Stealing for keeps is the first book in the Frost Lake High series. It is a high school, soccer, secret relationship story full of sizzling chemistry, all the feels, humor and rivalry. It's a cute, fun read about discovering oneself and dealing with forbidden love. This was an enjoyable read and I can't wait for more in this series.

3 ⭐ 1 🌶️

I want to preface this by saying I adore Rebecca Jenshak and her adult novels. I picked this one up because of my love for her stories. However, this one just wasn't for me... It's very much a young adult story that takes place in high school with high school problems causing the conflict. They were surprisingly mature, but I still just couldn't get into the Hugh school drama that fed the story.

The characters were so sweet and I did love the overall storyline. I actually got most of my enjoyment from Austin and Vaughn's storyline to be honest. Their character arcs were really well done and I loved the growth with both of them.

All in all I'd highly recommend this one to young adults and even older teens, but it just wasn't for me.

I absolutely loved Stealing for Keeps by Rebecca Jenshak! This book had everything I look for in a romance—great chemistry, engaging characters, and just the right mix of swoon-worthy moments and emotional depth. From the very first page, I was hooked by the dynamic between the main characters, and their journey kept me turning pages late into the night.

Rebecca Jenshak does a fantastic job of blending humor, heart, and heat, making the story feel both fun and deeply emotional. The romance was perfectly paced, with plenty of tension and build-up that made every moment between the characters even more satisfying. Their connection felt real, and I loved how their relationship developed naturally throughout the book.

The writing was engaging, the dialogue was sharp, and the story had just the right amount of drama without ever feeling overdone. Whether you’re already a fan of Rebecca Jenshak or discovering her for the first time, Stealing for Keeps is a must-read for anyone who loves a well-written romance with lovable characters and a storyline that keeps you invested until the very end. Highly recommend!

This is a very feel good, sweet YA romance book. In the story we follow Austin and Claire.

Austin, he came all the way from Arizona to Frost Lake to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional soccer player. Claire, on the other hand feeling lost after breaking her leg and his skating dream. When these two meet they feel a pull towards each other. But Claire is the ex-girlfriend of Austin's teammate and his team captain.

This sound so complicated and complex but trust me the story is so sweet. I love how the author shows the relationship build up between the protagonist. Yes, it's kind of slow, but I love reading the slow progress, the family dynamics, the friendships. I also love when both the protagonists try to seperate themselves to sort out each of their feelings. Somehow I absolutely agree with the "third act breakup" in the book, even though I'm not a fond of that.

Overall the book is good, and if you are trying to find some feel good, heartwarming, YA sports romance, then you should pick it up. And I'm also very much excited for Rowan and Vaughan more.

Omg. This book was SOOOOO sweet!!!! This book has big Better Than the Movies vibes which I LOVED!! Oh and I read it in 2 days.

I’m pretty sure this was my first soccer romance, and it didn’t disappoint!! If you enjoy YA romances, this is one you DO NOT want to miss!!

From their *sparkly* meet cute, Austin and Claire have a connection that, as much as they try, they can’t ignore. Their only hiccup? Claire’s ex-boyfriend who also happens to be the captain of the soccer team Auston just joined.

This book will totally take you back to your truth-or-dare days, getting ready for dances where you hope the boy you’re crushing on asks you to dance. It’s sweet, swoony, sparkly, and soccer-y! (It’s an S word…just go with it.)

Just read it. Trust me 😉🥰

Tropes:

-dual POV
-soccer romance
-teammate’s ex
-forbidden romance
-secret dating
-he falls first
-friends to lovers

It has been a minute since I read a YA high school romance. I was raised on high school dramas. This was a reminder of how much I still love them. There is something so wholesome about young love. I know, it's so cliche. I was initially weary of signing up to ARC read this book. I am glad I didn’t sleep on it. Rebecca’s writing is always incredible.

Austin is the new kid in town, and after being dared to kiss a pretty girl at a party, he quickly finds himself in the not-so-good graces of the soccer team captain. That pretty girl is Claire, and she just so happens to be the captain’s ex. Oh, the drama. I loved it.

