Although NOS4R2 is one of my favourite horror books of all time, I unfortunately could not get this book to download.

I have by now been able to purchase the book but it's nowhere near as good as the novel. Seems like a lazy cash in on the popularity of the original.

The Wraith is a graphic novel standalone miniseries following up on more of Charlie Manx's evil Christmas adventures from the bestseller NOS4A2. Okay, so I kind of ended up reading these backwards and then forgot to review The Wraith. As it turns out, this comic was my introduction to the world of NOS4A2 and the second thing I had ever read by Joe Hill. I enjoyed the story, it was more of Charlie's backstory and how he ended up in Christmasland, him kidnapping more adults (this time some prison escapees), and a bigger tour of Christmasland. At times the dialogue is unforgivably cheesy and unrealistic, but overall it's a fun story for anyone who is already a fan of Joe Hill, or maybe just someone who really likes Christmas-themed horror? To end, here is a list of things I noticed that I loved from this comic: the moon, the entrance to Christmasland (giant snow bears! Blocks of snow that spell out D-I-E! Possessed-looking reindeer! A Christmas tree with decapitated heads as ornaments!), creepy ass kids, the petting zoo and top-down scene of the labyrinth with all the details, and the origin story of one of the characters that serves as an epilogue. The book also contains variant covers and an art gallery, and I particularly liked the advent calendar cover and the Hip-Hip-Snowray! cover as it features more of the theme park's attractions.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated in any other fashion for the review and the opinions reflected below are entirely my own. Special thanks to the publisher and author for providing the copy.

Who doesn’t love Joe Hill??? Loved this book and loved the story and the characters. I found myself unable to put it down and read it in one sitting.
