This is the perfect crochet book! Leapman created a really comprehensive and well thought out book. This guide covers everything you’d need to know and includes some really fun stitches and patterns. I will definitely be buying this one for myself.

Here we have a book with complex crochet patterns.
As with the starter stitches book, there are amazing photos with amazingly coloured patterns, and the steps and tips are very valuable.

I've been crocheting for over 40 years and I still love a good stitch dictionary. Just spending time looking at stitches and stitch combinations can bring joy and inspiration--gets the ideas moving. This is an excellent resource for those relatively new to crochet, those with decades of experience, and everyone in between. For newer crocheters, there is plenty of useful information contained in this compact volume, but not so much that it becomes overwhelming. For those with more experience, there are excellent photos of fabrics created with various stitches and stitch combinations to spur design ideas. Each stitch pattern includes a photo, written instructions, and stitch charts. The stitches are grouped in chapters as follows: textured patterns (including cables), colorwork (including mosaic crochet and spike stitches), and fancy edgings. The book begins with an introduction that contains useful information about measuring for gauge and what to look for when substituting yarns in commercial patterns. The book ends with a chapter titled Resources, which explain international crochet symbols, tips on reading charts, techniques, instructions for basic stitches with illustrations, stitch variations, and tips on working with color. I've taught crochet to individuals and in a local yarn shop and I would definitely recommend this book to those wanting to go beyond the bare basics, those building on existing skills, and those who just want to have stitchy inspiration at their fingertips.

This is a great book to read after the beginner book! I’m so new to crochet and need all the help I can get! Loved this too and I’m looking forward to being more adventurous with my crochet now!

Like the one before it, it is amazing. It has a great amount of stitches, and they range from fairly easy, to hard, and I love that. Some of the stitches in this book are stitches I use normally of I want a cool texture, like the waffle stitch. I also love thet they have color work as that can be hard for people, and once again I love the crochet charts.

After reading through Melissa Leapman’s book of Essential Crochet Starter Stitches, the Next-Level stitches are incredible! There are a lot of things I’ve never seen before, and I’m looking forward to trying some of them! As with her first book, I really appreciate that there is a photo example, written instructions, and charts to follow so that people can learn in any method that works for them.

I had a lot of fun trying out some new stitches. So far I only tried a few swatches of the stitches that looked the most interesting to me but I can also see myself making a big project out of some of the stitches.

The instructions for the different stitches are detailed and each stitch also has an according drawing of which stitches you need and how it's supposed to look like. It' also very helpful that in the end of the book are the basic stitches explained and shown how to do them.

I had some trouble while I tried out some of the stitches but I am pretty sure that it will be easier after doing it for a few times. I really liked the diversity of stitches and all the different things you could crochet with it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarry Books for this EARC!

The instructions and crochet charts were easy to follow and there were several stitches I haven't come across before and would like to try. I will definitely be purchasing this book in print format once released so that I can have fun creating larger projects with lots of variety.

I received this DRC from NetGalley.

This book has the same look as the starter crochet version. Again, the photos were clear, as were the instructions. There is a good amount of variation in the stitches presented, and included faux cables, which were new to me. I think the only thing I didn't love about this book were the yarn color choices used in the colorwork section. The book does such a good job otherwise of making everything aesthetically pleasing, yet put colors together that didn't work. But, of course, that's just a superficial criticism that doesn't change the clarity of the stitch pattern.

Essential Crochet Next-Level Stitches is a good resource to learn how to add textures and edging to your work.
It also has a section on how to read charts that will be a great help to beginners.

I’m a new crocheter and this book made me realize how much more I still have to learn - wow there are so many stitches, options for bordering etc. I loved how this book broke down with photos, step by step instructions and an intensive index that breaks down how to read patterns and examples on how to do stitches step by step. Highly recommend. Also super loved the up close photos so you can compare your work to the example stitch. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free advanced copy of this ebook to review. All opinions are my own.

Admittedly, I didn't think I was at a level with my crocheting yet where I'd be confident I could utilize these stitches, but this book has given me goals to strive for. Each one is laid out in a way that makes it easy to understand.

There are so many beautiful stitches included, I can't wait to try them all

Thank you Quarry Books and NetGalley for the eARC of Essential Crochet Next-Level Stitches! All opinions in this book are my own.

This is an excellent resource experienced crocheters! I like how it includes stitches and edging techniques! While I will be ordering a physical copy of this book for my own reference, some of these stitches are definitely going to be a challenge for me!

All the stitch patterns in Essential Crochet Next-Level Stitches are really interesting and beautiful to look at. The book is split into three sections: textured stitches, colourwork and edging. I thought the textured stitches were the most interesting to look at and I will definitely be incorporating a few of these into my own projects. The patterns were very clear and easy to understand. Additionally I liked that at the back there is a section on how to do different stitches and how to read charts etc.

Overall I enjoyed flipping through this stitch dictionary and would recommend it to intermediate/advanced crocheters looking for a new challenge!
