Now when Brynne Weaver writes another serial unaliver romance you know I am literally waiting at my door for it to release! But this time I didn’t have to wait because I was blessed with an early copy so now I can give you the (non spoiler) tea!

Where to start with this book! If you’ve come from any of my socials, you probably know how obsessed I am with the Ruinous Love Trilogy. This series has literally created and OWNED a new subgenre that I like to call murder romcom✨ Of course we are finishing off this series with the last of the Kane brothers, Dr. Fionn & our circus girl Rose. Now these two had a STORY. I think for most of the series Rose has kinda been a wild card and we didn’t really get to see what she is truly about. This book definitely fixed that and while I still wish we got a bit more of her backstory, I loved seeing her in her element. Fionn was great too, but I will always ride harder for the women that Brynne Weaver writes! Their relationship was fun to read and definitely brought the heat!! I’m not typically the biggest friends-to-lovers fan, but I did enjoy seeing Rose & Fionn bond over some…special hobbies😉 The only thing that I had trouble vibing with in this book was the timeline, because while it obviously needs to line up with the other two books, I did find it didn’t flow as nicely with the time jumps. However, I still loved these characters and can confidently say that this series ended with a bang…literally (iykyk).

I enjoyed this one! I really loved Rose as a character - she’s kind of an unhinged feral child in like the best way lol and I liked how Fionn loved her and how neither of them tried to change each other. The romance was a little instalust yet a slow burn. I wasn’t a big fan of the time jumps or third act drama but ultimately it was a satisfying conclusion for me. I also thought Brynne did a great job of looping in the other characters and tying things together.

The circus came to town and with it came The Sparrow in the cage. Rose brings trouble with her every place she visits. Being a tarot reader has its advantages especially when women come in to have there fortune told. It’s the perfect way for for Rose to find out which men are abusive. Rose makes it her civic duty to track these men down except nothing goes as planned when Rose arms herself with some interesting tools.

Rose meets the good doctor Fionn at his clinic after suffering a few injuries from her nefarious activities. It’s love at first site with a few rules. Both are not looking for love and are by no means looking for a relationship. Yet they are drawn to each other and can’t keep their hands off each other.

The Ruinous Love Trilogy continues with the third brother. We already met Rowan and Lachlan. Now it’s time to meet Fionn. He’s a doctor who meets tarot card reader Rose after she was beaten by a bad man whom she was trying to kill.

Brynne Weaver writes a dark humorous story about two characters who have righted a wrong, by eliminating them from the world. Brynne accomplishes this with some very interesting tools. I don’t know if there is a sub genre referred to as cozy murder? Because that explains this story the best. It’s lighthearted and funny when murder usually is anything but funny. In this case Brynne Weaver makes murder something that is uncharacteristically wrong in the right way. By botching up each crime just adds to the level of playfulness. The kills are so crazy you can’t help but laugh out loud.

Brynne set the bar high with the first book laying out this thrilling dark killer romance by ruining some favorite foods in the process. This book has less of that thrilling edge I found in book 1. It’s still good, but not gritty enough. There’s some clever killing tactics that will stick in my mind. Although, I was hoping for more of the flow in book 1. Book 1 was unique. Since this is a trilogy I was banking on a trilogy that would be more consistent. It’s been a pleasure getting to know each of the Kane men. They are the same, yet different in ways that are special to the women who own there hearts.

Ya quiero leer el libro de Autumn.

Gracias Brynne por el ARC, lo disfrute.

Brynne Weaver- I have no words for the utter awe this book has left me in. It’s crazy that a series about serial killers has become so important to me in essence. Not only is the Ruinous Love series funny and cute but it’s also cathartic in a way. Watching these women kill abusers and become so badass is so much fun. I absolutely adore the characters and I adored Rose and Fionn just as I expected too. The doctor x serial killer thing is absolutely wild, but Brynne just made it work so well. So many points throughout this book where I literally laughed out loud.
Rose’s constant use of “ta-da!”
Fionn begging her to use “mayhem in moderation”
I will be thinking about this series and these books for a long time.

Scythe & Sparrow is the third book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy and follows the story of Lionn and Rose aka "Sparrow". It's a spicy thriller/contemporary romance.

This was unputdownable, fast paced, spicy, and features the MCs from 'Butcher & Blackbird' and 'Leather & Lark' as side characters.

Fionn meets injured Rose and is immediately enamoured by this mysterious woman. While Rose is stuck in his small town, Doc opens up his home to make sure her recovery goes as smoothly as possible.

Rose is immediately a lovable FMC, upfront, honest, and slightly impulsive. Her personality matched with Fionn's creates an opposites-attract love story filled with LOL moments (Barbra), sexual tension, and banter that is *chef's kiss*. This was a perfect ending to the series!

Tropes:
🖤 Small Town/Forced Proximity
🖤 Friends with benefits
🖤 One Bed
🖤 Touch her and..
🖤 HEA

The Ruinous Love Trilogy concludes with Scythe & Sparrow. I have a habit of skipping to the Author’s Acknowledgments before diving into the book itself.., it’s just something I do. Brynne’s words resonated with me: “While writing Butcher & Blackbird was joyful, and Leather & Lark was challenging, Scythe & Sparrow felt healing.” That’s exactly how this final book reads. It’s not as wild as Butcher & Blackbird or as intense as Leather & Lark. Instead, Scythe & Sparrow feels calm and grounded….it just is… if that makes sense. It provides a satisfying closure for all three couples in the trilogy.

The book has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, especially thanks to Rose’s wit. She’s a riot. And then there’s Fionn… sigh. There’s just something about him that makes you want to hold on and never let go.

Did I want more from Fionn and Rose’s story? Absolutely. Barbara (you’ll soon know!!) and the first epilogue helped bump this to a four star read for me. As for the second epilogue, in true Brynne fashion, it teases future storylines and new characters to look forward to. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next..
