I loved Unsteady so I had high hopes for Unloved, and it did not disappoint! From the beginning I was invested in these characters and their romance. Their relationship had such a natural progression from friends to lovers. This was also such an emotional read, and I appreciated the depth each of the characters had. I loved seeing them open up, develop, and finally get their happy ending. Since finishing this book, I’m even more excited now to continue reading Peyton Corinne's books in the future and hopefully see some of the side characters get their own stories! Thank you to Atria Books and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

matty fredderic look alike competiton!! tonight!! my house!! $50 cash prize!!

on the real, i'm pretty sure i teared up at least every other page, like it just made me feel so soft and tender, and they're so soft with each other, i want to bubble wrap them your honor!!🥹😭 so i'm throwing stars even tho there was mad shit that wasn't working

but it's bc i cared about the characters so i just wanted a lil more!! like more of the archer storyline and more of the boys actually talking to one another?? i think the biggest issue was the pacing and i feel like it's bc it takes place sort of simultaneously with unsteady, so the big events had to fit with unsteady's timeline, which i think was a disservice to this book, since it made the story feel fractured and repetitive

<spoiler>i know that irl many things like this don't get brought up to authorities and aren't really resolved, but matty was quite literally preyed on by his bio professor at a point in his life where he was very vulnerable and easily manipulated. the big blowup consisted of her husband saying that she 'does this a lot' - as in, sleeping with her students, so idk this ma'am needs to be REPORTED. i'm glad rosalie was on his side, but pls i want this woman stripped of her teaching license and behind bars for the sake of all her victims.

considering the traumatic events, at the very least, i wanted him to go to therapy so he could recognize that he wasn't 'living up to his reputation as a slut by sleeping with his professor' and that this ADULT WOMAN had taken advantage of his fragile state and manipulated his feelings and abused her power, while trying to absolve herself bc 'it was never meant to be serious, i can't believe you think you love me, you're just a child,' as if she didn't know that she was dangling her approval and that he was drunk all the time while with her. i'm happy ro said it, but idt he fully GOT it. like pls he was a child and he needs a professional to help him realize that what he felt for that woman was not love, but a twisted emotion borne out of his own self hatred and her manipulation, and that he was a victim. idk i just think he really needs therapy, even if his relationship with ro is healing</spoiler>

thank you for giving me this arc as an early bday present, netgalley!! ✌🏼 also since this is an arc, maybe the things i had gripes with will be changed (yes i'm still in my delulu era. i fear it's a lifestyle at this point)

Another fantastic read! I sped through book one and then immediately requested book two because I knew I needed Ro and Freddy's story. Kind of like the first one, there are a few plot points that get forgotten along the way, but overall this book is so good and bingeable that I didn't really care.

Freddy has ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia, which makes hockey and anything physical his go to since he knows he can excel there. It does mean however, that he needs a tutor. Enter Ro.

Ro is so good at accommodating Freddy and learning to adapt for his tutoring. Finding out his back story made me cry so much. Content warning, he was manipulated by a professor and then has to take a class with her again later. It made me feel very icky, but also really just want to hug Freddy. Ro is also struggling with an asshole boyfriend and Freddy restores her faith and trust with all his cute dates and showing up for her. I wanted to smack her ex a few times because of how awful he treated her, and I felt so bad for Ro that she kept going back to him.

Freddy and Ro’s friends-to-lovers journey strikes a nice balance between charm and realism. The story explores meaningful themes—learning challenges, complicated family dynamics, toxic relationships, and self-discovery—but the pacing felt a bit slow at times. While in line with her character arc, Ro’s self-conscious tendencies occasionally made her character feel flat, which muted the chemistry between her and Freddy. Still, I couldn’t put it down; I loved the tenderness between them and appreciated the relatable, honest telling of love and personal growth.

I remember when the hype started with Corinne's debut, Unsteady. I remember feeling reluctant to read it because of the hype, the immediately falling in love with Sadie and Rhys. And I remember when Unloved was announced and my singular focus for month was getting it in my hands as soon as possible.

