Thank you Peyton and netgalley for the e-arc
Hello world, cuz o think I have just fallen in love with the peyton-verse.
This book is my first read of 2025, and it’s already this goood. I don’t know and don’t think any other book is gonna top this ( and by far the best book I’ve read so farrrrrr)
Roy and Matty are the definite saying of “ going through thick and thin” type of love. The description of their love is so pure and wholesome. I cried throughout the whole book. This book is not just a romance book with fluffy love, it’s a book that talks about tramas from the past, feelings of not meeting others’ needs, and the path leading to one’s true self.
Honestly, I feel like this book is for all the girlies/ boys out there who’s always chasing to be the “ perfect” model for someone else. We tried to reach for the ultimate star, but are left tired and stranded each time. There is no end goal, only better aims. We somehow lost ourselves throughout the way of meeting other people’s needs. Why chase them? The right people will appreciate you just the way you are, and they will not change you, but embrace you with love and compassion, just like how Rory and matty take care of each other.

📗Unloved by Peyton Corrine

⭐️Hockey Player/Tutor

⭐️Friends to Lovers

This is the first Peyton Corrine book I have read and I will be going back and immediately reading Unsteady and all of her books from here on out! Ro and Matty are two of the sweetest characters who both have so much depth and emotional maturity. Watching them fall in love and help each other heal was addictive! I finished this book so fast, their love was so perfect, even if they weren’t.

Sweet and spicy and as always an intelligent FMC who becomes a strong badass woman, my favorites!! And an emotionally intelligent, sensitive, hot man?? Yes please!

Thank you to NetGalley, Atria Books and Peyton Corinne for this ARC. Be sure to pick up Unloved on February 4! 🏒

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of this book! Oh my perfect little babies! I was highly anticipating this book because of how much I LOVED unsteady and I was not disappointed. The journeys and growth that both the characters go through is so so beautiful and feels really genuine and real. I literally stayed up and read half of the book immediately. I fell in love with both Ro and Freddy and just want to give them both a hug. They both deserve so much better than what they got. But genuinely I adored this book and cannot wait to see what else this author puts out!

The moment I saw this arc available on netgalley I knew I needed to try for it. I pretty much shed tears when I was approved. I LOVED UNSTEADY. Rhys and Sadie’s story held such weight in my heart, when I saw the news of Freddy and Ro getting a book, I was sold.

A FIVE STAR READ EASILY! THIS BOOK! THE YEARNING! This book is my favorite read of the year so far. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I KICKED MY FEET! This was a rollercoaster of emotions in the best way. Freddy’s need to be shown he was worth it and Ro’s need to be accepted for who she is. To be seen, feel safe, and feel loved. I don’t usually like friends to lovers much but this might’ve changed my view on the trope entirely. These two souls found each other and complimented one another so fiercely. Gorgeously written and so pure. This was beautiful. Matty rebuilding Ro’s confidence that was torn to shreds by her narcissistic a**hole of an ex and Ro being the fierce protector that showed Matty his worth? CHEF’S KISS. Peyton Corinne, you did it again!

I am so hopeful for a book on Bennett and Toren! It’s a NEED at this point. 😊

Matty: There are simply not enough words out there to describe my love for this character. My word. I’ve never wanted to hug a character so much before. This sweet lover boy… He immediately watched her favorite movie just because? Learned her coffee order after she mentioned it ONCE! Her ex didn’t even know it and he was with her for years?! Keeps a mental list of things that keep a smile on her face. Loved her fashion. Loved that she was irrevocably HERSELF no matter what anyone said to her. Took her to a romance book shop and prepaid for her books. Took her ice skating. Her list of firsts was so important to him too. He is so sweet, caring, and the YEARNING! The second he tied Ro’s hair up with his shoelace I was a goner. *swoons*

“No one, since my mother, has defended me so fiercely. I think I’m in love with her - not even romantically, but on some soul level. I feel devoted to her.”

“In my dreams, I take care of you the way you take care of other people, and you’re relaxed and calm. And before bed, you tell me how easy it is to love me. I’m starting to think I’d give up anything, even hockey, for that life with you.”

With or without the sex. With or without the hockey. She thinks I’m smart and kind and a good person. And as had as it is to admit, she’s the first one to really see me like that.

