Yet another wonderful Eva Rae thriller. The twist at the end is SHOCKING! Very very good!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!
Despite wanting to take some time off with family, Eva Rae is pulled into another murder mystery with the call from her mother’s friend. This was an exciting mystery with a twist that I didn’t see coming. On the whole I enjoyed the story but there were a couple things that bothered me.
I think the biggest irritation I had was the characters talking to themselves. Mainly Eva Rae and one other character. I don’t know why that irritated me since I talk to myself as well, but it struck oddly to me.
The other thing was the relationship with Eva Rae and her life partner. In the story before (Rest in Peace), Matt was suffering from depression because of his drastic life change from losing a leg in the line of duty. In this story, he is supposedly all better with a new work purpose. It didn’t feel legitimate to me. Then Eva Rae asks him to do something illegal, possibly resulting him getting fired, in order to help her with her investigation. While his discreet inquiries helped her investigation, it seemed selfish of her to ask.
Thank you NetGalley! I’ve come to love this author and was thrilled to read another of her books. Eva Rae is back at it again to help solve another crime. The flipping between present and past helped hold the suspense
FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas must peel back multiple layers of deceit to find the truth in a murder case. Suspense at its best and definitely a page turner! Struggling to find balance in her personal life only adds to the drama! Great book!
This was a great read! I really enjoyed it. The book was fast and had several twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.
Willow Rose has a way with words, for sure! I don’t know how she does it, but she has a way of writing her books so that it’s hard to accurately predict what’s going to happen and how the book will end. That, in and of itself, will make me always want to read her books, no matter what genre it would fall into!
This is part of a 16 book series, which I would recommend the entire series to anyone and everyone who likes mysteries and enjoys shocking twists and turns throughout their stories.
Eva Rae is called by a frantic mother-in-law when the son-in-law is being tried for first degree murder in the death of his wife, four years before. Because she believes in justice and she can use the money, she takes on the job. Something isn't right with the case, and a police detective seems determined to press forward with the charges.
Eva Rae keeps digging and finds a number of things wrong with the investigation and the charges.
This is another great Eva Rae story, but I didn't find myself on edge, as I am with many of the previous books in the series.
I read it quickly and I found it entertaining and intriguing.
This book is fast and entertaining, but the quality is lousy. The plot and the characters are naive, the medical and legal facts are off, and the changing between first and third POV is not good.
Willow Rose is a very prolific author who manages to keep her stories and characters fresh and the mysteries tough enough to solve that readers keep coming back. DARK LITTLE SECRETS IS Book# 16 in the Eva Rae Thomas series.....just one of the many series that keep her fans happy. When the St Augustine, Florida police arrest Diane Matthews' son in law for the murder of her daughter, Angela.....three years AFTER declaring Angela's death an accident.......Diane will contact an old friend who just ahppens to be Eva's mother and ask for Eva's help.
FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas is a realistic character who loves her job and works hard to help solve the twisted puzzles that criminal investigations pose. She is also a wife and mother who balances her love of her job with the guilt of being absent when she gets a call for help. Willow Rose keeps showing us that real people can love, work and play. And a big plus....her books are fast paced and easy to read in one sitting. It's a good thing she releases a new title every couple of months.
Whoa whoa whoa!!! Now that was a shocker that I didn’t see!! What a book!! And a great series! They can definitely be read as standalone! This book had some fantastic juicy secrets! It also had suspense, intriguing, murder, mystery a fantastic who done it and plenty of crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued!! I highly recommend reading this book and series! They’re well worth reading! Thank you NetGalley, Willow Rose, and the publisher for sharing this book with me! Can’t wait for more!
Who can’t help but hurt for a mother who loses her daughter. Three years later, Eva Rae Thomas is called in by the mom to figure out what really happened.
Eva Rae Thomas once again leaves her family to try to ease someone’s suffering. Doing what she does best, Eva Rae investigates and gets caught up in some tricky situations,
Will Rose has a way of incorporating intrigue into her stories, all the while showcasing the dynamics of family life. As always, there are lots of twists and turns and and good drama. Well written with relatable characters.
Another good read. I did receive an ARC, but the comments are my own
