There's something so raw in the way Peyton writes her characters. Through heartbreak and trauma, rocky familial relationships, and friendships that heal you, she creates a world that draws you in and makes you feel deeply. We got snippets of Freddy and Ro in Unsteady, but man, I was not prepared for how much I'd love them. I really liked that their story overlapped with Rhys and Sadie's! It was like getting to know them all over again from a different point of view, and I found that refreshing. I love how much they were there for each other despite the fact that they truly had their own healing journeys to go on! This was a very beautiful friends to lovers tale, and I can't wait to see what's next.

I was not expecting to dislike this as much as I did in the first book in the series. I was a little thrown off by the same timeline as Unsteady. There were a lot of issues that each of the characters was dealing with which made it hard to stay focused. There were still some sweet and cute moments between Matt and Roe. I will at least still be trying out the next book in the series when it's published!

Oh how I loved this book! Maybe even a little more than Unsteady? I don't know, they're both quite good.
I was looking forward to this one a lot since I enoyed Unsteady so much.
It irked me a little that it was hapenning at the same time as the first book tho, it just felt weird in a coupe places but other than that, it was a great read!
I fell in love with the characters quickly even if they couldn't love themselves. This beautiful story about learning what you deserve and accepting it, about friendship first was aboslutely beautiful. It just all felt so real, it made me wish I could tutor a hot guy too ;)
I was very annoyed at the ex/boyfriend because he was being such an a**hole! And like I wanted Rosalie to get over him already and tell him where he cn shove his opinions. But I understand that it's not that easy to do in real life and even though I was EXASPERATED by that guy, I enjoyed Ro's process of finding herself again and re-taking control.
Overall, I highly enjoyed the book, very much recommend it and will be on the edge of my seat to see what the author writes next.

I couldn't put this book down 📚✨

Unloved follows Sadie (from Unsteady)'s best friend/roommate Rosalie, a hopeless romantic stuck in a toxic relationship, and Rhys's teammate/roommate Matt “Freddy” Frederic, a star hockey player struggling to keep up in school with his learning disabilities. When Ro becomes Freddy’s tutor, their professional relationship slowly blossoms into a deep friendship and, eventually, something more. Together, they navigate personal insecurities, past traumas, and the pressures of young adulthood, discovering that true love means embracing each other’s flaws.

🏒 fake ivy league hockey players living together in a house in a small college town (the real fantasy of boys emotionally supporting each other)
🎓 realistic and respectful portrayal of dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD
❤️ they call each other by their real names when everyone else uses their nicknames
🥲 a portrayal of college loneliness and homesickness we rarely see in college romance! reminded me of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC! There were a few too many continuity errors, which took me out of the story, but hopefully those were fixed by publication. All opinions are my own. 😊

Ughhh, I absolutely fell head over heels for Ro and Matty! Their kind, fragile, and beautifully sensitive hearts completely stole mine. Watching them navigate the messy, bumpy road to finally admitting their feelings was both agonizing and perfect it was so worth the wait!

Both of them had so much growing to do, but the way they truly saw each other’s hearts and always had each other’s backs? It was EVERYTHING. Whether they were ‘just friends’ or something more, their patience and forgiveness were truly inspiring (and honestly, not something you see every day).

If you’re craving a story that’ll make your heart ache and swoon all at once, you absolutely need to read this one!

Peyton Corinne can do no wrong!! Seriously, everything she writes is pure magic!

This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster like no other! I had a hard time at the beginning of the book with the gaslighting & toxic relationship Ro was involved in. I appreciate the author using realistic circumstances and it resonated with me, which is probably why I had a hard time. She does grow and gain her voice in the book, which was enjoyable. I liked Freddy from the get-go. He is an underdog, and no one knows it! This book has a lot of representation for academic disabilities, emotional abuse & how we as people manage it. It was a heavy ready for most of the book but towards the end, it was lighter. This is a good emotional, slow burn.

This was SO good. I loved Unsteady and this was even better. The buildup of their relationship was so good, and how healthy it was made me so happy. I absolutely adored them both by the end.

I really enjoy romance books, especially sports romance, that are about so much more than just spice or the romance. This series definitely does that. Don’t get me wrong, there is spice but it didn’t overtake the story like I thought it would!

After reading this book, Peyton has quickly solidified herself as one of my all time favorite romance writers! The way she tells a story is beyond compare and the beauty of everything she writes feels like such a privilege to read! The romance in this book was top tier and this book is one I wish I could experience reading again for the first time! Freddy and Ro's chemistry was an absolute dream to read and they set the bar so high for any future romance books I get to read! I loved Unsteady so much so I was happy to revisit and get to know better so many familiar characters from it in this book! I can't wait to see what Peyton has next in store!

Unloved by Peyton Corinne is one of those romances that sneaks up on you. It took me a while to get hooked on the story, but It’s got all the angst, slow burn, and a couple you’ll be rooting for the entire time.