The beautiful part of this story is Claire and Austin’s friendship. Claire has difficulty dealing with an injury that puts her out of competitive figure skating. She misses skating and feeling like she has something to work towards. Austin makes it his mission to help her find another hobby. I love this plotline. It is endearing.

This book is available on KU. If you are like me and enjoy YA books and young love, you should check out this one.

This is the first book by Rebecca Jenshak that I’ve read, but it definitely won’t be the last, because I fell in love with it.

I really liked the writing style, it clicked with me right away.

The characters completely charmed me, and I enjoyed both the main and supporting ones. I liked that Vaughn didn’t stay a jerk till the end but turned out to be a really decent and nice character, someone whose story we’d want to see. I also really liked Lacey; I think she’s a great friend. I enjoyed Rowan’s character too, as he’s the perfect mix of fun and seriousness. I’m not sure who the next couple in this series will be, but I’d love to see Lacey either with Vaughn (that would be a good enemies-to-lovers) or with Rowan (I imagined her with him most of the book).

I adore Austin, he’s one of the most wonderful male characters I’ve read this year. But that’s not so surprising, as I tend to fall for male characters easily. What is surprising, though, is that Claire became one of my favorite female characters, which rarely happens. The only person who annoyed me was her mom, and I’m glad she softened up a bit in the end.

The chemistry between Austin and Claire was palpable, you could feel it from the first page.

All in all, if you’re looking for a super sweet high school football romance, this is definitely the book for you. Highly recommend!

This book is a sweet, cute, innocent book about high school romance. Austin moves across the country to play soccer for a retired professional soccer player in high school because his dream is to play professionally. The family picks up and moves to make this dream happen, but not all are happy. His sister is upset the most by it, which what teenage girl wouldn't be. Claire is struggling after an injury. She was a competitive figure skater who had a career ending injury. On top of that, her boyfriend, of 2 years, broke up with her to focus on soccer. She is feeling lost and doesn't know what to do with her life.

The meet cute for Claire and Austin was adorable. She got glitter all over him on his way to his first soccer practice with his new team. Cue the fun nickname Disco for him. The story had high school drama, especially since Claire is the coach's sons ex who wants her back. They keep their relationship secret, so Austin doesn't get iced out on the team, but of course, everything comes out eventually.

Claire and Austin were so cute together. He was in my head an ideal high school boyfriend that you would have wanted. The story also had wonderful side characters that kept the storyline interesting.

This book doesn't have the normal amount of spice i read, but it was an easy read (finished it in one day) with really wonderful parts to it.

As a soccer player/fan, I am SO HAPPY to have more soccer romances! This was so fun to read and brought me back to my high school experiences. I thought that it represented high school drama and maturity well! It looks like there will be more in this series and I will 100% be reading them when they release! Thank you so much to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read in exchange for a review!

4.5 Stars!
Claire Crawford is about to start her junior year of high school. With summer ending, she’s not sure how to adjust to all the changes she’s had lately. She’s newly single, and she lost the only thing she was truly passionate about. Figure skating was her entire world, and she’d planned out her whole life around it. Then all her dreams are shattered in an instant. This year definitely looks different for her. She’s not expecting to meet someone that interests her so soon, but suddenly she has a full blown crush on the new guy at school, and wants to get to know him better.

Soccer is everything to Austin Keller. When an opportunity comes up to join a state champion team his family picks up and moves from Arizona to Michigan. The Frost Lake Knights soccer program is one of the best, and has an amazing record. Austin is prepared to prove himself and earn his spot. Then things get complicated when he lands himself in a bit of drama. On his first night out with the team, one dare changes everything when he ends up kissing the team captain’s ex-girlfriend. Will he risk it all and cross the line for a connection he can’t deny?

Stealing for Keeps (Frost Lake High, #1) by Rebecca Jenshak is a secret relationship, high school, sports romance full of humor, rivalry, emotion, and sizzling chemistry. It’s a super cute, young adult story about self discovery and forbidden love. I really enjoyed this book, and can’t wait for more in the series! <333

Phenomenal start to a new series.

