Thank you NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP For the Arc!
Honestly, the beginning of the book was interesting. We get to learn about River and the tragedy that befell on her family, years later where she is still mourning the loss of her father and the what if's of her mother ever returning. It was around the 20-50% mark where things felt they halted quite a lot. River got with Logan, her Ex was back in her life. And the romance with Logan took a lot from the thriller aspect. It wasn't until halfway that the book began to pick up again, and made everything fly by for me.
I was obsessed with finding out all the mysteries and plots going on. Some of them left me a bit confused, but overall, the thrill was there and I was into it. The ending of the book was okay. I wish we got to know more on what happened with Noah's father and a bit more time with how Logan and River reconciled afterwards.
Overall it was a great read and I can't wait for more!

This book totally sucked me in! Even though it's marketed as YA, I think adults will love it too. It's got the whole package: sweet romance, a mystery that keeps you guessing, and some seriously surprising plot twists. If you're looking for a quick read with a dash of romance and and character's who all have secrets, you should definitely check this one out.
Thank you to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group for an ARC of this book. I voluntarily read it and gave an honest review.

I was very hopeful after reading the reviews, but I had a hard time with this one. I didn't connect to the characters and I felt it was really slow at the beginning, so I became disinterested.
Maybe this was just me.
Thank you for the opportunity to read the ARC.

This book fell flat for me. I feel like it was obviously written for a younger audience. I do believe younger audiences would enjoy this. It was not my taste.

Sloan’s story follows the life of teenage River after she loses her dad in a house fire. This book is full of twists and turns. You follow River as she navigates loss, betrayal, forgiveness and healing. I couldn’t put this book down. Five stars. I can’t wait until it hits the shelves!

Sadly, this wasn't for me. I was confused at the ending because I thought it would be more dramatic and have more suspense. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me, and I didn't think much happened.

I would say it was more like 3.5 stars.
She loses her father in a fire she barely survives. Her mother has been gone for a year just leaving one day. As she tries to move on secrets start to unravel. A few times pacing was off but overall was good.

3.5 ⭐️
I honestly didn’t know where this was going or what the plot even was for the majority of the book, but at the same time it was a super fun YA??? I totally would’ve loved this in high school!! Definitely recommend for a YA mystery/romance. Thank you to Penguin Group for the advanced copy!!

I like this book but its okay I think it was written for a juvenile reader. I think the story has a lot of plot holes I am confused about her and Logan you don't find out his secret till the end but its a weird secret at first I thought because he was trying to get close to her that he was some serial killer. Their love in the beginning was raw and obsessive enemies to lovers trope but like then I find out hes like some kind of weird stalker and he wanted to get close to her because of her dad, she Became so obsessive trying to figure out who gave her the donation for her gofundme. I don't understand if its like a juvenile readers ya romance but it has some spice which is odd to me. I think it was okay it wasn't the best story in my opinion.
Thank you netgalley for the book to review.

🔥 ┊ “ my mom is gone. my dad is dead. and my life will never be the same. ”
All We Lost Was Everything centers around River Santos, whose father died in a fire just a few months back. Her mother has been missing for over a year. Just as things are beginning to get easier, new information is uncovered about the fire. River is forced to confront many horrible truths, wondering if she ever really knew her parents after all.
I really wanted to like this book but there was just so much that didn't like:
- I don't think this should have been marketed as a YA book. There were like three sex scenes, and the characters felt like they were in their mid-twenties. I honestly thought they were in their twenties until a high school graduation was mentioned.
- Both the love triangle and the romance felt very cookie-cutter, and I think the book would have been better without it taking up so much time.
- Logan, the love interest, was very boring. He was way too clingy (and trust me, I love clingy men) and he felt too much like a cut-out of what a romantic partner should be like, rather than an actual character. I don't think he should have ever been given a POV, as it never really develops the plot.
- I guessed who the main antagonist was right away; usually, I'm fine with figuring out things before the characters, but here I was just bored.
- What we end up finding out about the parents made me lose all sympathy for them.
- The letters from the mom that were at the ends of some of the chapters were confusing. I wish it was explained what they were, as I first thought they were a part of River's imagination.
- I genuinely forgot this was even a thriller because it only brought in the mystery aspect at about the 40% line and it only began to really pick up at about 70%.
- River constantly made the stupidest of decisions.

I read her first book Everything We Never Said last year and loved it. This book was a good. A mild dark romance and thriller.
Even though the book is YA it didn’t feel like it when reading.
There were a lot of plot twists. The twists to me were pretty obvious but overall I had a find time reading this.

God River can anything else go wrong!? Can anyone else lie to you?! I was shaking mad for her. And was guessing the ending wrong the whole time. Mind blown. So so so good. Five stars without a doubt.

Well, the title was accurate. It didn't undersell a thing. Some parts of the book I had figured out by the 3rd chapter. Still there were enough surprises at the end that I appreciated.

This book had a lot going on at the same time which the author was able make it all work well. Good story with mystery and lots of puzzled guessing. River Santos was a girl with a lot of tragedy and baggage. The story flowed well for me and was a quick entertaining read .
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced e-book edition of this book for my honest opinion

River Santos is living through one of the worst years of her life. Her mom left and never came home, her boyfriend broke up with her, and then her dad died in a house fire that she somehow survived. The only people left in her life are her Tita and her best friend Tawny, as she struggles with grief and losing people she loves. Most of her days are spent working at the local diner with Tawny and fawning over their co-worker Logan who seems to want to pretend River doesn't exist. What happens when Logan is suddenly helping her save face in front of her ex? Just when River thinks things are turning around she realizes that in the real world, everyone is hiding something.
This YA romantic thriller had me drawn in and impatient to find out what was happening next! While some of the plot twists were predictable, the final twist had my jaw on the floor! Highly recommend.
Thank you, NetGalley and Penguin Young Readers Group for the advanced reader copy in exchange for honest feedback.

this book was not meant to be read by a thirty one year old women. however, my sixteen year old self would have been obsessed with this book. this book had the perfect amount of romance, suspense, and twists for a young adult book. were there some major plot holes, yes but overall a fun read.
thank you so much to net galley and penguin group putnam for the arc.

Overall I really enjoyed this! I don’t usually catch on to things that are happening but some moments I were able to predict.
