The premise of a non-teenage hero is extremely promising for any reader who is not also 18! Ha ha
At this point, I think most of us are damn near desperate for anyone over the age of 25 managing to save the day.
So, the idea of someone in their 40s being the key sounds like a great idea to me!

I definitely liked that the authors did not have her just up and leave her family, I like that she consistently fought for them and it wasn’t that she had to leave her world in order to save it. A lot of fantasy books seem to have the hero leave their family in life as it was in order to save the world, which is a certain type of cruelty.

The middle of the book got kind of long-winded for me, and I felt that what little action did take place could have been more succinct.

The ending wrapped up pretty nicely, so I’m not sure if it’s going to be a series or not, but I don’t think I’ll be continuing with the series, it was a little too slow paced for my extremely ADHD self

This is the first time I have read a book by this author. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the characters and the story. It was both exciting and exhilarating. I will definitely be on the lookout for more books written by this gifted and entertaining author. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone wanting to try something new and intriguing.

I went into this book really excited to see how the premise would work out. Unfortunately I struggled through the last half of the book. I found the build up fun but once we began to get to the meat of the story of investigating and trying to move the story along it began to fall flat, with me forcing myself to push forward and ask why was this information/scene included. I do wish we would've gotten more scenes either exploring the fae lands or with Angie's family, the rest just kinda felt like filler.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sterling & Stone for this e-arc. All reviews are my own opinion

Cute and light urban fantasy - an unlikely housewife is thrown into a world of witches, elves, and fairies - as the warrior to save them from the wicked warlock. Many slapstick moments and a lot of action. Entertaining for any age, will appeal to YA, no graphic gore or spice.

I really enjoyed the older main character and the humorous elements that enriched the plot. There were moments, though, where things felt a bit confusing—perhaps intentionally so, given that the main character was also grappling with a lot of uncertainty.

This was a strong start to the Forty Something Fury series, it had that element that I wanted from the urban fantasy genre. I enjoyed the overall story going on and how the characters worked in this story going on. I was glad I got to read this and am excited to read more from Paige Andrews and Bryon Cahill.

Thank you Paige Andrews, Bryon Cahill, Netgalley and Sterling & Stone for this free ARC in exchange for a review.

It's rare to find new novels these days which have distinct characters and a story-line which holds attention, but this book does that, and does it well.

I hope this will turn into a series, cause I'd keep reading even if I didn't get an ARC.

This started out ok with an interesting premise. Then I struggled to finish the last 2/3 of the book. I wasn’t invested in any of the characters and wasn’t sure if it was meant to be funny or not. There were inconsistencies throughout (an example is in Chapter 14 where she hears the footsteps and door close after a loud gunshot that has her ears ringing). The banter was kind of strange.

I was given a copy by the publisher via NetGalley (thank you!) and all opinions are my own.

I was really looking forward to an entertaining story. This started out nicely enough, with good character development. Sadly, once Angie accepted the premise of coexisting otherworldly characters, it did not carry through very well. It is a very interesting premise, but the writing just felt hurried and lacking. I did not finish the book. I don’t know if I just had too high expectations or not. I found myself gradually forcing myself to continue reading, and eventually gave up. Again, it is an interesting story, just needs a little more development. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review.
