Thank you Sara for writing your courageous memoir to help others by sharing your story for those living with a legacy of trauma. This book is for anyone you who is a sexual assault survivor and for their loved ones. Sara walks the reader through how to get to the other side of trauma with resilience and hope. The book includes useful resources and strategies for how to manage and cope with trauma and work through victimhood to empowerment.

When I requested this book, I didn’t realize it was a memoir and thought it was a book helping trauma survivors heal. There are some basic tools in here for healing, but it is fundamentally her story of events she survived. Davidson details the tsunami, sexual assault and traumatic birth she experienced and talks about what helped her (somewhat) heal. She writes in a very detached way and while I empathized with her I had trouble connecting with her as another trauma survivor.

I read a digital ARC of this book via netgalley.

Any Body Can Heal is a journey of courage and strength through unspeakable tragedy. The author shows incredible bravery in sharing the darkest moments of her life and the repercussions those traumas have had on her and those who love her. She is a shining example of someone struggling through the darkness of trauma, finding and accepting help, managing setbacks, and charting a pathway to healing on her terms. Sharing practical examples of psychotherapy techniques that worked and didn’t work for her serves as inspiration for anyone seeking treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and looking to take control of their journey.

In Any Body Can Heal, Sara delivers a deeply moving and courageous account of her personal journey through trauma and toward healing. It stands out not only for its honesty but for the hope it conveys to readers navigating their own struggles. What makes Any Body Can Heal compelling is Sara shows healing is not linear, but an ongoing process. One of the most powerful aspects of this book is the message of hope and survival. Sara does not suggest that trauma can simply be "overcome" or forgotten, but rather that healing is possible through compassion, self-care, and perseverance. Her journey of rebuilding her life piece by piece serves as an inspiring testament to the human spirit’s capacity for resilience. A fitting name for the book. It is an essential read for trauma survivors, their loved ones, and anyone seeking to better understand the long-term effects of trauma on the mind, body and soul and finding the path to recovery.
