Ro and Freddy are both the absolute sweetest and deserve nothing but good things. This book was such a good mix of sweet, fun moments and some more serious ones. Ro and Freddy had such a great acquaintances to friends to lovers story and every time they were together I was giggling and kicking my feet. I absolutely loved how sweet Freddy was with Ro and how he was always looking out for her and going out of his way to help her and make her happy. Even with everything else he had going on in his life he always put her first. Ro saw right through his cool, playboy persona and always showed him that she cared and that he deserved love.
Both of these characters had a lot of things from their past that they needed to work through and it was really sweet to see them work through those things together and to constantly show up for each other. They had such a strong relationship and even before they were dating the love between them was so easy to see.
This book also takes place at the same time as Unsteady, so if you loved that book and want more of Sadie and Rhys you'll definitely love this one.
This was such a good friends to lovers, sunshine x sunshine, college romance and I highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for the ARC!!

Hot off the heels of Unsteady, Unloved is a hauntingly beautiful tale that truly touches on the pulse of what it means to find the strength to break cycles and forgive yourself for things that were never within your control.

This book is so much more than a love story before a boy and a girl desperate for validation in a world that has been less than kind to them. Love bleeds through the pages, saturating every word while Corinne takes you through the gentle journey of healing from trauma and grief. It's rare for me to feel so deeply connected to characters and, yet, I found myself within Ro Shariff with every turn of the page. Corinne masterfully created these characters to the point where they didn't feel like works of fiction-- but living, breathing people that the reader was allowed to pull back the veil and be a voyeur into their lives.

Freddy and Ro's story was so incredibly special to read. I'm constantly in awe of Corinne's ability to handle such mature topics of grief, abuse, and trauma with such beautiful gentleness.

(On a personal note, I'm obsessed with the fact that one gorgeous hockey superstar wears a Victory Green sweater)

I cannot wait for Peyton Corinne's brilliance to unfold in the rest of the Undone series with the rest of her Waterfell Wolves!!!

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Unloved by Peyton Corrine is the second book in the Undone series that follows Ro, who is in an emotionally abusive relationship, as she begins tutoring Freddy, the hockey superstar with a reputation in the bedroom that she’s had a secret crush on for four years.

I really enjoyed this one! I love the tutor x athlete trope (thank u Nathan and Haley from OTH) and I thought both Ro and Freddy were both so sweet. I love that they worked through their traumas together and communicated so well with one another. You got to actually watch these two characters who felt so lonely find solace and safety in one another, which translated well off the page.

The side characters in this series are really great too!! And I am really excited for the next book eventually 👀

Thank you Netgalley and Atria for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Coming into this book, I had high expectations because I completely fell in love with the world of characters created in Unsteady. Needless to say, Peyton Corrine did not disappoint with Unloved.

This book made me FEEL. By the time I was done, my cheeks were tearstained, my nose was running, and I felt zapped (in a good way!) Freddy and Ro are both such genuine, protective people and watching them grow as individuals and closer together throughout the story was nothing less than magic. There is so much comfort and vulnerability between these two, and their feelings are so tender and so real. My heart was in a vise for most of this book.

I feel like this review is very lackluster but I’ve sat with my feelings about it for 24 hours after finishing it, and I still can’t think of the proper verbiage to describe how much I loved this book and the exact words of how it made me feel. It’s so much more than just a college sports romance. It’s a journey of healing, a journey of self-acceptance, a journey of grief, a journey of self-exploration, a journey of gentle love. The list goes on and on. I think this book stuck with me so much because of Ro. So many of her attributes and experiences I see in myself, and that just makes her finding that love she always wanted (and deserves) so cathartic.

Also, Peyton Corrine is the queen of epilogues. Happy tears, happy tears every time I read one. My already huge heart grew 3 sizes during the epilogue. I can’t wait to read more in the future!

I was so excited to get my hands on Unloved by Peyton Corinne after being completely swept away by Unsteady! Peyton does not disappoint with this sequel, and I fell head over heels for Freddy and Ro’s story just as much as I’d hoped.

If you love a reformed playboy trope, you’re in for a treat. Freddy has a huge heart and a history he’s still healing from, while Ro is strong, warm, and so genuine. Watching these two navigate their insecurities and learn to trust was such an emotional ride. Peyton’s writing brings all the feels – the raw moments, the heartfelt confessions, and the laughter in between. These two just fit together, in that “meant-to-be” way that makes you root for them from start to finish.

The emotional depth was beautiful and kept me fully invested in their journey. I loved how Peyton weaves vulnerability and self-love into the romance, creating such a well-rounded and satisfying story. Freddy and Ro’s relationship is the perfect blend of passion and tenderness, and I couldn’t get enough of their connection.