This was such a fun, cute YA sports romance. I enjoyed the characters and really found the story engaging and entertaining in so many ways. And yes, this is a true YA romance that even the younger adult will enjoy as much as older readers.

Claire and Austin are both about to embark are new changes and challengers during the junior, but for very different reasons. Austin is new the area and Claire is adjusting to new changes and challenges. What I loved most, the mannerisms and characteristics match these characters so well - they stay true to who they are.

I enjoyed the authenticity of this story - from the sports aspect, to the every day challenges of high school students. Rebecca delivered a fantastic story with characters that are relatable.

Looking forward to more from this author and this series.

This was the cutest and BEST YA romance! I’m down bad for Rebecca books so I knew I would love this one but it honestly blew me away!

Austin moves to Frost Lake High to elevate his soccer career. Claire is a junior at Frost Lake as well and just had most of her dreams shattered when Austin comes into her life. Austin gets dared to kiss her at a party and they end up developing a friendship/relationship, but Claire’s ex boyfriend is the captain of the soccer team! You’ll have to read to find out what happens next! 💓

Austin was PRECIOUS. One of my absolute favorite book boyfriends i’ve ever read. I loved how developed his relationship was with his brother, Wyatt, and how he cares so much for Claire. The dynamic between the soccer team was also so cute!

Claire really had the best girl friendships! She inspired me as a character after watching her deal with so much in high school. I loved watching her slowly give Austin a chance to win her heart!

You will adore this book by Rebecca! The perfect teenage angst love story that will always be one of my favorites! 💕

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven't read a YA book in so long, but when I read the blurb and saw that Rebecca Jenshak was the author, I knew I had to make an exception because this sounded so good. I wasn't wrong for going in with high expectations - this book exceeded them in every way.

Austin Keller is the new soccer star in the school. Claire Crawford meanwhile is still recovering from an injury that has caused her life long dream of being a figure-skater be put on ice - forever. Not only that, but Claire is also newly single after breaking up with her boyfriend, who happens to be the team captain for the soccer team. When Austin kisses Claire as a dare, unaware that she is the ex-girlfriend of his soccer captain, things take a turn quickly ...

This book was so good and Austin was THE book boyfriend we all wish we had! His maturity and care for Claire was so admiring to see, and you just want them together and happy. Claire was such a likeable FMC as well, and I just really enjoyed seeing the push and pull between the two. I think what makes this book so good is not only the main characters, but also the side characters and all that they go through. It's really relatable and reminds you of things you went through in HS.

Thank you so much Netgalley, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books and Rebecca Jenshak for the ARC ✨

This is for you if you love to read:

⚽ sports romance
⚽ teammate's ex girlfriend
⚽ secret relationship
⚽ he falls first
⚽ soccer player x ex-figure skater

This was a cute young adult book with likable characters. The pace was a little slow for me but storyline was good.

4.5 stars! Listen, I’m not normally a huge fan of the YA genre, especially the high school setting but I love Rebecca Jenshak’s books so I knew I had to give her take on YA romance a shot! I truly enjoyed this one! It took me back to the day that I was a sucker for a good YA romance.

Frost Lake is a place that I can totally picture being the cutest town. All the characters in this one were so relatable with the issues that they struggle with. Austin and Claire were so good for each other and I enjoyed watching them develop throughout the book, both alone and with each other.

Obviously, I’m a sucker for a sports romance and this soccer romance had the perfect amount of soccer on the page. I do wish that we could have gotten to see Claire in action as a figure skater, even if it was some kind of flashback.

I truly enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading about more of the characters of Frost Lake, especially Lacey’s story!

Thanks so much to Rebecca Jenshak and Valentine PR for a copy of this book for an honest review!

The side characters too I was obsessed and cannot wait to see where this series goes! I'm really hoping Torrance, Rowan, Lacey and Vaughn get books 😏🤭🤞🏻loved the soccer and figure skating combo 😍 would most definitely recommend checking this out! It won't disappoint 🫶🏻✨
