I LOVED this book. Rose & Fionn were everything I had hoped for since meeting them In Butcher & Blackbird.
Their story is beautiful, and truly way more emotional than I was expecting (yeah Brynne made me tear up).
It was also hilarious and dark and gross (there is more eyeball stuff, guys 😂), and everything we’ve come to love and expect from a book written by Brynne.
I loved seeing more of Sloane, Rowan, Lark, and Lachlan. I loved their friendship, and the healing of the relationship between the brothers.
I used the word “love” a lot in this review and if that doesn’t tell you something… I don’t know what to tell you.
This was great, the perfect ending to this trilogy.

🔮ARC REVIEW 🩺
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS BRYNNE FUCKING WEAVER??????????
She wasn’t lying when she said this would be a healing journey. She wasn’t bluffing when she told us that this would be the climax of all climaxes.
Give it to Brynne Weaver to snatch your heart out, put some sparkle on it, and put it back in.
I’m grateful every day we live in a time to witness history in the romance book genre community, having to experience her writing and her style is a privilege that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Fionn and Rose weren’t an easy couple to read. I was yelling at my Kindle half the time. Especially while yelling at Fionn to get his head out of his ass. That baby boy had suffered so much and felt like he didn’t deserve all that love.
LITTLE DID HE KNOW that Rose was the right fit for that puzzle and crawled his way toward his happiness. That road was fucking bumpy but it was worth it.
Rose’s independence resonated so much, I found a lot of common traits of hers in me and I usually look for that in some FMCs. The way she warms up immediately when he’s near gave me so many flashbacks of when I had to experience the same kind of longing towards a specific person.
Brynne knows how to write feelings, you’re not just reading mere words, you're feeling the cold, the warmth, the anger, and the desperation 10 times fold. Because she knows how to write it and I’m gonna say it for the nth time, Brynne Weaver makes you feel all of the feels.

I’m always a bit anxious as a series progresses, but I never once doubted that Brynne Weaver would deliver another brilliant five-star finale for the Ruinous Love series. Rose is absolutely perfect—her quick wit, sharp banter, depth, loyalty, and indomitable spirit make her unforgettable! Fione is exactly as I’d hoped: grumpy sunshine with a dark passenger along for the ride, and his struggle to keep his darkness in check is portrayed beautifully. The slow burn and emotional highs and lows are sheer perfection. And I’m grateful she went easier on the food choice this time around! And let’s not forget the other star in this book, Barbara, omg wait till you meet her, I need a Barbara in my life.

I feel like every new Brynne Weaver book is my new favorite. This was so much fun from start to finish and I really loved Rose and Fionn (but mostly Barbara). And getting so many scenes with the others in this book made me so fucking happy because I definitely wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them either. Can’t wait to listen to the audiobook for this because I’m betting it’ll be phenomenal.
I’m already anticipating the next book from Brynne! Thank you so much for the ARC!

The conclusion to the Kane men and the woman who love them. This has been a journey. Just as each of the brothers are different so has each of the books to really reflect their personalities I feel. I felt like Rose and Fionn story was a little less intense and more grounded but no less stabby it rounds out the trilogy to bring closure. There was just something about Fionn maybe it is his vulnerability and him trying to fit into a mold that didn’t work for him. Rose was mayhem and honestly not cut out for the role she put herself in but she was a riot with her banter and sass. These two complimented each other perfectly. This one was a little more emotional for me I felt like it was a second chance trope mixed in for these two. Barbara was the best (you will see 😉)
The extra prologue gives us more closure and brings the whole family together. We also get a sneaky little insight into what could be coming next.
“𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘪𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦.“

Now when Brynne Weaver writes another serial unaliver romance you know I am literally waiting at my door for it to release! But this time I didn’t have to wait because I was blessed with an early copy so now I can give you the (non spoiler) tea!
Where to start with this book! If you’ve come from any of my socials, you probably know how obsessed I am with the Ruinous Love Trilogy. This series has literally created and OWNED a new subgenre that I like to call murder romcom✨ Of course we are finishing off this series with the last of the Kane brothers, Dr. Fionn & our circus girl Rose. Now these two had a STORY. I think for most of the series Rose has kinda been a wild card and we didn’t really get to see what she is truly about. This book definitely fixed that and while I still wish we got a bit more of her backstory, I loved seeing her in her element. Fionn was great too, but I will always ride harder for the women that Brynne Weaver writes! Their relationship was fun to read and definitely brought the heat!! I’m not typically the biggest friends-to-lovers fan, but I did enjoy seeing Rose & Fionn bond over some…special hobbies😉 The only thing that I had trouble vibing with in this book was the timeline, because while it obviously needs to line up with the other two books, I did find it didn’t flow as nicely with the time jumps. However, I still loved these characters and can confidently say that this series ended with a bang…literally (iykyk).

