Really entertaining from page 1. Strong plot and really strong characters. I also really enjoyed the writing! It's really fast paced, there was always something happening. I thought I was going to know what the final reveal was but I was not expecting where the story went. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 sometime in the near future!

I really loved the narration, I was already a fan of Amy as a narrator so I knew I would like this.

Everly is seventeen, and her life was pretty normal until she witnessed a tragic death. Now, she can see grimms, supernatural creatures and has an invite to attend Gravemark, an exclusive school where she will be trained to track and reap grimms. It’s dangerous, and a serial grimm killer is on the loose. Its up to Everly to solve the case.

This was a really enjoyable YA book, full of mystery and plot twists. I really enjoyed the characters and thought they were well developed for the first book in a series. The plot was interesting, well paced, and kept me engaged throughout the entire story. I loved the concept of the Grimm Society and Gravemark. There were so many details and little hints about who the mystery serial killer was throughout the book which was fun to reflect on once the answer was revealed. I listened to the audio and Amy McFadden did an excellent job bringing the story to life. The narration was clear even when sped up. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series!

Thank you to Tantor Audio and NetGalley for the ALC.

A really easy listen and really enjoyed the narrator! I am such a fan of Nancy Drew, so when I saw that in the bio, I was super excited. The plot was interesting and sucked you in right away, but some areas did feel a bit flat and boring. Overall the production was great and enjoyed this book via audio!

This was a fun and very quick listen. I enjoyed the narration, which suited the story perfectly in both tone and tenor. The story itself is an oft-told one, but Hahn still managed to change things up enough to keep my attention throughout, and to wonder what might come next. The pacing is well managed and keeps you in the story throughout. It definitely feels like the setup to a sequel or series, and I would listen to future installments happily!

Wow! I devoured this audio ALC on a few hours as I didn’t want to stop listening! I was floored that it had come out early in the year, has a sequel and a third coming out soon! How is this title not more popular?

I am thankful to have gotten an ALC for free from Netgalley and Tantor audio to enjoy which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

This was such a well written YA offering which flowed easily. I enjoyed the narration as well. It was very slow but that was easily remedied by changing the speed rate.

I can’t wait to read the next one as that to me is the mark of a good book when you don’t want to leave the world created.

My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.

⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again

Surprisingly good story! While it was kinda short I finished it in a day it was fun and enjoyable.

The whole Everly-Hunter-Ian dynamic was giving me some Violet-Dain-Xaden vibes and I ship Everly and Ian so damn hard! Hunter can suck it

I'm looking forward to reading the next book which I will likely also finish in a day as I'm hooked.

This book definitely deserves more hype.
Thanks NetGalley for the audio arc! I loved it!

The concept of becoming a griever (one who has seen someone die) in order to be able to see the supernatural world and the grimms that inhabit it was interesting. That is what drew me to this book first. It got me through the very common triangle of new girl (Everly) coming into powers and being extra special (ex: getting an omen early, though I do love Corvis and his cheekiness) and coming to the attention of best friend's older brother and at her new school, the resident bad boy. I did make faces a few times at the description of Everly melting to mush right in the middle of a fight for her life after spying Hunter in the crowd (really?!) but it got better, much better when she had the mystery of missing, dead, and injured people in the woods. Her dad had trained her for that kind of thing so it was fun to see her use her detective skills (especially when she fingerprinted an area even before the cops arrived after the break in). And was able to put everything together in time for the big finish, though there are definitely open questions (like Ian with his issue) that will need to be solved, probably in the next book. It will be nice to see what Stevens will do, and Kat is cool too and deserves more screen time.

So, I will rate this a fun listen. The narrator did a great job in differentiating all the characters and brought them to life, making the world they inhabit a place that I mostly enjoyed (except for some dumb teenage choices) and I do want to find out what is next for the students of Gravemark and their future griever work.

Thank you Tantor Audio, NetGalley, Chanda Hahn, and narrator Amy McFaddon for sharing this amazing story with me. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint at all. Everly Hart is 17 and has just lost her father when she gets sent to Gravemark, an elite boarding school for very unique students. The students there have all faced tragic deaths and are “grievers” and in Everly’s case she can see all types of supernatural entities. The students are trained to hunt and kill or trap these monsters to protect the human beings who have no idea what is happening around them. At the same time, Everly also has to deal with two boys that she is interested in—after all they are still in high school and a little bit of romance mixed in between monster hunting what more could a girl ask for? Absolutely a fun and entertaining story and I cannot wait to read more about these wonderful characters. Hopefully we get to see many more stories about The Grimm Society and all their adventures.

I listened to this book in audio form. The narrator did fall a bit flat for me with some of the characters. I wanted a little more excitement. This book was interesting. It’s basically a monster hunting book, by people with the sight to see them. The main FMC goes to a new school where they hunt Grimms and everything comes to her naturally. This is a pretty quick paced read full of All the creatures from fairytales. The characters are lovable, although I wish they would have developed a little more. The plot was good. Although we’ve seen different variations of this plot, it literally never gets old if it’s done right. I liked this and will be reading book 2.

On a whim, I requested The Grimm Society because usually anything having to do with The Brother's Grimm is along my alley of things I want to read. I was more than excited to find out this is a supernatural, fantasy, magic-school, slow-burn teen romance with a bit of mystery as well.

