An inspirational story of love told from the character Jake’s pov. I loved the interest in horses as Jake is a blacksmith. It was a very good Amish story.
Many thanks to Harvest House Publishers and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
The Amish Blacksmith is another delightful story in the Men of Lancaster County series. The characters are as wonderful as the storyline, which is thought provoking and will encourage you to grow in faith.
Amish Blacksmith is a smashing book! and to say that I really enjoyed it might be an understatement. I love the cute romance that develops between Jake and Priscilla when she returns to Lancaster County. And while most Amish romances follow the same sort of trope, to which The Amish Blacksmith is no exception, it is written in such a way that the storyline seems fresh and new.
I have to say that if you haven't read an Amish Romance before, The Amish Blacksmith is a great introduction to the Amish culture. you can tell the authors have put effort into researching this story, as well as written it so beautifully, The Amish Blacksmith is definitely a 5-star book.
This book is written through the perspective of Jake who is an Amish blacksmith. He is courting Amanda and he seems very content with the way things are going. Things begin to change when Priscilla, a young lady from his past is brought back into his life.
Jake begins to question things that he thought were perfectly clear before she entered his life. Priscilla is definitely an unpredictable young woman that Jake was not use to.
Throughout the book it was interesting watching how Jake and Priscilla grow in so many ways. I enjoyed the interactions between them. If you like reading about the Amish, horses and a bit of romance, you will probably like this book.
