Very cute little picture book. While there isn't much a story, the illustrations are darling and allow children to discover fun scenes while creating talking/sharing points for parents.

With some animals in a forest to act things out, a little child asks a caregiver, what things they will teach them. They reply with various basic concepts, such as colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and also basic concepts of Christian faith, such as right and wrong, grace, prayer, and God's love. Interactive prompts at the bottom of each page encourage readers to do a little activity, such as count, say colors, or identify letters.
At first I was a little confused by this because I didn't get that they were combining both everyday basic concepts and faith-based basic concepts. It feels a little disjointed, but the book does cover basic things a Christian parent would want to impart to a child. The rhyming scheme is done well, and the artwork is attractive. At one point the book talks about what to do when you're scared and a snake is threatening the animals (it is in the background of all the pages previous to this sneaking around). Some kids may find the snake scary, so know the child you read this to.

This is a cute little picture book with a religious focus talking about all the different things you can learn, such as reading and math. Its lighthearted and fun. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this.

What will You Teach Me us a fun and highly interactive read aloud. The author makes a point that we can see God’s work in everything we do. God is the inventor of all things we can learn, and parents get to help teach those things to their children.
Each page offers the chance for listeners to add input. What is your favorite food, which animal is misbehaving and can you figure out which letters are missing?
The message is delivered by a group of adorable, joyful animals as they discover that everything we learn was created by God. Children will love finding little details in Pablo Pino’s illustrations involving numbers, music, food, right and wrong, and that God is the creator of all those things!
I recommend this book as a read aloud for ages 3-7

I appreciate Adam Griffin's excellent work on the Family Discipleship Podcast and was looking forward to reading this new book, but ultimately it felt a little disjointed to me. With the way each page focuses on a different subject, it jumps around and doesn't flow as well as I'd like in a read-aloud for my kids. I might have preferred seeing some of the concepts more fleshed out in separate books rather than pieced together into a single book. That being said, I do think that the basic concepts in the book are good and that some toddlers will connect with it, particularly through the prompts on each page that will allow them to participate.

Adorable book with a great message. I look forward to using this book in my preschool classroom and giving it as a gift. Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read it.

A little too preachy for me but if you are looking for that this is a good book.

Above All Things, Teach Me About Jesus-
What will you teach me about animals, art, letters, numbers, music, right and wrong, being afraid and prayer? And what will you teach me about Jesus?
A cheerful brown bear teaches the rest of this vast array of forest animals. I love that every page points the reader to God and includes a footnoted question for discussion.
The illustrations are bright and colorful, giving the book a sense of wonder and detailed enough to have plenty to talk about. A perfect picture book for ages 2-5.
I received this book from the author/publisher free of charge, with no expectation of a positive review.

I like the pattern this book follows. First there is a question, what will you teach me about animals/letters/music/etc then a reply that shows how all of the things we learn can help us relate to God. Each page also has a conversational question to ask the child listening like “what is your favorite food?” The illustrations are cute with animals all engaged in the different lessons or activities. The content and length are just right for a good lap read with a 2-5 year old or a group read with a small class.
Thanks to NetGalley and B&H Kids for an early copy to read and review. This book will come out in February 2025.

"What Will You Teach Me?" is an adorable picture book aimed to teach and remind children that God is the All-Knowing Creator of all things. Through lyrical writing and lots of rhyming words, this book is a reminder of how God has made and given us everything and that things like learning numbers and letters and animal facts are opportunities to learn together about the God who made them. I found this to be an excellent reminder as a parent as well!
Definitely recommend!

A sweet look at what parents teach their children and how we connect through these teaching opportunities. The book reminds children that God is the creator and giver of all things. It shows that our God is full of wisdom and order. Parents will appreciate the truths conveyed and little ones will appreciate the rhyming language and playful illustrations.

This book was absolutely darling! My four kids and I adored this story. The storyline was just so cute. Highly recommend.

The more that you learn as I help you grow, the more you'll see God wherever you go.
A sweet board book on learning. Learning about letters, numbers, animals, and the gospel. The illustrations invites learning and the cadence is soothing.

A lovely walk through what as a parent we have a responsibility to teach our children about creation, art, letters, numbers, and the gospel. I love how interactive and lively the illustrations are. This book engaged my toddler and he wanted to explore each page.
