Short spicy story of a girl and two guy friends. Overall, it was a good quick read if you’re looking for a spicy book. I believe it could’ve been a smoother story telling in first person pov instead of third person.
I wanted to like this book but struggled to get into it. I didn't feel connected to any of the characters and the spice wasnt hitting.
Three friends, two men one woman, decide to move their relationship forward in a sexual way. Erotic menage romance.
This was a fun book. I enjoyed seeing the relationship develop from friendship to more. I wish the book would have been longer but it is a short story. Enjoyed the light read.
If you want a quick fun read to take your mind off things (!) or during that coffee break, then I read this short story in just over 15 minutes! As the 'Disclaimer' says 'If you're looking for a full-length plot, this is not the book for you'. The book has a very basic plot, that seems to start mid-story line! But who cares because there are lots of other books out there with deeper, meaningful plot and character development to read. This book is about some spice and fun.
Honest review in return for an eARC
This was a super quick and easy read. I did find quite a few spelling errors & funny sounding sentences but ignoring all that it was a fun read!
I wouldn’t waste my time on this one if I could go back tbh! 50 off pages of mediocre spice with no plot. If it’s just shmex on the page… it needs to be a really good shmex I’m sorry to say!
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book!
Ava Colt’s Take Two explores the complex dynamics of a throuple between three college friends who reunite and find themselves navigating both past feelings and new desires. The story centers on the reconnection of three individuals whose bond goes beyond friendship, sparking a journey of self-discovery, trust, and deepening attraction.
I really enjoyed this short story! It’s the perfect, steamy little treat for when you’re looking for a quick, satisfying romance, that is also spice plenty. Colt does a great job capturing the chemistry and tension between the characters, making their connection feel authentic and passionate. Whether you’re a fan of new adult romance or just in need of a fun, light-hearted escape, Take Two is well worth the read.
This short story was just okay. I didn't really connect to any of the characters but it was entertaining so i guess that's all I can ask from a 50 page story.
This story wasn't for me. It read a bit like a highschooler read Fifty Shades and thought "I could write this" and fell short.
If you're looking for a quick read, a palate cleanser between books, then this is your book! There's not a lot of depth or character development but there is lots of spice!! I would love to have a full story to get to know these 3 better, but I also enjoyed it for what it was!
Take Two: : A Contemporary New Adult Sexy Short Story
Ava Colt
This is an adult erotic novel. This book isn’t for everyone, but no book is. This is not a full-length novel. The main character in this tale is female, she is quiet, keeps to herself, she is an introvert. She is best friends with two males. She has known them since college.
Anne, Nathaniel and Theo are best friends that go to school together. Both Nathaniel and Theo are attracted to Anne; they fantasize about her. They travel around Europe together having hot steamy sexy along the way.
The plot of this book is rather weak however the steamy parts are well worth reading. The story is told in third person. The author uses time shift frequently which causes some confusion. There were a few places where the scenes needed more detail. The spice in this book is interesting but was repetitive, the same thing over and over. At times Anne felt innocent but at other times she felt experienced.
This tale has great potential and with a bit of tweaking here and there it can be a great read.
Thank you NetGalley for the review copy of Take Two. My reviews are my personal opinions.
Take Two by Ava Colt is a super fast read about 3 college friends Anne, Theo, andNathaniel decide to take their friendship to the next level. Anne has always wanted to try something like this but has never found the right person. Theo and Nathaniel had been wanting to approach Anne about the idea but they were aftraid that it would end their friendship. Now with all three of them on the same page they move into uncharted territory. This is a very steamy book that won't leave you disappointed at all.
Take Two A Contemporary New Adult Sexy Short Story is about a mfm college student friends to lovers. Finding their way to settle into their kind of erotic relationship on their terms.
Will watch out for more from this author.
An easy to read, addictive, short and steamy story. A gorgeous MFM love story with a really sweet ending. I really enjoyed it!
Short and steamy quick read. Three friends who finished college and decide to take a trip round Europe, can they still be friends and lovers?

This was hot. It was spicy. There was multiple players in this game. Just some of my favourite things.
If you are purely here to read about men sticking their D’s in her V then you have come (😉) to the right place.
It was such a good in between read for me. I frothed it in a day and the storyline between these three was really sweet.
You’ve got MFM, there is no sword crossing in this. She doesn’t believe that these 2 men want her when actually they’d like nothing more than to paint her in walls white (my favourite way of describing finishing inside a women so far, chefs kiss)
If your looking to just decompress and not have to use any brain cells to comprehend to understand a book, this one is for you. Great if you have come off the back of something really heavy or long or complicated
Thank you Netgalley for an arc of this book.
Where do I even begin... this book follows three friends who sleep together constantly. That's it. That's the story. Unfortunately I didn't feel this book was necessary and the characters had no personality. Sadly this book was not for me.
Honestly, Take Two was a disappointment. The writing felt like something straight out of Wattpad, lacking depth and sophistication. The plot seemed forced, with little character development or meaningful conflict. The dialogue was cringy at best, and at times, it felt like the author was trying way too hard to sound dramatic.
The worst part for me, though, was the sex scenes. They were poorly written—awkward, uncomfortable, and just… cringy. It seemed like they were included for shock value, but they ended up being completely off-putting. It’s as if the author didn’t have a clear understanding of chemistry or intimacy, which made the scenes feel more awkward than steamy.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this book. It tries to be steamy and emotional, but it falls flat in every aspect. If you're looking for something well-written and engaging, this is not it.
A quick Sexy MFM menage about three long term friends who act on their attraction and engage in a summer of fun.
This was nice and quick and very succinct. It didn't weigh down on a ton of backstory but you know what brought these three together and what has been building for quite some time.
It was a perfect story to read before bed!