I enjoyed this one! I really loved Rose as a character - she’s kind of an unhinged feral child in like the best way lol and I liked how Fionn loved her and how neither of them tried to change each other. The romance was a little instalust yet a slow burn. I wasn’t a big fan of the time jumps or third act drama but ultimately it was a satisfying conclusion for me. I also thought Brynne did a great job of looping in the other characters and tying things together.

The circus came to town and with it came The Sparrow in the cage. Rose brings trouble with her every place she visits. Being a tarot reader has its advantages especially when women come in to have there fortune told. It’s the perfect way for for Rose to find out which men are abusive. Rose makes it her civic duty to track these men down except nothing goes as planned when Rose arms herself with some interesting tools.
…
Rose meets the good doctor Fionn at his clinic after suffering a few injuries from her nefarious activities. It’s love at first site with a few rules. Both are not looking for love and are by no means looking for a relationship. Yet they are drawn to each other and can’t keep their hands off each other.
…
The Ruinous Love Trilogy continues with the third brother. We already met Rowan and Lachlan. Now it’s time to meet Fionn. He’s a doctor who meets tarot card reader Rose after she was beaten by a bad man whom she was trying to kill.
…
Brynne Weaver writes a dark humorous story about two characters who have righted a wrong, by eliminating them from the world. Brynne accomplishes this with some very interesting tools. I don’t know if there is a sub genre referred to as cozy murder? Because that explains this story the best. It’s lighthearted and funny when murder usually is anything but funny. In this case Brynne Weaver makes murder something that is uncharacteristically wrong in the right way. By botching up each crime just adds to the level of playfulness. The kills are so crazy you can’t help but laugh out loud.
…
Brynne set the bar high with the first book laying out this thrilling dark killer romance by ruining some favorite foods in the process. This book has less of that thrilling edge I found in book 1. It’s still good, but not gritty enough. There’s some clever killing tactics that will stick in my mind. Although, I was hoping for more of the flow in book 1. Book 1 was unique. Since this is a trilogy I was banking on a trilogy that would be more consistent. It’s been a pleasure getting to know each of the Kane men. They are the same, yet different in ways that are special to the women who own there hearts.

Ya quiero leer el libro de Autumn.
Gracias Brynne por el ARC, lo disfrute.

Brynne Weaver- I have no words for the utter awe this book has left me in. It’s crazy that a series about serial killers has become so important to me in essence. Not only is the Ruinous Love series funny and cute but it’s also cathartic in a way. Watching these women kill abusers and become so badass is so much fun. I absolutely adore the characters and I adored Rose and Fionn just as I expected too. The doctor x serial killer thing is absolutely wild, but Brynne just made it work so well. So many points throughout this book where I literally laughed out loud.
Rose’s constant use of “ta-da!”
Fionn begging her to use “mayhem in moderation”
I will be thinking about this series and these books for a long time.

Scythe & Sparrow is the third book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy and follows the story of Lionn and Rose aka "Sparrow". It's a spicy thriller/contemporary romance.
This was unputdownable, fast paced, spicy, and features the MCs from 'Butcher & Blackbird' and 'Leather & Lark' as side characters.
Fionn meets injured Rose and is immediately enamoured by this mysterious woman. While Rose is stuck in his small town, Doc opens up his home to make sure her recovery goes as smoothly as possible.
Rose is immediately a lovable FMC, upfront, honest, and slightly impulsive. Her personality matched with Fionn's creates an opposites-attract love story filled with LOL moments (Barbra), sexual tension, and banter that is *chef's kiss*. This was a perfect ending to the series!

The Ruinous Love Trilogy concludes with Scythe & Sparrow. I have a habit of skipping to the Author’s Acknowledgments before diving into the book itself.., it’s just something I do. Brynne’s words resonated with me: “While writing Butcher & Blackbird was joyful, and Leather & Lark was challenging, Scythe & Sparrow felt healing.” That’s exactly how this final book reads. It’s not as wild as Butcher & Blackbird or as intense as Leather & Lark. Instead, Scythe & Sparrow feels calm and grounded….it just is… if that makes sense. It provides a satisfying closure for all three couples in the trilogy.
The book has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, especially thanks to Rose’s wit. She’s a riot. And then there’s Fionn… sigh. There’s just something about him that makes you want to hold on and never let go.
Did I want more from Fionn and Rose’s story? Absolutely. Barbara (you’ll soon know!!) and the first epilogue helped bump this to a four star read for me. As for the second epilogue, in true Brynne fashion, it teases future storylines and new characters to look forward to. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next..