Unloved had its claws in me with the title alone. While Unsteady focused on the depths of mental health, which was super relatable for me, Unloved dove into the depth of parental loss. This theme is not something I experience in my daily life, so it didn't gut me from the start. Instead the heartbreak Freddy experiences on a daily basis started as a small hurt for me, then grew and festered as time went on. By the end of the book my entire body was shaking from the way Freddy viewed himself and his coping mechanisms. This poor kid's life was so backwards I wanted to scream for him! But Ro, she was the perfect balance. She saw him for the golden retriever he is on the inside and made sure he knew his worth.

I loved what they brought out in each other and how they truly filled each other's gaps. Ro gave Freddy the stability and confidence he needed to see himself in a new light, but Freddy gave Ro the confidence in herself to thrive. He was a sounding board for her and the ultimate support system, which was so important as she left a controlling relationship where her voice and opinions didn't matter. I loved how they stood up for each other and how they valued each other's opinions and autonomy. I loved the pieces we got of Sadie and Rhys, and I'm sure some pieces of Bennett and his mystery girl as well.

Overall, Corinne's ability to write such emotional stories about broken people who feel so real is unparallelled. It's so easy to fall in love with these characters with her compelling writing style and easy voice. The plot moves so fluidly even with such a heavy slow burn, the story doesn't fall stagnant or get redundant. I love the way she gives us the characters flaws but makes them so endearing, and the villainous way she wrote Tyler has me scoffing at Tylers I know in real life. I'm obsessed. OBSESSED.

I really liked this book! After reading Unsteady and seeing glimpses of Ro and Freddy, I’m so glad we got to learn more about them and their story. Matt “Freddy” Fredderic is the “playboy” hockey player who needs help from his shy tutor Rosalie “Ro” Shariff to stay eligible to play. As their friendship grows we learn that Freddy is more than just his playboy persona and that Ro yearns to find someone who understands her. I loved seeing their friendship grow as they both build up each other’s confidence related to their insecurities. This story was about personal growth, love and finding someone who accepts you just the way you are.

Okay, hear me out.

I liked this A LOT. I think it covered a lot of really important topics and I think Corinne handled them with grace. Grief is a monster. Abuse in all forms is a monster. There wasn't an easy way out of it for either of them and I think they did the work to heal themselves and each other beautifully.

So while that is all true, I think the book dragged a little in the middle for me. I understand we needed to see all of it to get them where they are at the end but it felt like a chore for a lil bit before it started to pick back up again. 464 pages is A LOT and I felt those extra 100 pages for sure.

With that said, I love Ro and Freddy and I love to see their world coincide with the world we saw Rhys and Sadie live in. And I absolutely cannot wait to get into Bennett's head oh my god.

I love this lil found family a whole lot!

In *Unloved*, the highly anticipated follow-up to the TikTok sensation *Unsteady*, Peyton Corinne takes readers on a heartfelt journey through the tumultuous relationship between hopeless romantic Ro Shariff and star hockey player Matt “Freddy” Fredderic. This sequel expertly delves into themes of self-worth, healing, and the complexities of love, making it a must-read for fans of contemporary romance.

Freddy is the quintessential charming athlete, known for his prowess on the ice as a left winger for the Waterfell Wolves. However, beneath his confident exterior lies a struggle with academic challenges, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. Corinne does a fantastic job of portraying Freddy's vulnerabilities as he grapples with the pressure of his NHL aspirations and the weight of a lackluster GPA. The tension between his athletic reputation and academic struggles creates a relatable and multifaceted character, drawing readers into his journey of self-acceptance and growth.

Ro, on the other hand, is a hopeful romantic who finds herself in a pattern of unfulfilling relationships. Her new role as Freddy's tutor introduces an unexpected dynamic, as she tries to convince herself that she’s happy with her on-again, off-again boyfriend. The connection she begins to develop with Freddy is both poignant and complicated, especially as memories of their shared history come flooding back, including a first kiss that Freddy seems to have forgotten. Ro’s character is both relatable and endearing, making her quest for true affection resonate deeply with readers.

The chemistry between Ro and Freddy is palpable and beautifully crafted. As their tutoring sessions evolve into late-night phone calls and intimate conversations, the emotional stakes heighten. Corinne captures the essence of young love—its innocence, passion, and the often unspoken fears that accompany it. The transformation of their friendship into something deeper is not only believable but also profoundly moving, as both characters confront their insecurities and learn to lean on each other for support.

