I felt that the plot and characters were very, intriguing and entertaining. However, on a deeper level, there was barely any exposition, which meant the book lacked that CIA atmosphere that I wanted out of this book. Also, the writing was so very dry that I slowly lost interest in the book, the characters and the plot. Certain aspects also felt very unrealistic which made the book very cringe.
2.25
A solid 2.5. I read an ARC, thanks to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain. Novel Threat was less compelling than Abramson's last effort in this category, Hometown Vendetta. I didn't feel as connected to the characters as I have in this author's other books. It's set mostly in NYC in the publishing industry. The CIA and FBI working together to stop a terrorist group. Some of the situations seemed pretty beyond realistic to me. I'm not sure what gets fixed in an ARC but I'll give my feedback. This one had me feeling less satisfied when the book ended.
Kimber meets Brandon on an airplane on the way home from London. Little did she know that they both worked for the CIA and would end up working together to stop a terrorism attack. Lots of twists and turns and some romance. I really enjoyed this book and hope to see more of the secondary characters as well as Kimber and Brandon.
