What a twisty book! I didn’t foresee a lot of this coming and every time I thought I knew who did it, it took a twist. The book kept me engaged and interested, the flow of writing was easy and I found myself cruising through it because I needed to know how it was to end!!
Big kudos to the last bit in the acknowledgment! Can’t wait!!

Jeneva does it again! Being a sequel and knowing who the main character is, I knew from page one what would happen. Except I absolutely had no idea. Jeneva is the queen of twists and jaw dropping moments.

The Perfect Divorce: well, the cover says it all.

If you have read The Perfect Marriage, then you already know what you are getting yourself into.

Told in multiple POVs, The Perfect Divorce was easy to follow, and even easier to jump right back into. Having read The Perfect Divorce over a year after The Perfect Marriage, this sequel was remarkably effortless to read without having to re-read the first installment.

Overall, The Perfect Divorce kept me throughly entertained, and that’s really all I ask for in mystery thrillers.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for an advanced copy of The Perfect Divorce in exchange for my honest review.

The events of The Perfect Divorce occur eleven years after the previous novel, A Perfect Marriage. In the present day, attorney Sarah Morgan has remarried to Bob Millet but recently uncovered his one night infidelity. She files for divorce and the in the process brings up DNA evidence that may exonerate Adam Morgan, the previous husband that was convicted and executed. When the woman Bob cheated with is reported missing all hell breaks loose and he and Sarah engage in a fight for the ages. Who will come out on top and will they both survive the battle?

I went into this book having not read A Perfect Marriage, and because of my enjoyment of this story, I will definitely be adding it to my TBR. While this is a standalone novel and you don’t have to have the previous book in your read pile, it didn’t make this reading experience any less enjoyable. The characters are really interesting and I would pick up any book that had the crafty Sarah Morgan in it.

Told in alternating POVs between Sarah and Bob, this twisty thriller is easy to binge. Four stars for this captivating thriller.

I received this advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and feedback.

A quick read that keeps you guessing, but one you’ll definitely need to suspend disbelief for. Realizing now that I don’t know that I necessarily needed more Sarah Morgan in my life, but I think this was an adequate way to continue the story. Not bad by any means, but I don’t think it held the same mystery as the original for me.

All that to say, I have a feeling I’ll be in the minority with this opinion so do check it out if you enjoyed the first book!!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

If you liked The Perfect Marriage, then you will absolutely love The Perfect Divorce. In book one, we see everything through Adam & Sarah Morgan’s POV. This is intentional, to limit the information available to the reader. However, in this book, you get even more points of view including: Sarah Morgan, Bob Miller, Sheriff Hudson, and an unknown character. I feel like we got more of a panoramic view of the story, and yet still didn’t get all the information until the very end.

For context, The Perfect Divorce takes place about 1 year after the ending of The Perfect Marriage. But it brings up evidence and things that occurred throughout book one (over a decade ago). The plot moves quickly, while carefully lining the dominoes up to fall at the end. I enjoyed the set up and gradual delivery of the suspense in this story, as it wasn’t clear what direction it was headed until close to the end. This left me guessing, second guessing, and fully scrutinizing the text for any hint of what was really happening. And I still ended up pleasantly surprised with the reveal!

I always enjoy Jeneva Rose’s thrillers because they are fast paced, funny, and have a twist straight out of left field at the very end of the book. I would very much recommend picking this one up on April 15, 2025 when it releases! (Especially since we will be getting more of this story in the future!)

*I was so excited to get this ARC, because I inhaled The Perfect Marriage when it first came out. So to prepare for this book, I reread the more recent/ edited version (and loved it just as much!).

Thank you Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for gifting me with an eARC, all thoughts expressed are my own.

Thank you Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for an early copy of The Perfect Divorce. Wow what a sequel!!!! Sarah is one heck of a character, the Best!!! She is sooooo smart and a woman NOT to be reckoned with. I was a bit confused of the hair cutting part but it was all explained in the end. I couldn’t read it fast enough, just Loved every part of it. The sequel was definitely better than the first and that’s very unusual. I do have one question about Sarah’s “death”, how did the picture to Bob show what it showed? That was never explained but All in All get ready for a twisty, fun ride. GREAT READ!!!