The story’s about Rosalie (Ro) and Freddy, the campus hockey star with a reputation for being a player, both are very similar in their ways of believing shit people project onto them and finding it hard to believe they are good and worthy of real love. Ro and Freddy’s journey is so raw, and watching them finally realize they deserve happiness was the best part of it. These two fix each other in the most beautiful way.

Tropes we love here:
✨ Friends to Lovers
✨ Slow Burn
✨ Hockey Romance (the obv one)
✨ Emotional Healing

This book hurts sometimes, but it’s also filled with so much hope and love. I also loved getting different glimpses of the same story told into the first book and exploring different characters who peaked my attention while reading it at the time. Maybe the next book will be about Bennett? I freaking hope so. ANYWAY! Overall a great read!

Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and author for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

MY GOD THIS BOOK AND THIS SERIES IS EVERYTHING!!

After reading the masterpiece that was Unsteady, I knew this was going to be good. But considering I don't like to get emotional if I can help it, I wasn't expecting to cry so much and feel for these characters as much as I did.

Freddy & Ro truly deserve all the good in the world. Seeing how poorly they'd been treated in the past and the self-destructive thoughts they had about themselves as a result broke my heart into a million pieces. I haven't desired a happy ending for two characters this much in a long time. Their story was raw and painful as much as it was beautiful. I felt every emotion they were going through — whether it was hurt, anger, or joy. They had the kind of connection people dream of having.

Freddy & Ro had the most soft, tender, and precious friendship as well as love for one another. They showed how wonderful it is to be fully seen for who you are and wholly loved even more because of it. Seeing them finally find their safe space within each other was just everything, and they truly become each other's person. They had some healing to do, and it was beautiful to watch them do it in the safety of one another's arms.

This series and its characters have very quickly become all-time favorites of mine. Peyton Corinne has proven to be masterful at what she does. It's amazing to know that whenever I pick up one of her books that I will feel so much love in every single page. I will carry these books and its characters in my heart forever and will never forget them for as long as I live. I already can't wait for more from Peyton & this world. I'm eternally grateful to have read this.

Thank you so much to Atria & NetGalley for a physical ARC and eARC of this book!

Ro and Freddie/Matt are reintroduced through a tutoring program at their college. Both seem to be completely opposite of each other… until they find a common ground.

I feel there should be a few, minor trigger warnings regarding verbal abuse between romantic partners and parent/child. Also being taken advantage of by an authority figure.

I feel this author did a good job bridging the gap between these characters. I felt the lack of understanding of different learning disabilities was a great highlight. Especially, with how our society lacks consideration of any one person could potentially have multiple. Honestly, this was probably my favorite part of this book.

Overall, this was emotionally and fun! Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books Egalley for the opportunity to read this story.

i devoured this book, it was so fantastic & i could not put it down!! ro & freddy understood one another in a deeper level and i loved seeing them grow closer as friends and then more. the storyline wasn’t rushed and i ate up every second of that slowburn!!

ro had a lot of self doubts about her worth mainly due to her controlling ex boyfriend. reading some of these scenes between them was really hard because he was just so mean and negative and ro deserved so much better. when ro started tutoring freddy, we got to see how patient and understanding she is and how much she truly wants to help others in every way she can

freddy also struggles a lot with feeling like he deserves love & happiness. after losing his mom and having to deal with his dad things became even tougher on him. freddy has a hard time in school thanks to his dyslexia & dyscalculia and his previous tutors never gave him the proper support which always made him feel less than until ro comes along. she really helped freddy understand his worth and they’re instant connection was everything

this book is SO sweet and such a great representation of a soft & gentle love between two people who fully understand how each other and are able to grow from their self doubts together. this story was so beautifully written and a testament to how peyton is able to immerse readers into the story and tag along for the ride as her characters blossom!!

A heads up: I was lucky enough to get approved for an ARC of this book through NetGalley. That said, all thoughts and opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

“I think you’d be really easy to love”

Okay, let me just say that I got this book when I needed it the most. I was seriously excited about Ro and Freddy’s story after catching little glimpses of them in Unsteady, and their story didn’t disappoint.

We got Freddy, the charming star hockey player that seems larger than life, but underneath that confident exterior, he's dealing with feelings of abandonment and thinking he's not worthy of love. And then there’s Ro, sweet and loyal Ro, who's been made to feel so ashamed and insecure.

Their interactions, their chemistry and how they support each other it's everything. Freddy wants to shield Ro from his reputation, all while showing her that she deserves real genuine love. And Ro? She is constantly encouraging Freddy to see his worth. You can really feel their emotional connection, and Corinne does an amazing job exploring themes like self-acceptance and vulnerability. At its core, their story is of two people battling their own insecurities, finding comfort and support in each other and their friends and family. These characters feel incredibly real.

Tropes you’ll love:
💚 college hockey romance
💚 tutor x athlete
💚 friends to lovers
💚 found family

I feel like this book is perfect if you enjoyed Daydream by Hannah Grace. It’s got the perfect mix of fun and feels that makes it super hard to put down. Seriously, if you're in a reading slump, this is exactly what you need! It also has very similar vibes to Collide by Bal Khabra and Offside by Avery Keelan. So if you enjoyed any of those, you’ll want to add this one to your TBR.

