this was fine. the story was interesting, but i struggled quite a bit with the writing, which was often too plain for my taste. still, i think it’s a story worth reading about, although i do hope someone gives it a more thorough edit before it’s published.

I took a chance on this book, but unfortunately it just didn't work for me. The writing has a lot of potential - there's some good imagery, but it's clouded by confusing sentence structure, incorrect word usage, poor grammar, and apparently nonexistent editing. There's a lot of telling instead of showing, and a lot of what we're told doesn't make any sense because there isn't any background context given. I was really hoping this would be a good read, but from the first page I found myself having to re-read almost every sentence to figure out what the author was trying to say.