What sets *Unloved* apart is its exploration of the healing qualities of love. As Freddy seeks to prove his worth beyond his reputation, Ro endeavors to show him that he is deserving of genuine affection and respect. Their interactions are filled with gentle affection and true admiration, allowing them to reveal their hidden pains and ultimately find solace in one another. Corinne deftly illustrates how love can be a catalyst for personal growth, urging both characters to embrace their imperfections.

The writing is engaging and immersive, with well-drawn supporting characters that enrich the narrative. Friends and teammates add depth and realism to the story, creating a vibrant backdrop for Ro and Freddy's relationship. Corinne's ability to weave humor and tenderness into the narrative makes for a balanced and enjoyable reading experience.

In conclusion, *Unloved* is a captivating sequel that beautifully explores the journey of self-discovery and the complexities of young love. Peyton Corinne has crafted a story that is both touching and relatable, reminding readers that everyone is deserving of love, regardless of their past or their perceived flaws. Ro and Freddy’s journey is a testament to the healing power of connection, making this book a must-read for fans of romance.

After reading Unsteady, I wasn't sure if Unloved would be able to live up to such an amazing book, but it definitely did!

The sweet build-up of Ro and Freddy's relationship was realistic and tastefully written. Their connection was obvious right off the bat, but the build-up is what truly made it special! The portrayal of love and grief was so beautiful and looked at through so many different lenses. The characters are written in a way that seems so real and never falls flat. I can't wait for everyone to read this on Feb 4th and can't wait to read anything else Peyton writes!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I love this book so much. It was just so sweet and I was rooting so much for Matty and Ro.

I feel this book did a great job covering some really hard topics like (grief/abuse/narcissism) and the impact it has on people.

This is a book that will hold a special place in my reader’s heart! Not only did I see so much of myself in Ro and Freddy but the representation of learning disabilities and ADHD made my heart feel like it was exploding (in a good way)! As someone who works with students with learning disabilities seeing this explored in such a vulnerable and real way felt so validating to the challenges they overcome every single day!

I really loved how Peyton explored Ro and Freddy's feelings of not being good enough and felt like their anxieties were really well explored and written. The inner voice doubting themselves felt so real and in my opinion really captures the experience of anxiety and self-doubt. I enjoyed the depth of both characters!

It also doesn’t hurt that Freddy doesn’t shame Ro for her love of bodice rippers and listens to spicy audiobooks with her! We love a supportive man who definitely benefits from the research 😉

This book broke my heart. I was sobbing at 2 am just to finish it and I just wanted to give Matty a hug. All anyone ever wants is to be loved and that’s all he ever wanted. Ro loved him with her whole heart and showed her just how easy he was to fall in love with ! This book was perfect and will forever have a place in my heart 💗

Unloved is a beautiful book about working through grief, loss and love. Peyton Corinne is a stunning writer, and I am so blessed to have been given an ARC through NetGalley for this book.

"I think falling in love with you is the easiest thing I've ever done."
This quote undid me. The raw honest emotion in this book is something that a very select few authors do well. I am glad that it was dual POV because learning the in depth feeling, trouble and grief from both Freddy and Ro heightens the book in incomprehensible ways. I laughed, cried, and swooned hard during my read.

Ro and Freddy's relationship starts with her being his tutor and evolves from there, both scared and both hurting. It is a true testament to friendship at the base of everything. One thing I love about the Undone series is there is no "act two break up". These characters feel real and honest. It is also so fascinating to see how this story overlaps with Unsteady.

I am so excited for this series to continue. I am hoping Bennett is next. If you are looking for a book with
-emotional depth,
-a cinnamon roll/sunshine couple,
-Strangers to lovers (and everything else on the way),
-non-neurotypical MMC
Then this book is for you. Give it a shot and I hope you fall in love with them like I did.

As always, when it comes to a roller coaster of emotions, I will always to Payton Corrine. She has managed to capture everything from shy good girl, to an on and off the ice player, to see the emotional impact that these characters have both together and without eachother is absolutely heart warming, and breaking at the same time.

