A heartwarming and exquisitely written story of loss, grief, restoration, and second chances. The healing of broken hearts and broken people had me in tears at the beauty and poignancy of it.
The second-chance romance between Rowan and Avalee was so lovely and melted my heart. These were two richly fleshed out characters and I adored them both. There were several quirky side characters that also added a lot to the story.
There are some heartbreaking and heavy elements, but the author did a great job in balancing them out with humor and some lighter moments.
I enjoyed the Southern setting, and all the renovation vibes. I loved the parallel of the ghost town being brought back to life, and in the process so was Avalee.
The narration by Zura Johnson was exceptionally well done, and she added so much feeling and emotion to the story.
This was a powerful, emotional, and beautiful story. Absolutely loved it!
Thank you RBmedia, Tyndale Fiction, and NetGalley for an ALC. A positive review was not required, and all opinion expressed are completely my own.

This book sucked me right in because the cover was so visually appealing. The thought of bringing an abandoned town has so much appeal, I love that storyline. The characters all real and so were the themes of loss and family and love.

Perhaps I was in the wrong frame of mind when I listened to this, as I found myself more frustrated than charmed. This is a second chance romance with a very emotional backstory. I think there perhaps is just too much going on in the story, and too many missing pieces or perfect coincidences that made it feel over the top. Rowan and Avalee have a very sad, emotional history that they attempt to work through to reconnect. I was particularly irritated by this type of sweeping over a whole town, taking over and rebuilding it to their specifications, it just felt really weird and as if humans didn’t exist in this town…but how would they make any money in these businesses if there are no inhabitants? I think it would have felt more community based story if there were more townspeople from the actual town. I’m not sure if I can even explain what bothered me about this book, other than it just wasn’t for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to provide my honest review.

I listened to Low Country Lost on Audio, so will be speaking to the narration as well as the story.
Low Country Lost is a story about Avalee and her whirlwind life. This book is Fixer Upper meets cozy Hallmark. Avalee runs into Rowan, a figure from her past, so now working together in the recently renamed town of Somewhere, SC brings its fair share of struggles. We ride along their adventures and everything that pops up along the way.
The book was narrated by Zura Johnson & I grew to appreciate the southern cadence she brought to the story. Her accent wasn’t so thick that it felt forced, but had just enough to pull you in. Had I read this one with my eyes, I probably would have given it 3.5 stars instead of 4, but the audio pushed it up.
Why 3.5 stars? This book could easily be a 3 part series. And I think would rival other sweet southern series like Sweet Magnolias, for example. There was so much going on, which during those segments, really could be elevated and made to contain more substance. We lost a couple of characters along the way that were pivotal at the time, but they just sort of vanished. I won’t give those characters away, but I found myself wondering why they hadn’t continued and/or had no resolution.
This book has already been published, but in future work this author does, I would agree with staying on the sweet southern novels, but consider series or pulling back on how much is packed into it.
Otherwise, I would definitely read this author again and would suggest this one as a palette cleanser, or if you need a good cozy read.
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for this Advanced Listener Copy!

This was a very impactful story. Avalie starts a new life after running away from her past. Finding a passion for rebuilding abandoned towns to make them thrive again. Her next project she decides to take on is Somewhere, SC. When her ex husband joins the project she can’t hide anymore from past hurts and feelings. Bringing to light that you can’t run from life but accept what you are given. Along with restoring this town she finds herself being restored. She has lost a lot but finds so much more along this journey. She reconnects with her lost love, gains two abandoned boys , stray animals and a whole new group of friends from all backgrounds. It may be a hard path along the way but God always leads you to where you belong. Thank you to NetGalley and RB media for this free advanced copy audio copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I liked this book a lot.
Very touching and will definitely pull at your heartstrings in so many ways.
Loved all of the characters and of course, Preacher.
Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this great book.

This book should have come with a content warning. It was way too sad, not the plot but the backstory. I finished it but it was very depressing.

Lowcountry Lost was such a great book. There was so much heart and I felt all the emotions while listening to it. It was captivating and didn’t gloss over the struggles and heartbreak and grief that this broken world can bring. I loved the message and values that were sprinkled all throughout the book. Every single character and the storylines were just so good. Highly recommend. 🩷
A huge thank you to RBMedia and NetGalley for the complimentary audio. All opinions expressed above are my own.