Huge congrats to Peyton. I absolutely loved Ro and Freddy's story and can’t believe how long I’ll have to wait for the next one (I have a good idea of who’s next, and I’m super intrigued to read their story). Thanks to Atria Books for the eARC and this opportunity —this is my first ARC, and I truly appreciate it! Unloved comes out on Feb 4. Be sure to pre-order so you don’t miss out on Ro and Matty’s journey! 📚🏒💚

I’ve been on a mission to find my ultimate hockey romance, and Unloved just skated straight to the top of my list. This book? A masterclass in slow-burn tension, emotional depth, and characters so layered you could peel them like an onion—minus the tears (okay, maybe a few). Between the angst, the spice, and the top-tier found family vibes, I was hooked.

But let’s be real—my schedule has been pure chaos lately, so I had to hop onto the audiobook, and wow, what a decision that was. The dual narration? Chef’s kiss. The performances? So good, I felt like I was eavesdropping on real conversations. And now, these voices are living rent-free in my head, probably forever.

Matty and Ro’s love story is the perfect mix of sweet, angsty, and emotionally raw. Ro? An absolute angel, lifting Matty up even when he couldn’t see his own worth. And Matty? A hopeless romantic wrapped in a misunderstood bad-boy exterior. His love language? Acts of service and making us all swoon.

This book is for anyone who has ever felt like too much or not enough—because Unloved will remind you that the right person will always see you for who you are.

Ahh Ro and Matty have my whole heart. I absolutely loved this story for the most part. It was filled with so much emotion. I will say it could of been shorter...I felt like there was a lot of filler in this and drew out the story.

The way these two needed one another! 🥺 Ro made Matty realize he was so much more than what others were saying and Matty made Ro pull out her shell and not be ashamed for who she is. So perfect for one another.
I couldn’t help but feel so much for Matty. The rage I have for him for what others did to him is insane. Struggling with so much and yet no one wants to really help until Ro. 😭😭
And Ro…there were times I wanted to slap her to not go back to her toxic ex but at the end she realizes what is best for her.
The slooooow burn in this one was everything!
I loved the hints of maybe what’s to come from Peyton so I’m super excited to see if I’m correct.

This book was cute. I enjoyed it. Would it be my top read of the year? No. But I had a good time while reading it.

Matt "Freddy" Fredderic is a star left winger for the Waterfell Wolves, and Ro Shariff, a dedicated student navigating a challenging on-again, off-again relationship. Freddy's struggles with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD add depth to his character, highlighting his vulnerabilities beyond the ice rink. Ro's journey reflects her desire for genuine affection and self-worth.

The novel excels in portraying the slow-burning development of Freddy and Ro's relationship, transitioning from late-night study sessions to profound emotional connections. There is exploration of themes like personal growth, healing, and the impact of past traumas is commendable. However, certain sections of the story felt dragged on, and some character decisions seemed inconsistent, affecting the overall pacing and my attention.

I liked this one a little more than unsteady but they were just ok for me.

This was such a good hockey romance & Ro and Matt had great chemistry! I love a good friends to lovers story and this definitely did not disappoint. I loved how much depth the characters had & their growth and development felt very effortless. The banter, the tension & slow burn were well balanced with the more emotional and meaningful moments of the story. It was definitely healing in a way to read Ro & Matt’s journey about trying to figure out what it meant to love and be loved. Definitely recommend this one!

This books was amazing. I loved the slow burn between Ro and Freddy. This book had some of my favorite tropes. The way they Peyton was able to weave their story and include the mental health rep felt like i was living through their experiences. Their connection was beautiful and i loved how they were able to be themselves with each other.

After not really loving Unsteady (I'm not a huge fan of black cat fmcs), I was hesitant to pick up Peyton Corinne's second book, but I'm so happy I did because Unloved delivered in so many ways that the first book fell short.

Following Ro's journey of self-love was such a fun and wild ride. Her cute sense of style and desperate desire to be loved really resonated with me. I saw myself in the way she cares deeply about her friends and tries to see the best in everyone and everything.

I adored delving into Ro and Matt's friends to lovers slow burn romance. Books where he fall first and harder are always my favourite and I love how Matt continuously puts Ro first, even when she doesn't. Their tangible chemistry had me kicking my feet and squealing.

I fell head over heels for Matt, who said the most romantic things to Ro. He definitely raised my standards for protective, fun-loving, and doting book boyfriends. I appreciated exploring his struggle with dyslexia and dyscalculia and how it impacted his college career.

Unloved easily balances Ro's journey of self-love through freeing herself from an emotionally abusive boyfriend, Matt's processing of his mother's death and navigating his learning disabilities, and the fireworks in their budding romance without missing a beat. I love how natural the story flows, it was easy to get immersed in the narrative.

I really hope the next book gives us Paloma's perspective! I feel like she was everywhere in this book and I'm excited to read about her romance because if a certain hockey player in this book is to be believed, she deserves it.

Thanks to Netgalley, Atria Books, and Peyton Corinne for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

Five out of five stars!