I will always recommend these books no matter what, because of how believable and lovable the characters are.

There where parts I was giggling like a school girl and parts I was crying, Taylor swift on repeat kinda crying, I can’t wait for this to come out!!!

So wow? These are some of softest characters I’ve ever read about and it made me cry😭 I loved the first book so much so I knew this one wasn’t gonna be any different. Freddy, aka Matty, was just the absolute sweetest soul ever. This man endured so much from losing his mother and having a piece of shit father who just never cared about him, to finding Rosalie and getting what it feels like to actually feel wanted and loved😭🥺 Rosalie honestly reminds me of myself.. sweet, super shy and not experienced at all in the bedroom😂 (but figured it out with the help of sexy Matty) ugh I just loved these 2 so much.

OKAY SO this book was so cute. The author did such an amazing job writing about the heavy topics in this book. I feel as many women in life can relate to Ro’s relationship with her ex. Being able to portray that into this book and have Ro grow from that was just amazing. I loved the timeline of this book as well, being able to make the connections from the first standalone was something that made the story even more full circle. Fingers crossed we get Bennett’s story next 🫡🫡

✨BOOK REVIEW✨

✨She fell first/ He fell harder
✨College Sexy List

I LOVED this book! I am so so honored that I got chosen to review an ARC of Unloved! I loved the first one Unsteady with Rhys and Sadie’s story BUT Freddy and Ro’s story I relate to in a sense of also being a people pleaser and staying in a toxic relationship.

Freddy is the PERFECT book boyfriend! He’s kind and caring and super patient with Ro and her feelings. 🫶🏼

Ro is a woman that figures out her self worth and goes for what she wants! She says the big L word first and I LOVE it! ☺️

If you haven’t read Unsteady I highly encourage you too before reading Unloved but it’s not necessary! 🩷

Finished this book multiple days ago and I’m still not sure I know how to organize my thoughts. This book is magic.

This is so deeply a friends to lovers story, and I loved getting to see their friendship develop SO beautifully. Often times friends to lovers involves people who have been friends for years only just suddenly realizing they’re romantically attracted to each other. That’s not this. Ro and Freddy formed their friendship SO organically and their souls immediately latched onto each other. This book has so much platonic love. Whether that be between our main couple or each of their friends, this makes you want to hug your best friend.

This book is dedicated to the dead parents club, and as a card holding member who is also the partner of another card holding member: fucking OUCH, Peyton. I had to turn off my kindle, set it aside, and sob into my hands for multiple minutes about part of this.

The part of me that loves education and loved connecting with students was cheering every time Freddy made any progress in his tutoring. God I’m so proud of these fictional characters.

The found family is so so so so so pure I’ll never forget it.

This book takes place at chronologically almost the exact same time as Unsteady and that was really interesting to me. Usually I don’t like that because I don’t like plot events to repeat but this didn’t feel like that at all. It was perfect.

(And while I don’t usually support home wrecking, the line “I score on defended nets all the time” as a response to “I have a boyfriend” is a fucking BANGER)

Peyton, can you call me up and tell me every detail about your plan for Bennett’s book because I simply cannot wait as long as I’m going to have to for it.

If you see me wearing bows in my hair now, mind your business.

5⭐️!!!!
This book was beautiful!! It showed how grief and love are one with each other. I couldn’t put this book down!
Matt is such a kind soul and he has been through so much yet he still looks out for everyone. And Ro has such a big heart yet still struggles to find the heart to love parts of herself because of what she has gone through.
These two characters are so real and raw and you can’t help but love them. Everyone can find a part of themselves in Matt and/or Ro. They speak from the heart, these characters, they love and want to be loved so deeply. I will forever think about their story!
Go read this book!! It has so much heart, so much charm, but also deals with heavier topics that bring a deeper connection to the characters and readers!!
This was a beautiful book! ❤️‍🩹 I loved it with my entire heart!!

I tried to go into this book with no expectations, just because when I first read unsteady I didn’t really like it. Overall this book was a good easy read and I enjoyed it a lot more. I felt like Ro and Freddy really understood each other, and I enjoyed seeing how their relationship progressed. It did really irritate me how long Ro put up with her ex, but that’s just how some relationships work out unfortunately.
