Kiah Thomas’s The Hidden Forest is a compelling continuation of The Callers, deepening the story’s themes of power, responsibility, and environmental impact. The alternating perspectives between Quin and Davinia add complexity, showing both sides of the struggle—those fighting for change and those resisting it. The stakes feel even higher as Quin and Allie race to save Evantra, while Davinia grapples with her own shifting loyalties.
The world-building remains immersive, and the pacing keeps the story engaging. Thomas does an excellent job of weaving in important themes without sacrificing the adventure and excitement. With strong character development and a thought-provoking narrative, The Hidden Forest is a worthy sequel that leaves readers eager for what’s next.

Return to the world of the Callers in this exciting middle-grade fantasy series that explores the amazing power of summoning objects into being and the ominous consequences of doing so. Perfect for fans of Rick Riordan. I enjoy this book and I am a huge fans of Rick, too.
