This is going to take a moment for me to find a way to truly articulate how special this look is. Because in all honesty, I have never experienced anything like it. This story is a love letter to both grief and love, to friendship and oneself. Peyton Corinne's ability to encapsulate each of these topics in their entirety, side by side, was magnificent.

Rosalie represents so many women, her story is one that too many have lived through in their reality. There is a heartbreaking beauty in watching her journey from start to finish. Seeing her in a relationship that is emotionally abusive, one that has chipped away at herself to a point that she feels unrecognizable to who she once was, with a person who never truly knew her...never loved her. Too many people have gone on a journey that mirrors Ro's, and what a gift it is to heal through her experience, through her words and growth. Through her rediscovery of self love, and romantic love. Ro is one of the strongest fmcs that I have had the pleasure of meeting, and I will never forget her. Her story is so much more than I ever could have expected, and yet it is so inherently her. Every word, whether it be verbal or internal dialogue, was one of the most relatable and beautiful representations of women that I have read in fiction. She is so, so special. I will always hold her close to my heart.

Matty, our beautiful scarred soul. His story is one that takes us along a journey of grief. It is something that ties so many of us together, in the most heartbreaking of ways. There are not many people who are able to truly depict what it feels like to grieve, in a way that feels true to my personal experiences; I am thankful to have found a new author who has the ability to handle this heavy, delicate topic with grace and care. It can be extremely difficult to express one's feelings in grief, but this story helped me feel seen, and I am forever thankful. Freddy is a character unlike any other I have read, especially in an mmc. His softness is something that feels so raw, so vulnerable it bleeds from each page. His experiences created tears in my heart time and again, but by the end they were scarred, cared for, and healed. His discovery of love, true love was everything to me. And it was more than just romantic love, it was love in its entirety: familial love, platonic love, intimate love, romantic love, and self love. He is such a complex character, and watching his growth from his beginning in Unsteady was one of my favorites I have ever read. I will always have a place in my heart for Matt.

Ro and Freddy's relationship was perfect because of their imperfections. Their relationship began as a friendship, creating a foundation of trust and loyalty that neither of them had experienced in that way before. They were both suffering, in different ways that led them to the same place, each other. There were more tears for me in this book than I have experienced in a months from a novel. Their healing healed me in so many ways, and I know that so many readers will feel the same when following along on their journey. They needed each other, they showed each other that there are better days ahead of the bad ones, and that they are never alone. They always held space for each other, especially when they couldn't ask for it themselves. They were attuned to each other at a soul level, and they have become one of my favorite couples of all time because of it. They healed each other, while also learning to heal themselves in the process. Their love was selfless, honest, and true. It was vulnerable, soft, and all-consuming. They are the definition of soulmates.

I hope that everyone will take something from this story, because I have taken so much. I will hold this book close to me always, and I will never forget what it felt like to read their story for the first time. What a special, important book to exist in this world. I am forever thankful, and I will always recommend this book. I know that this will hold a place in my favorite books of all time, because it almost feels like magic to be affected the way I have been from this story. What a gift it was to experience this, and to go on my own journey alongside them. Thank you Peyton Corinne for creating this masterpiece, I am in awe.

another absolute winner from peyton. like ‘unsteady’, i read this entire book in one sitting. peyton really knows how to write a book you never want to put down, and one that once you finish it you’re aching to read it again. her writing's got this real nice authenticity in it that makes you feel part of these characters lives, even if you don't relate to any of them (which wasn't my case at all. i am ro. ro is me. i too feel like no one really actually likes me no matter how hard i try. if you're like this" it's all in your head. it's hard to crawl out of there, but you'll feel like you can breathe one day. i promise.). if you love stories about two people who feel lonely because they can't bear to burden anyone with who they truly are finding solace in each other, this is your book. this is The book. 

this book is every bit of heart, reminiscent to peyton's first book; she always writes with her entire being and i am so in love with her brain and so in awe of her vulnerability. also might need to check if she put cameras in my house because reading about ro felt like looking in my own windows (alexa play i look in people's windows by taylor swift). 

and matty, my sweet, sweet matty </3 love of my life. a real loverboy if you Get It. a character who is so desperate to be liked, to be seen as valuable, they extend and stretch themselves more than they're comfortable just to feel needed... a character who judges their worth based on what they're able to do for other people, a character who wants to feel needed but feels like they aren't allowed to need anyone... oh! well. alright. thank you, peyton. i'm feeling a little sick actually <3 lol <3

Freddy and Ro have my whole heart!

To maintain hockey eligibility, flirty player Freddy needs a new tutor and the more reserved yet sunshiny Ro steps in. Even though she’s had an on-again, off-again boyfriend, Ro has crushed on Freddy since freshman year.

Beneath the smiles, blushes, and good times, both characters crave friendship and love and are shielding some very tough experiences. Freddy and Ro find comfort in each other as friends, but their attraction eventually blurs that line. I love how they are consistently there for each other and protect one another.