Another 5 star book from T.I. Lowe! This book is filled with wholesome Southern charm while still weaving a grand tale of romance and drama. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and this had so many moments of longing and difficulties which left me rooting for the main character. If you enjoy Sweet Magnolias (specifically the tv show over the books) I feel confident recommending this book to you!
Thank you Netgalley and Recorded Books for the audio book to review!

Intense, gritty and emotionally draining, ‘Lowcountry Lost’ delivers a poignant second chance love story that’s hard to read at times, but so worth it by the end. Devastating loss and overwhelming grief tore Avalee and Rowan apart at a time when they needed each other the most.
Six years later and Avalee is blindsided when Rowan walks back into her life. Oy, my heart hurt for so much of this read! Avalee’s agony is palpable and she’s not about to risk opening old wounds that are finally starting to heal, but Rowan is on site for more than a job. He wants to reclaim Avalee and the life they had to together before…well, you need to read the book to find out what came before.
This is definitely the kind of story a reader feels her way through. It’s raw and real and messy and sensitive bibliophile hearts will bruise easily. But this is also an inspiring love story centred around overcoming, finding redemption and the courage to try again.
Love the whole ‘house flipping’ an entire ghost town angle. It provides some stunning parallels to their own personal restoration. And the found family Avalee has become a part of adds sparks of humour and no nonsense advice (especially when not asked for!) So many delicious layers a reader can dig into!
Oh, and did I mention our hero is an Irishman? Be still my heart. That accent! His vulnerability. His tender dedication to the woman he has never stopped loving. Major swoon material!
I listened to the audio edition of this novel, narrated by Zura Johnson whose performance brought an extra facet to my appreciation of this dramatic tale of love and loss and restoration.
Of note: I’m really sorry to say that there was one instance of a very crude, coarse swear word — came as a total shock since this book is published by Tyndale, a Christian publisher. And, honestly, it really gutted me to find it here. In fact, I was so stunned, I replayed that part multiple times over several days, sure that I had to be mistaken. But, nope, I wasn’t. And it’s still something that bothers me a week after I finished the book. I’m so discouraged that I actually feel more emotional about that one word than I do about the entire story.
My thanks to Tyndale and Net Galley for providing me with an audio edition of this book.

It took me a little while to get into this book, but I was glad I stuck with it. It had a few little mysteries to keep me invested, as well as other things going on. Overall a good story!

This audiobook was so much fun to listen to. I was absolutely hooked from the beginning. Zura Johnson was the narrator of this book and she was amazing. Her voice kept me entertained and held my attention the whole time. I love watching HGTV and seeing people fix up homes or Home Town where they help fix up homes but part of the town as well. This book is about fixing up a whole town. If you love HGTV then you are going to love this book. I fell in love with Avalee. Her latest project lands her into Somewhere, South Carolina to a long-abandoned town. She expects there to be a lot of work to be done to make this town into something special but what she doesn't expect is Rowan Murray. They have quite the history and haven't seen each other in six years. Once they start working on this project together they wonder if they will be able to restore things with each other. There are so many great side characters to love and the main characters are just so sweet! The characters and story are well written and enjoyable. This is a story of loss and abandonment, forgiveness, and the beauty of undying love. It was absolutely beautiful and I HIGHLY recommend this book!! I can't wait to read more books by T.I. Lowe.
Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia | Recorded Books for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.

This book is exactly what I expected it to be, a light romance that touches on grief and sorrow from different angles against a lowcountry backdrop. It was a nice palate cleanser amidst all the civil war era nonfiction I’ve been reading lately.
The narrator is enjoyable. Her pace is good and her diction changes enough with each character that it’d easy to keep them separate. Her intonations strike the right chord at different dramatic or romantic points in the story. I’ve listened to some other books she’s narrated and she’s very consistent with her quality.
I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy the genre. I’m a hallmark movie fan myself because sometimes it just feels good to know there’s a happy ending around the corner.

Thanks for the ARC, Netgalley and T.I. Lowe. This book was so wholesome 😭. Avalee was so independent and hardworking time for herself got away from her. You have grief, healing, romance, humor and just a beautiful written second chance at love. This is such a rollercoaster but it’s worth every page turned. I will definitely check out more books from this author!