Rosalie: She was the sweetest thing ever and just what Matty needed. Sweet, pure, kind, protective. The people pleaser she is, the love she holds for everyone close to her it spoke volumes. One of the first female characters in a book that I could really see pieces of myself in her. Such a hopeless romantic and a book girlie complete with hairbows and butterfly clips. Her dedication to Matty’s success 100/10! So darn sweet. Her need to be seen and loved and feel safe and accepted was so raw and real.

“Signed Matty—not Freddy. He’s mine, in that way.”

“I think you’d be really easy to love.”

“I’d lived entire lives, thousands of them, in books. and part of me always imagined what falling in love would feel like”

Ro is a a girl who has always been the good at school and always plays it safe! Matt is your adorable hockey player that all the girls want! They had a moment together at a party two years ago but now flash forward to the present and Ro is Matt’s tutor! The sexual tension they have between them oh my🥵🥵🥵!!! But the compassion is even greater! How protective Ro is over Matt and is learning challenges! Also, Matt seeing how emotionally abusive Tyler (Ro’s on & off Boyfriend) and wanting to protect her is just so heartfelt!

Unloved by Peyton Corinne is a college romance that centers around hockey left winger Matt Fedderic and barista Rosalie Shariff.

I had high hopes for this because after reading her previous works, I loved her writing and characters, but this book was not for me.

This book felt like being on a roller coaster that never ended. The reason for this is because there was so much back and forth between the characters that was distracting. There’s also the fact that Rosalie, the fmc, did get on my nerves at some points because she could not just make up her mind regarding, Matt, the mmc.

Don’t get me wrong though the tropes in this were all amazing. And there were some wholesome moments that I found myself swooning over.

Overall, this book fell short of my expectations, but if you’re looking for a book with a college setting and a tutor x athlete trope, then this might be for you!

All I can say is wow. Peyton Corrine has become one of my new favorite authors. She puts so much thought and real feelings into her characters. I related so much to Ro and what she went through. This book had me laughing and crying and it was just pure gold. If you haven’t read anything by Peyton Corrine yet I highly suggest you do!

I enjoyed this one so much! I don't like to compare books, but this reminded me of another college hockey romance, however this series had a more mature approach and for that I DEVOURED it. Going into it, I didn't read the tropes and didn't realize it was a slow burn, because this was so well written I didn't even mind. The story and the developing relationship between the MCs was so consuming, I wasn't focused on the spice. I am now invested in the series and cannot wait to see what's in store for Bennett and the rest of the team, especially Toren. Would love to see a novella about Archer because I couldn't help but wonder about the relationship between him and Matt's mother.

Peyton has this incredible way of luring you in with a good start, shattering your heart, and then putting it back together. This one was especially gut wrenching for me (fellow dead dad club member) but the depictions of grief and feeling that grief, getting through it. They were so good, done so well.

now i know why this chunk of a book contains 400+ pages...

each chapter has short pages in it, so it is easy to read. and this is the most emotional book in the series (i know that this series focuses on serious topics, even though i haven't read the first book). the found family trope got me weeping (especially matt's). and the chemistry between ro and matt from strangers to friends to lovers is 🤌🏻

now that i've finished ro and matt's story, i'll finally read (or listen) to sadie and rhys story (but of course, this not the time to read this though.)

I received an eARC for Unloved, in which I started and finished the book in the same day. I love how Ro and Freddy call each other Rosalie and Matty when no one else calls them their special names. Peyton Corinne exceeded my expectations in The Undone #2! I was rooting for Ro and Freddy from day one. Freddy has ADHD, dyscalculia, and dyslexia. Ro is his tutor.

Their best friends, Sadie and Rhys, are dating. They've both been hurt by people in their lives; Ro has a toxic on-and-off again boyfriend/bully who gaslights her and Freddy has a dad who uses him. Their friendship becomes something more. In finding each other, they begin to heal. The slow burn in this book is agonizing. Freddy and Ro bring out the best in each other and realize that they can be loved. I love the concept of found family in this novel. There were some scenes that tug at my heartstrings and made me cry. Overall, I recommend this book if you like the friends to lovers and slow burn tropes!