Unloved is an emotional read that touches on grief and portrays gaslighting. Even though I teared up a few times, my heart felt so happy and whole at the end. And though it’s angsty, I smiled, kicked my feet, and giggled a bunch! I will absolutely recommend this book to others!

this book is everything. it was so good and raw and real i just want to re read it over and over again. if i could give more than 5 stars i would.

unloved transported me on a unique voyage through the mending of the souls of to broken people, rosalie and freddy, who find solace in each other and become each other’s anchors. after a lifetime of being met short, these two learn how to forgive themselves and learn how to trust unequivocally.

i was extremely moved, brought to tears and giggled/ swooned several times throughout this entire book. ro and freddy reached deep into my heart and pushed me to confront my fears, my people pleaser tendencies, but most importantly, my grief.

i fell in love with peyton’s writing through unsteady because of her mastered art of writing about vulnerability and mental health. i find it so beautiful how peyton focuses on establishing strong male characters with mental health issues! it is so refreshing to see in a world full of toxic masculinity. matty embodied rawness, healing and selflessness like i’ve never seen it before and he is such a role model. ro equally showcased beauty, grace and the power of finding yourself and your voice when rightfully supported.

grief is so important to me in books, and unloved depicted it as something both heartbreaking and beautiful, like the passing of seasons, the development of a natural force to move through all storms!

i urge you all to read this book!! you won’t regret it, it’s a ride of a lifetime!!

I read Unsteady a couple months ago, I loved it, so I was super excited for Unloved. The rollercoaster of emotions that this book put me through, I absolutely loved it though. Ro and Matty were the absolute sweetest, they’ve both been through so much, finding comfort in each other.

Matty has learning disabilities, he struggles to keep his grades up. Ro becomes his tutor, also becoming a close friend. Their friendship was so beautiful, these two were so perfect together. Ro is treated badly by her on again and off again boyfriend, she has low self esteem because of this. Matty is known as a playboy, he feels like he’s only wanted for his body and a good time. He’s so much more than this, the character growth both characters had was beautiful 🥹

Yeah, not a fan.

I just couldn’t get in to it.

The characters were boring and there was just too much talking. I wanted more plot than what I got from this. I don’t expect a lot from romance novels, but this really disappointed.

This book was everything!!!!🩷🩷 I had high expectations after the first book, where we met Rhys, Sadie, and the entire group, but this one truly touched my heart. I was particularly drawn to the continuation of Matt and Ro’s relationship and the deepening of their connection & also enjoyed how they addressed the challenges they faced together.

There were many aspects of the story that I appreciated, especially the unwavering support and love that Matt and Ro showed for each other throughout their journey. I believe this is one of the best friends-to-lovers and second chances stories I’ve ever read!!!😭🩷🩷

To put it simply, I loved this book and it made a lasting impact on me. I related to Rosalie so much in her journey of getting out of an emotionally abusive relationship with a narcissistic person. The way that she handled her self love journey, learned to forgive herself and erase any guilt or embarrassment for how she felt was inspiring. I truly feel like a part of me was healed reading the story of Rosalie becoming herself again.

Next we have Matty who is just the sweetest guy. His journey of grief and learning that he is worth love broke my heart. He always seemed happy and carefree but underneath the surface he was struggling more than anyone knew.

I love how their relationship started out as friends and despite there being obvious chemistry between them they built a solid foundation on an emotional connection before the physical.The emotional depth in this book and the way it handled grief and insecurity was very well written. It was the perfect slow burn that showcased how pure and innocent their love was for one another. The ending line of the epilogue summed up their story best. They created a home overflowing with love, something neither of them thought they were worthy of until they found each other.

WOW. I am not always a friends-to-lovers fan - but Freddy & Ro’s relationship changed my whole mindset.

School has not been Freddy’s forte due to his dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. Lucky for him Ro is one of the best tutors, if not the best, at school. Their working relationship quickly turns into a friendship that neither could imagine.

I don’t think that I’ve ever been so invested in a friends-to-lovers story, but Ro & Freddy are the definition of soulmates. I love that they are each other’s biggest supporter and would do anything to help the other succeed. Their chemistry together is off the charts and helps to challenge the core belief that they are unloved.

If you also are a sucker for emotion-filled, sports romances with well-developed characters then Unloved is definitely worth a read!

Peyton Corrine has such a talent for writing stories that not only captivate you but also feature characters with real depth and complexity. I was a little nervous going into Unloved, mostly because Unsteady was one of my absolute favorite reads of 2023, and I still recommend it to anyone looking for a great story. But Unloved completely eased my worries—it was just as incredible, if not more so. The relationship between Ro and Freddy was beautifully written, with so much emotional depth and complexity that I found myself completely immersed in their journey. I loved every moment of it. Peyton has a way of making the characters feel so real, and their struggles and growth are so authentic. I truly couldn’t put it down, and now I’m eagerly awaiting what she has in store next. If you’re a fan of stories with heart, depth, and unforgettable characters, this is a must-read.