If you haven’t read Unsteady, start there to get the full experience! With Unloved coming out in February, you’ll have plenty of time to catch up and fall in love with Freddy and Ro just as I did. It’s a sweet, heartfelt story of two people finding love, confidence, and the courage to embrace their worth. 🥰

Thank you, NetGalley and Peyton Corinne, for the ARC! This was such a joy to read, and I can’t wait for others to experience the magic of Freddy and Ro’s story.

new adult tutor/hockey romance? sign me up!

i had a hard time with the first half of the book, but enjoyed the second half a lot more! almost did 3 stars but that epilogue bumped it up, it was so sweet ❤️‍🩹 both Ro and Freddy were so human, i enjoyed that aspect! i absolutely loved how protective Freddy was and i also enjoyed Ro being so scholarly. their friendship was so adorable. some people come into your life at just the right time, and this book is such beautiful proof of that.

i just wish their problems got more of a satisfying ending. the “bad” characters were so bad that it was too much. they needed to go to jail or have a redemption, but instead they just fizzled out. 🤷🏼‍♀️

something that made me enjoy it less was the spice. i prefer no/low spice books and this was almost a DNF for me. thankfully it was easy to skip the open door scenes but there were some references/jokes that were borderline too obscene for me. (i did not bump rating down- NA books can have spice and shouldn’t be punished rating wise for it) however my problem was that when they would have a good vulnerable talk, it was a relief, but then they would go and kiss and it would ruin it? idk. not my fave. i also wish we got more scenes of Ro tutoring Freddy! there was so much drama, i needed more happy moments. 🫶🏼

overall, if you like college romance books, you’ll enjoy this one. just be prepared for some more mature themes/topics and spice!

Freddy is a powerhouse on the ice, but when it comes to academics he greatest struggles with his ADHD and dyslexia. Once Ro gets assigned to be Freddy’s tutor, the two of them slowly become friends and then each other’s safe space, and then more.
I love this series so much. I love Freddy and Ro and I love the side characters and I just love everyone (except Tyler). I am literally so thankful to have gotten an early copy of this book, and I can guarantee that I’ll be rereading this book once my preorder comes in. Although I am a bit disappointed that I’ll have to wait longer for book three, but it’s fine.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Atria Books for an eARC of this book!

Gosh I had Unsteady on my tbr since its first release (indie) and getting an arc of unloved was just the push I needed to discover this wonderful writer 🥹

I already loved Ro during Unsteady and I was so happy to have the chance to read her book 🥰

Ro is the shy and cute romance reader and Matt is as sweet as she is 🥰
They feel so right together from the beginning.

I just can’t wait to get a physical copy of this baby 🥹

I loved this book! The slow build up between the MC's was so well done! It was an emotional read at times with a great HEA!

I finished this book in one sitting. Freddy and Ro are perfectly imperfect, but I loved their relationship. Freddy is sweet and kind I loved him so much! I also loved that there wasn’t a third act break up. it was amazing to see them get their happy ending!!

Absolutely loved Unsteady and Peyton Corinne gets me again in this beautiful college hockey romance!

Both Ro Shariff and Matt Fredderic are people pleasers and are so sweet and charming! This is a friends to lovers slow-burn romance..Matty has ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia and has experienced extraordinary loss. Ro is getting out of a toxic relationship and misses her parents who have also had a difficult time.

I love Ro and Matt’s journey from tutor-student to friends and ultimately lovers. It’s so beautiful how these two show up for each other. They are loyal and kind and help each other overcome so much. The timeline overlaps with Unsteady so we now get to see everything from Ro and Matt’s POVs as well. And the grand gestures they make for each other….amazing!

I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Thanks to Netgalley, Atria Books and Peyton Corinne for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

"I think you'd be really easy to love,”
I adored this book, making it my personality for the next 3 months. The characters, the plot, and the connection to Unsteady is a CHEFS KISS🫶🏻
Freddy’s character development throughout the book is heartwarming. Watching him heal from his past experiences with the help of Ro makes me want to give them both a big hug. Who you thought was just a play boy was a very emotionally intelligent guy who just needed some love. Freddy’s internal conflict had me on the verge of tears, making him “easy to love.” He was hilarious and so sweet. theatre way he was ready to be better for Ro has MY HEART.

“I'll be patient this time, because he's hurting. Deeply— and he's been there when I hurt, repeatedly. Matt needs someone who stays, who is willing to prove that he is worth it all. That he deserves good things in his life.”

Watching Ro grow from her abusive relationship into someone great was making me feel all the things. Ro was relatable for girls at one point in their life, wanting to please people and be perfect. Ro taking a stand for what she needs, and for what the people around her needs is admirable. Ro’s relationship with her parents makes my heart melt, always wanting to make them proud and will love them forever. When she begins to realize how bad of a person Tyler is and breaking free from the pain he causes something I rooted for since Unsteady.

