't mind with this book. It was great, the banter and tension delivered!
Overall, I had a fun time and a great night reading this book.
A great debut novel from Dawn Anderson. Highest Bidder gives all the fun rom com feels.
Hunter and Myles have the best banter and flirting. This quick read never felt rushed and their relationship developed so naturally.
The rivals to lovers was done so perfectly here where it wasn't drawn out. If you love an mc who falls first Myles is for you.
I loved the introductions to all the side characters. Hoping to see more from this author soon (a JT and Jesse book?)
5⭐️
I was lucky enough to receive an early ARC copy of this book and boy did it not disappoint! I was hooked from the beginning. This book was everything I needed and more. The chemistry between Myles and Hunter was outstanding! Everything about this book was amazing! It was so interesting reading about both main characters being an auctioneer! I had not read a book about this before so I learnt quite a bit. I highly recommend this book. It is being published on the 1st of November!

Dawn if you are reading this, pleaseeeeeee come out with a book about JT or Jess (or even both together) 😏
Hunter Smith is no stranger to the auctioneering world. Her father is a famous auctioneer for cattle, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t a force in her own right. Myles Johnson has worked his way up from the bottom in the auctioning business. Now is finally his chance to run his own line. Until an auctioneering nepo baby rolls into town and takes the spot he has been waiting for. The pair starts off on the wrong foot. Will they be able to make amends and more?
This book had all of the trappings of a classic rom-com. There was a close-knit group of friends and a niche community. This was the first book I have read that involved the auctioneering business. It did a good job at explaining how the roles worked. I didn’t feel lost at any point when the book got more technical. I had issues with the pacing of the book. The story went by quickly in the beginning when Hunter and Myles weren’t spending a lot of time together. Then it slowed down significantly when they started spending more time together. It was a bit difficult to get through at that point due to the repetitiveness of each of their inner monologues. I was also confused by the differences in Hunter’s character at the beginning of the book compared to the middle/end. She was so confident and self-assured at the beginning of the book, but was way more shy in the middle/end. I ended up attributing this to her comfortability with Myles the closer they got. I enjoyed Hunter and Myles together. They showed their support for each other in every way they could. I am also so glad the story wasn’t one where the woman sacrificed to be with her partner. Overall, it was an enjoyable book. I recommend this book to rom-com fans who are looking for a short read about an interesting community.
Myles, Myles, Myles 🤭
I do love a nice rom com that’s filled with flirting and giggling. I knew I was going to enjoy this book from the first few pages.
Dual POV gets me every time so I was loving the switch between Myles and Hunter. I liked that it was a natural development between them and it wasn’t rushed.
I enjoyed all the side characters even Myles’ mother. She was such a sweetheart! I would love to see a JT book. He was a fun character as well. I was engaged all throughout this book.

A very different premise to any book I’ve read before. Out of all the cowboys, sports and office romances, competing auctioneers was a refreshing change.
Myles has waited for the opportunity to become an auctioneer of his own lane, and as a colleague retires, the possibility becomes more likely. That is, until they hire Hunter, the prodigal daughter of world-famous auctioneer and his opportunity is lost.
Myles and Hunter have to navigate their new working relationship whilst Myles is harboring bitter feelings towards the woman who has stolen his job. But close proximity is a hell of a trope, and the competition quickly becomes less of a rivalry and more of an attraction.
This was a fast-paced, easy read. There was no slow burn, which I’m grateful for as the main characters admit the inevitable sooner rather than later.
As much as I enjoyed it, it felt more like a quick pallet cleanser before moving onto other heavier reads. The plot isn’t very intense, as there aren’t very memorable events that happen. Although, there is a small storyline of violence against women that should come with a trigger warning.
Myles is almost a Prince Charming style character, swooping in to save the day. He’s honest and open, which prevents the whole “just tell her!!!!” plot that usually drives me insane.
I feel like I may have enjoyed this book more if I knew about their line of work. But I was clueless, so I mainly stuck around for the romance, which I can’t complain about. It was done well, and quickly, which I appreciate.
However, there wasn’t a lot else that would have kept me interested. It’s light-hearted more than anything and if you’re looking for something that you don’t have to concentrate hard on whilst reading, this is probably the ideal read for you.