I actually have not read the first book and neither did I know that there was a book 1 until after I finished reading this one. I def think I need to go back and read Unsteady now - I think that's the name of the book.

But this installment really pulled at my heartstrings. I loved seeing how Matt and Ro's story continued, and the way their relationship deepened as they faced their challenges together. There were so many things I enjoyed about this story, especially how Matt and Ro supported each other through everything. I truly think this is the best friends-to-lovers and second-chance romance I've ever read. In short, Miss Corinne could write anything, and I’d be all in. This is a must-read for any romance fan, especially those who love sports romance or just appreciate beautiful, heartfelt tales!

Unloved is EASILY one of my top 5 romance books of all time, and by far my favorite hockey romance. The way the romance between Ro and Freddy was woven so beautifully within the themes of grief, self confidence, and friendship was so beautiful and captivating. I absolutely adore the way Ro and Freddy learn how to be there for each other, and they are the perfect example of an incredible friendship turned relationship. The pacing was perfect, and the conflicts sprinkled in built the story so perfectly, and I was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time!

I will without a doubt be recommending this book to everyone I know, and I'm so so excited for the world to get to see this book!

This book touched me deeply, and it will stay with me for a long time. While I adored the romance here, which is so tender and soft and everything I want from a romance, it was Ro’s experience during (and healing from) a toxic relationship that really grabbed my heart. It was so realistically rendered — I recognized the patterns from my own experience — and I appreciate that the particulars weren’t glossed over or simplified or watered down. This book was healing to read, and I have been recommending it to everyone! I can’t wait to experience it all over again via the audio. Thanks to Atria and NetGalley for the ARC!

The friends to lovers trope was done so well in the book and Ro and Matty's love story was so heartwarming. I love them.

I feel like we need to protect Ro at all costs because she is such an amazing person who has been treated so horribly when she did not deserve it at all. Especially from a man who seems to be overcompensating for something (this wasn't technically said, but it seems pretty obvious). I love the detail in her character about getting her fashion style back. Wearing what she feels comfortable with, and not caring what anyone thinks about it anymore. And one of her signature accessories being her hair clips and bows was just so cute and honestly made me want to start wearing them more often!

We also need to protect Matty, the cutest golden retriever ever!! His journey throughout this book was so amazing to see. I love the growth he has, especially in letting others in, and to stop self-sabotaging. I also love that he was so down bad for Ro from the first (even though it was technically second) time he saw her. And he still respected her relationship with Tyler and that she needed to work through he feelings with them

I also want to say I hate Ro's ex Tyler. I am so proud of Matty for not killing him because oh my god that guy sucked. I was so glad Matty was there to help her and support her through everything. And I love the fact that he helped to heal her wounds from that previous relationship.

And the fact that they had kissed freshman year even though he didn't remember, and then her saying 'I think you'd be very easy to love' (which made me start sobbing) and not remembering, supports my thesis of them being extremely invisible string coded.

Do you expect anything less than perfection when reading a Peyton Corinne novel? From the eye-catching cover to the angsty and emotional writing to the endearing characters, everything about ‘Unloved’ truly lived up to all my expectations. Peyton beautifully weaves Ro and Freddy’s story, delving into themes of grief, love, and the power of vulnerability that feels refreshing and real.

Ro felt like a truly relatable character, and I appreciated her soft-hearted personality. As a hopeless romanic and all-around girlie girl, she is so much stronger than she lets on. Her patience, nurturing spirit, and resiliency is truly endearing. Behind his hockey extraordinaire and playboy persona, Freddy is struggling to balance grief and maintain his GPA due to learning disabilities (dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD). His backstory is heartbreaking and as someone who is vulnerable with his feelings, he just wanted to love and to be loved by someone. I loved his growth and healing journey with not just himself, but with Archer (iykyk).

I truly believed that the phrase “to be loved is to be seen” perfectly captured their relationship from acquaintances to friends and eventually to lovers. Their relationship doesn’t feel rushed or forced, allowing them to build a foundation of mutual trust and respect before love begins to set in. They have the type of love where it’s so gentle and precious, yet so consuming and heartfelt. As each other’s advocates, they bring each other the happiness, comfort, and love that they’ve both longed for. Safe to say, it’s so easy to fall in love with both Ro and Freddy.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! Freddie and Ro were such a great couple, and I truly loved their story. It made me really sad, but at the same time, it was super nice to see those emotions represented in a book of this caliber. I felt like I could relate to both of them separately, and together as a couple as well. I really do love a college romance - that part of life is so transformative, so emotional, and so tough, it's so nice to see two people who found each other help each other through those moments.

Peyton has done it once again in the next installment of the Undone series! I didn't think anything could top the first book where we meet Rhys and Sadie, and the whole group. But this one truly tugged at my heart strings. I loved seeing the continuation of Matt and Ro in this book, and the deeper connection of their relationship, as well as how they tackled the issues in their relationship.