This novel is as good as the first one. I enjoyed Sarah's character even more this time. She is one smart cookie. The plot has every thing you look for in a psychological thriller including a greqt ending. I will recommend it to others. Well done!

Thank you to Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for the arc of this book. If you loved The Perfect Marriage you are going to love the The Perfect Divorce. This books picks up with Sarah Morgan eleven years after the end of the The Perfect Marriage. I did not want to put this book down once I started reading it. I rarely like the second book in a series more than the first but I enjoyed this book even more than the first book. This book has so many twists and turns. I was engaged the entire read. I highly recommend reading this book.

💭What I thought would happen:

When I heard there’d be a follow up to The Perfect Marriage I was happier than a child @ Disney. Like oooo were there loose ends?!

📖What actually happens:

🗯Thoughts/sassy musings:

Oh Jeneva, you never let me down. One of my most anticipated? Absolutely!

Okay hear me out, I had it all predicted but it was still a perfectly enjoyable popcorn thriller and sequel.

A man cheats and all of a sudden he’s looking a little murdery but this one know what his wife is capable of? Say less I am sold 😂

Anywho, grab your girlies, wear your florals and go pick this one up. And if you haven’t read The Perfect Marriage….wtf come on!

In my eyes, Jeneva Rose can do no wrong! I took longer to read this because I simply did not want it to be over. Typically, sequels and books in a series are difficult for me because they never match up to my expectations or wildest dreams. Jeneva Rose picked up where she left off so seamlessly and skillfully. This was an amazing read, and I will be recommending it far and wide!!!

Thank you to Jeneva Rose and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC!

THIS IS HOW YOU SEQUEL!! I loved “The Perfect Marriage” so much that I have to admit, I was nervous (also extremely excited!) going into this one. But rest assured, Jeneva knows what she is doing. And so does attorney Sarah Morgan. It’s been over a decade since she defended her first husband, Adam, against the charges of murdering his mistress. Now married to her former co-worker Bob, when she catches him cheating, she wastes no time filing for divorce. But then new evidence comes to light from Adam’s case. As Sarah is embroiled in spent drama with Bob and their daughter, the truth of the past may come front and center.

With Sarah’s quick wit and quick thinking, it doesn’t seem like she will have much to worry about. But several twists and turns had me wondering if there really was someone out to end her, and if this would be the end of her story. Told from multiple points of view (including a third unknown narrator), “The Perfect Divorce” packs as much mystery and suspense as the previous book in this series. This was one I couldn’t put down and I was thrilled with the early read!

“The Perfect Divorce” releases April 15, 2025. This review will be shared to my instagram blog (@books_by_the_bottle) shortly :)

The Perfect Divorce is exactly what I would expect from Jeneva Rose - it was thrilling and had me HOOKED from start to finish. I'm not going to lie, sometimes I think sequel books can be very hit or miss but this was a home run!

Sarah Morgan might truly be one of my favorite FMCs -- she is the definition of a strong and intelligent woman who won't let men one up her. I loved reading from her POV every time it came up and had the best time following this messy journey through the divorce and former investigation being re-opened. My jaw dropped multiple times and there were so many twists I didn't see coming.

I'd highly highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoyed The Perfect Marriage - this was a phenomenal sequel.

If, like me, you thought The Perfect Marriage was fabulous, get ready - this sequel filled with dark, cunning people and whiplash-inducing plot twists is even better!
Eleven years ago, Sarah Morgan defended her husband against the charge of murder in the bloody death of his mistress, Kelly. Sarah moved on after that and now has a new husband and a beautiful daughter. Finding out that her second husband has also cheated on her leaves her in an ugly divorce settlement battle, and having full custody of their daughter is her priority.
When new evidence is found in the case of Kelly's death, prompting authorities to reopen the case, and her current husband's mistress goes missing, Sarah's life gets much more complicated.
If a Kindle could overheat by turning pages too fast, mine might have exploded while I read this book. It is very fast-paced, with Jeneva Rose's signature shocking revelations page after page.