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC audiobook for an honest review.
This is my introduction to this author, and I am immediately impressed! The book had a fresh take on grief, healing and second chances. There was so much emotional depth mixed with a perfect balance of sweetness and fun. Our heroine, Avalee, is in charge of renovating a ghost town...the perfect setting to rebuild a part of herself that has also been neglected, her broken heart and spirit. When her ex-husband, Rowan, arrives on the scene as structural architect, everything that was long buried comes back to the surface. It has been six years since the two have been together. Oh, my. The heartache was as palpable as the love and longing between these two. I loved getting the flashes of their history and seeing the walls slowly come down as forgiveness and proper grieving are at last found. I absolutely adored Avalee and Rowan (and their new family!) and was totally invested in a much deserved happily ever after for all of them. The side stories beyond the romance captured my heart, too. So many feels with this book! The narrator did an amazing job bringing the book to life. I'm looking forward to discovering what else this author has to offer.
5 stars

Lowcountry Lost by T.I. Lowe narrated by Zura Johnson was an audiobook.
Avalee was in Somewhere, South Carolina to fix it and bring the town back to life.
The book has a lot of depth to it. There are a lot of topics that may make the story hard for some to read. For me it brought a lot of feeling out from heartbreak to joy, love to strong dislike, grief and finding the feelings in you that make it worth reading.
I say it is worth reading because it will make your life a little more complete.
It was narrated by Zura Johnson did an excellent bob bringing the story to life for me.
Thank you NetGalley, T.I. Lowe and RBmedia for the audiobook of Lowcountry Lost.
This is my personal review.

Emotional, second chance, what could have been, small town romance. These characters are older than what I usually read.

T.I. Lowe’s Lowcountry Lost is a captivating tale that blends historical charm, romantic tension, and a touch of the supernatural. Avalee Elvis, a woman with a talent for restoration, finds herself drawn to the quaint town of Somewhere, South Carolina. As she delves into her latest project, she unexpectedly encounters Rowan Murray, a man from her past.
The novel beautifully explores themes of loss, forgiveness, and second chances. Lowe’s vivid descriptions of the Lowcountry setting create a sense of nostalgia and tranquility. The characters are well-developed and relatable, with their struggles and triumphs resonating with readers. While the plot is engaging, the pacing could be slightly quicker in certain parts.
Overall, Lowcountry Lost is a heartwarming and thought-provoking read. Fans of Southern fiction and historical romance will appreciate this charming tale.

Another phenomenal story by T.I. Lowe set in a fictional town, Somewhere, SC. The town was a ghost town that Avalee and some investors are rehabbing to bring it back to life. While there she hears her ex-husband's Rowan's voice, the one person she never wanted to see again. Both have been hired by the investors for the project and they'll have to work together to bring the town back to life.
I really liked how Lowe brought the emotions, thoughts and feelings of Avalee to life. Avalee and Rowan lost 3 babies prior to their divorce, and both still hurt and struggle with the losses. They were childhood best friends that fell in love and got married, but after the losses they just couldn't hold things together. The story takes place 6 years after the divorce when both are still very broken.
The story contains a mystery, details of rehabbing buildings, a mischievous dog, a quiet teen boy, descriptions of great manicures and rich storytelling of found family and some quirky characters to lighten what is a heavy story, but has some lighthearted moments to lift some of the weight of topics explored.
This book could be both triggering or healing for someone who has dealt with infant loss. The story resolves in a caring way so anyone that might have experienced infant loss may have a sense of healing.
I truly enjoyed this book and for my second T.I. Lowe book, this and Indigo Isle make me want to go back and read her backlist of books.
I had the chance to listen to an audiobook and the narration on this one is excellent.

Thanks, Netgalley, author and publisher, for advance listeners' copy of Lowcountry Lost by T. I. Lowe
Love and loss, forgiveness, and second chances.
Honestly, I just don't know how I feel about this book. At one point, it's mh at another time I'm so into it. I think this would have been a great reading experience for me if it was an ebook/physical book.
I've totally enjoyed the 2 books ive read by this author. But this is a like.
I did enjoy some aspects of it, especially the end, but not the entire story as certain parts were utterly unbelievable. Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the mmc.
That said, i was thrilled that Avalee was able to overcome her grief and, through her work in the little ghost town, she's able to reconnect with her ex (though i didnt like him) forgive and end up with a happy ending..
One of the highlights of the story is also the teenage boy and the dog for sure.