Thought it sounds like there is a lot going on, this book was really good and I had a great time with it. I did have the audiobook and thought the narrator did a fantastic job with bringing Everly Hart to life.

Everly is a semi-normal teen who's detective dad is constantly putting her through the detective wringer and making her escape the clutches of his impromptu scenarios for her own good and ensuring she can look out for herself. The problem is: he's been keeping a couple of really big secrets from her.

Her wealthy best friend Holland is actually super nice and one of those girls who may seem like she could be catty but is really just genuinely awesome and I love her as a bestie for Everly. Hunter, Holland's older brother, is a different complication all together but I will let you figure him out for yourself.

When tragedy strikes and Everly finds herself with an invitation to an exclusive school to Gravemark school. She needs all the skills her dad taught her to survive, She also needs to figure out if she's going to be wooed by the brooding Ian or the hunky Hunter who also happens to have a girlfriend. Oh and did I mention all of the supernatural beings coming out of the woodwork now? So good, I can't wait for the next book!

It definitely gave me "Nancy Drew" meets "Vampire Academy" vibes! I loved the blend of dark fairy tale elements with the suspense of supernatural mystery. I was hooked right from the start as Everly Hart, a relatable yet tough heroine, navigates her new reality of seeing grimms after witnessing a tragic death. The concept of a secret society training teens to hunt supernatural creatures is such a cool twist. The world-building at Gravemark is immersive, and the mystery at the heart of the story kept me guessing. It’s dark, exciting, and full of twists that make you rethink every character.

The audiobook narration was amazing, perfectly capturing Everly's emotions and the intensity of her journey. The story's pace kept me engaged, and the mix of action, danger, and a hint of romance was spot-on. If you're a fan of supernatural thrillers with a strong female lead, mysterious creatures, and twists that keep you guessing, The Grimm Society is definitely one to check out!

This book is a ya mystery/fantasy with a bit of romance in it since the main character is stuck in a love triangle between her best friend's brother and the misterious guy. I felt like both the narrator and the storyline were really engaging, and even if i'm usally distracted when listening an audiobook, with this one i wanted to absorve everything. My main complaints are about the main characters who is describe as a not like other girl type, but i guess it's a usual thing, and the dialogue sometimes felt very childish (I'm 18 years old, a year older than the main character and i would never talk like that). But if you're looking for a some ya fantasy mixed up with mystery and romance this is really a great choice, and i can't wait to read the other books in this series.
Thank you netgalley and Audio Excerpt for this incredible arc!

'The Grimm Society' is the first book of The Grimm Society series and it combines the YA school genre with mystery in a supernatural universe.

The story is pretty fast paced, almost too fast at times, as, in the end, the mystery was conveniently solved, which, for some part, it didn't make sense how our main character put things together, when she couldn't really figure out the most obvious clues. Also, there were some parts of the plot that felt disjointed and didn't develop organically in the plot.

Still, the mystery, in the end, was solid, and the main character was very interesting and adorable. The love interests were in theory stereotypical love interests but there were some toxic elements to their behavior, which were not talked about enough in retrospect. Spoiler!! Like Hunter being a jerk towards her before she joins him at school or that he had a girlfriend while he was flirting with our main lead. Or with Ian being a horrible mentor and leaving her injured and alone after her first battle!

The Grimm Society follows Everly as she experiences loss, followed by a new understanding that everything is not what it seems.

I was not expecting to cry so early in this book! Trigger warning for anyone who has lost someone they deeply cared for.

I enjoyed the secret society and academic setting, as well as figuring out the mystery of what was going on. There were enough clues to guess some of the secrets, but not all of them. I’m excited to read more of this series!

The Grimm Society by Chanda Hahn offers a fresh take on supernatural mystery, blending dark fairy tales with a thrilling investigation. Seventeen-year-old Everly Hart becomes a "griever" after witnessing a tragic death, gaining the ability to see supernatural creatures known as grimms. Her invitation to Gravemark, a school for training grievers, adds an exciting twist as her school assignments turn deadly.

The mix of mystery, danger, and supernatural elements makes this book highly engaging. Hahn’s storytelling is original, keeping readers hooked as Everly tries to solve a series of murders involving grimms. Fans of Nancy Drew and Vampire Academy will appreciate the balance of suspense, fantasy, and investigative twists. The combination of high-stakes drama and clever mysteries makes this a fascinating read.

The narration was really immersive and I could see everything taking place inside my mind.

I devoured this book in like 5 hours.

The way Chanda writes is such an easy flowing way that makes the reader feel apart of the story instantly. Theres alot of worldbuilding that needs to happen but because Everly is right there with you nothing feels like an infodump or that your missing out on anything.
The fantasy is weaved perfectly into the story to the point that it feels like it could be real-life.

More then that the mystery aspects of the story are so fucking perfect that while you don't know who it is at all times when the secret is read your able to see every single clue you missed and can truely believe that missed the clues and not that they weren't given too you.
Loved it and will be continuing the series.

The audiobook was just as amazing I truely felt like Amy McFadden brought these characters to life. Everyone had a voice of their own without it feeling over done. I almost put on a fantasy soundtrack underneath the audiobook to make it feel even more like a movie. The voices and the story made the perfect experience while reading this story..
