Brilliant! I love these British mysteries. Is it a supressed need to travel again? Is it the different investigative techniques? Authors? Fast paced and completely plausible plot and sub-plots kept me up way past my bedtime. I sure sign of a great read on my personal scale.

I'm a deep fan of mysteries, thrillers and detective stories. Broadchurch was on Masterpiece Mystery several years ago and the tv series was beautifully done and absolutely gripping. I'd watched it more than once and was fascinated with the carefully woven in clues and the build up of suspense.

The book Broadchurch delivers the same mix of careful buildup and emotional upheaval. It's a wellcrafted, completely absorbing mystery. Read it - even if you've watched the series! It'll take you away for hours on end.

If you are like me and have trouble understanding the Scottish dialect on the Netflix series, this book will be a satisfying and helpful book to read. The characters are complex and reading helped me sort out a lot of my misunderstandings.

I am reading everything I can find by this author now. The book was well paced and I enjoyed the protagonist very much. Will be looking forward to more.