The chemistry between these characters is so enjoyable to read, watching them slowly fall in love with each other. The cute little moments bring this book to life. The mental health rep and grief in this book are portrayed so well, that you will shut people out thinking it’s for the better. Watching Freddy mend his relationship with Archer, healing the old wounds from his mother’s passing is just so heart warming. As well as his struggles with ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia and how people who don’t understand affect that. Ro becoming a strong woman after the emotional turmoil she’s faced because of Tyler is inspiring. That she shouldn’t be ashamed by how she feels. I feel the wait of their official relationship is worth it. It shows being in a relationship is something you have to be ready for, willing to be better for the other. This book is a wonderful read giving you the hot hockey play boy and the cute smart tutor.

““She's creative and strong and independent. She's nothing like me. She doesn't need other people's praise to feel like she's worth something. Doesn't need pretty words to drown out the echoes of the ugly ones always shouted from my dad's voice.
Ro doesn't need anyone.
But right now, she's in my arms and I'm the one giving her comfort.”

I CANNNOTT wait for the next books in this series, and can’t wait to have this book on my shelf. Thank you Netgalley, the publisher, and Peyton herself for giving me this opportunity to read such an amazing book.💚🦋

I love Freddy and Ro with my entire heart. Everything about them is so soft and precious - the way they protect each other so fiercely even before they fall in love, how they're both able to be vulnerable and honest and exactly themselves together, her calling him Matty and him calling her Rosalie. And the slow burn is a SLOW BURN. Just the way I like it. The overlap with Unsteady also made it really fun to read. I loved finding out how some of those moments in Unsteady played out from Ro and/or Freddy's POV.

Also, the way Peyton portrays mental health rep, learning disability rep, grief and trauma in her writing is just so beautiful too. This book is a new comfort read that I'll go back to time and again.

This is some of the best slow-burn romance I've read in quite a while. I love when couples in romance novels are secretly pining for the other, it makes my heart swell ten-times fold. I'll be honest, I didn't have a chance to read the first book in this series prior to picking this one up and yet, I still felt extremely attached to the main couple of this love story. Unloved has convinced me to pick up Unsteady.

Unloved is the perfect follow-up to Unsteady. I adored Rhys and Sadie’s story, so of course I jumped at the chance to get my hands on Ro’s story! I loved how it picks up in the same timeline, so I still felt like Rhys and Sadie were part of the story even though the focus was on a new couple.
Freddy, the playboy hockey player with a messy personal life, and Ro, his sweet and hopelessly romantic tutor, have such a natural and real connection. The way their friendship slowly turns into something more is so organic, and the emotional depth really hit me. The themes of self-worth and healing through love are beautifully done, and I couldn’t help but shed a tear or ten. The whole series is just so heartwarming and emotional, and I’m definitely hoping to see more of the Waterfell crew in future books.

Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy!

All the stars! Thank you NetGalley for an eARC of this book. I read Unsteady (book 1) and fell in love with the characters and story. I couldn't wait to read Unloved. This story lived up to my excitement. Unloved is Ro and Freddy's story. Ro is in an on-again/off-again relationship that she is trying to make work when she becomes Freddy's tutor. What ensues is some of the best slow burn secret pining I have ever read. I am a sucker for both of those tropes. Along with that, Ro and Freddy developed such a deep and genuine connection I found that reading their blossoming friendship was a satisfying as reading about their romance. I loved seeing how they supported and lifted each other up.

Tropes:
tutor x hockey player
secret pining
friends to lovers

Taylor Swift songs that popped into my head while reading: tolerate it, ivy, long story short, and So High School <3

A satisfying arc. I love when I get so much of a story, real growth and a glimpse into the future!
The characters have real and relatable issues to start, and do not automatically solve them by getting into a relationship- rather they help each other learn and grow and battle setbacks.

" I think loving you would be the greatest thing in my life"

As much as I enjoy morally moody grey characters, it was beautiful to have a male character show vulnerability for once. All he ever wanted was love, but because he was put in a box as your typical playboy he ran with it. No one wanted to truly take the time to know him, other than using him for looks, and his body.

I could relate to Ro in so many ways, because she is a hopeless romantic who wanted the same as Freddy, to be loved. But she was in a toxic relationship that she couldn't get out of because, she had been manipulated. Constantly being left, and yet going back to a narcissistic man. This book was a very slow burn, and I enjoyed that because we really got to see both their perspectives when it came to fear of falling in love, and trusting someone with their trauma.

oh man i love peyton so so much. this was PERFECT

right before reading this, i reread unsteady so everything would be fresh in my mind and i am so glad i did!! i lowkey forgot about freddy so it was super nice having him fresh in my mind. i also loved seeing unsteady scenes from ro & freddy’s povs. getting their thoughts/feelings about situations where i knew sadie & rhys’ feelings was very special. i really hope peyton keeps the rest of the series occurring during the same timeline!!

okay now to ro & freddy!! we know i’m not the biggest fan of slowburns but this was perfect! the different stages & progression of their relationship flowed so well. they’re truly made for each other <3

also i’m kind of mad peyton’s making me almost like toren??? i wanted to hate him but i don’t think i do anymore (sad)

i am really excited to see what else is to come from this series!