I feel that this book had a lot of potential in terms of character development, but the plot fell a bit flat at times for me. There were moments in chapters where it felt like things could be sped up or then when moments ended too quickly. I felt that there were too many different conflicts happening and I wondered if it would have worked better just to focus on a few.
The characterization of Freddy was great. Over the course of the book, I felt that I understood him as a character and truly felt for him as he tried to navigate all the pain life had dealt him.
Also, I haven’t read Unsteady, which didn’t detract from my reading of this aside from the fact it seems they are in the same timelines, which made some of the other characters more generalized, perhaps because they will get their own books?
Overall, this was a quick read with good character development for the main characters, but not all of the pieces of the plot felt necessary.
Thank you Atria and Netgalley for this ARC!

3.5⭐️
Unloved is the second book in the Undone series by Peyton Corrine. I liked that this was happening in the same timeline of the first book but in our new main character’s POVs because it added additional context. Freddy and Ro’s relationship developed really well over the course of the book but for some reason I couldn’t connect to them. I did love how Corrine handles disabilities in this! The romance was cute and there is no third act breakup (which I always love!!). I am excited to see what is to come in future books in this series.

Thank you to Neutrally and Atria Books for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Peyton has yet again woven a beautiful love story between two incredibly raw and real characters. I could feel their loneliness seeping through the pages, and their desire to be loved in every page turn. This book is so heartfelt and to anyone that’s ever felt misunderstood, or like no one sees you for you, this book is for us. My inner child thanks you Peyton.

Oooooo, I liked this one a lot more than the first!

This felt more original, more unique. I love Ro and Freddy so much. The mental health representation is amazing once again! I like that it tackled similar topics as Unsteady while centering different ones. My one critique here: I wanted to see Rhys and Freddy talk about their struggles. Encouraging those scenes in fiction and media might help convince actual humans it's okay and healthy to discuss your emotions and mental health.

This one felt long, too, but it wasn't as annoying. The build-up of Ro and Freddy's friendship is beautiful. I wish more stories would showcase friendship relationships. Obviously I know this is a romance -- and it was beautifully done -- but that foundational friendship is just as important.

I loved it and I'd happily recommend this!

Many thanks to NetGalley, Atria, and the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.

THEM. 😭 I cannot explain how Peyton Corinne's characters work their way under your skin and into your mind and heart. The vulnerability, the flaws, and the way they sloooowly (SO SLOWLY, THIS SLOW BURN HITS THE SPOT) help each other heal is so, so satisfying, heart warming, and addictive. A totally craveable book and I cannot WAIT for the next in the series!

What to say?

I did not expect this book to be this good.

The story between Ro and Matt was to die for, the spice, the slowburn that turned unto hotness for eachothers.

I devored it.

I first have to say that if you loved the book Unsteady by Peyton Corinne, you will love this book just as much. I love that each character has their own flaws and aren’t just superficial. I also am glad that there is still that same type of humor that was in the previous book in this one as well. Now for Freddy and Ro I literally love these characters. I just wanna give them both hugs because I feel for them both. I can definitely tell the growth the author has shown compared to the first book. I have no complaints and I can greatly say that this is one of my favorite books!!
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishing company for allowing me to read a ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Review of "Unloved" by Peyton Corinne
⭐ 4.5/5 Stars

“I think you’d be really easy to love.”
*swoon*
*cue TTPD on repeat*

Friends-to-lovers is my absolute favorite trope, and Peyton Corinne knocked it out of the park. Ro and Matty stole my heart from the first few pages.

Matty - your classic golden boy who’s always up for a good time. But underneath, he's struggling with learning disabilities and feeling like he’s hard to love.

Ro - his new biology tutor with a serious case of bad luck in love, trying to keep her hopeless romantic heart in check.

This book is such a perfect mix of humor and heart. Matty and Ro are messy, flawed, and so real. You can’t help but root for them as they navigate their friendship-turned-romance and all the chaos that comes with it. Peyton Corinne nails the college vibe while also diving into deeper topics like self-worth, learning struggles, and finding love that sees beyond your imperfections.

The friends-to-lovers trope is my all-time favorite, and "Unloved" does it so well. The witty banter, late-night phone calls, and that perfect slow-burn tension between Matty and Ro had me hooked instantly. Plus, I laughed out loud so many times—seriously, this book is so good.

If you’re into hockey or college romances, friends-to-lovers stories, or student-tutor relationships, you’ll enjoy this one. It’s my first Peyton Corinne read, but it won’t be my last. I’m officially a fan, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

I was generously provided an ARC by Atria Books via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own ♡
