I like this, because it asks how Americans can make such an irrational decision that works against the interests of everyone except a few rich people. Almond offers a wide variety of examples to show how people tell themselves stories that help them justify the unjustifiable. Unfortunately, the people who could benefit most from this will never read it.

"Bad Stories" is just another Anti-Trump and anti-MAGA book that defends the elite status quo against the ongoing revolution against our nation's "Elite 1%" (Those who hold graduate degrees, who live in densely populated blue cities, who earn more than $150,000 per year, and who discuss politics almost every day.) Mr. Almond errantly links this ongoing shift to "bad stories" when the truth is that progressivism (eight years under Obama and four years under Biden) has worked out very badly for Americans who work with their hands,
