📚 THE PERFECT MARRIAGE
💁🏻♀️ strong smart female leads
🔪 multiple disappearances and deaths
summary:
OH MY GOSH. If you loved THE PERFECT MARRIAGE like I did, this book is even better. It continues the story of Sarah Morgan following her first husband, Adam’s execution for the murder of his mistress, Kelly Summers. Since his death, Sarah married — and is now divorcing — her second husband, Bob, after he too had an affair. During their divorce negotiations, DNA evidence is found from Adam’s trial, forcing Sarah to petition to have it reopened. While detectives ruthlessly look into the decade-old crime, a former detective is found dead, Bob’s mistress is missing, and Bob is pulling out all the stops to try to repair his relationship. Bringing together what we learned in the first book and what new information is discovered, we learn more about Bob, Sarah, their relationship, and what really happened that night at the lake house.
This book is brilliantly written. It weaves together multiple stories and mysteries in a smooth and easy to understand way. Just when you think you know where the story is going, it takes another turn, keeping you on your toes. Sarah Morgan may be one of my all time favorite literary characters. She’s smart, savvy and brilliantly conniving, and I found myself both loving her and hating her in equal parts. The lies, deception and double-crossing in SO MANY of the characters is masterful, forcing you to constantly question who you can trust. The ending is complex and jaw-dropping, just like the first, and best of all, Rose tells us that Sarah’s story isn’t finished.
I cannot stress enough to preorder this book today!! My favorite of 2025 so far — make sure you have this in hand when it releases on April 15!

I loved this sequel to The Perfect Marriage. All the new secrets were slowly unraveled and the twists kept coming.
Thanks net galley for the ARC!!!

While I thought the first book was good, this one was truly such a thrilling read! Every twist and turn kept me hooked—I honestly couldn’t predict where it was going. If you read the first book, I highly recommend picking this one up, no matter how you felt about the first. Jeneva Rose never disappoints with her page-turners, and this one was no exception. Always a fun and thrilling ride, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Wonderful read
This was a fun ride. I liked it better than book 1 in this series. I hope Sarah Morgan’s story continues into a third book.

The Perfect Divorce is a fantastic sequel to the perfect Marriage! It was a wonderful read that I couldn’t put down! Ms. Rose had me hating Bob, feeling sympathetic to Sarah and constantly trying to guess the next twist! It’s a must read!!

Thank you Netgalley for an arc copy of this book in return for an honest review!
As one of Jenevas silly geese I’ve always loved all of her books and was so excited to receive an Arc of this one although I was a bit nervous, because although I enjoyed the perfect marriage it wasn’t my favorite of Jenevas work. HOWEVER, this one blew it out of the water. It was so freaking good! First off it answers some of the remaining questions I had from book one, but more Than that it added so much depth to some of the characters while adding new ones, and honestly I truly did not know what was going to happen throughout this book and the twists and turns were numerous, which I absolutely loved. This book is a fast read and honestly I want to read it again and again because it was honestly that good! If you enjoyed the perfect marriage you will LOVE the perfect divorce and if you weren’t sure about the perfect marriage I honestly and truly think you will still love the perfect divorce it’s honestly worth the read!!

You never really know how sequels will turn out, but this one certainly does not disappoint! Over a decade after the events of The Perfect Marriage, we pick up with Sarah Morgan as she’s living out her redemption arc and attempting to divorce her second husband. Unfortunately, her past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance. There are the expected plot twists and diabolically tied-up loose ends. I thoroughly enjoyed reading chapters narrated from different characters’ points of view to unravel the story.
Thank you to Jeneva Rose, Blackstone Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!

Jeneva Rose is an author I will always read. The Perfect Divorce is her latest. If you like her other books, you’ll like this one.

*The Perfect Divorce* by Jeneva Rose is a domestic thriller that explores the complexities of marriage, betrayal, and revenge. The story follows a couple navigating the aftermath of a toxic relationship as they embark on a messy divorce that quickly escalates into something far more sinister.
On one hand, Rose’s writing is gripping, with a fast-paced plot that keeps readers hooked from the start. The twists and turns are well-executed, and the psychological tension builds in an effective way. The author delves into the darker aspects of relationships, providing a look at manipulation, secrets, and the lengths people will go to for personal gain. The central premise of a seemingly perfect divorce unraveling into chaos is intriguing and makes for an entertaining read.
However, the character development leaves something to be desired. The protagonists, while flawed and complex, are often difficult to sympathize with, making it hard to fully invest emotionally in their journey. The narrative is driven more by the plot than by emotional depth, which can make it feel somewhat superficial at times.
Additionally, some readers may find the story's pacing uneven, with the middle section dragging a bit as the buildup to the more dramatic moments takes its time. While the twists in the latter half of the book are satisfying, they might feel a bit predictable for seasoned thriller readers.
Overall, *The Perfect Divorce* is a suspenseful read that delivers on thrills and twists but may fall short in terms of emotional engagement and character depth. For fans of fast-paced psychological thrillers who enjoy a plot-driven story, it offers a solid, though not entirely flawless, experience.

4 ⭐️ Thank you NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Jeneva Rose for the ARC of The Perfect Divorce. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a wild and fun ride!! Dare I say that this sequel was even BETTER than The Perfect Marriage?! That’s a big feat if you ask me! Loved every second of this novel and absolutely devoured it!

Twisty, shocking and unforgettable--this was Jeneva at her very best!!! Thank you to the publisher for the eARC via Netgalley,

Mother Goose is back with another impossible to put down, twisty thriller that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat! Phew, what a fun ride - The Perfect Marriage is one of my all time favorite thrillers so I absolutely couldn’t wait to get my hands on its sequel! This is rare, but I somehow think The Perfect Divorce was even better and comes out on top as my favorite Jeneva Rose book ever!? TPD is such a quick, easy read that had me furiously turning pages, needing to know what happened next. I have no doubt this will be a huge hit with Jeneva fans and thriller fans in general and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for another book in the series!
Thank you so much to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for my early digital copy for my honest thoughts!

Sarah Morgan has said her final goodbye to soon to be ex-husband, Adam. She's moved on with her life and has started a new marriage, motherhood, and a foundation. Quickly, Sarah's life begins to fall apart. When her new husband, Bob steps out on their marriage, a tidal wave of turmoil is at Sarah's front door. New evidence is uncovered in the case that sent Adam to his death. Bob's mistress is missing and the Morgan's divorce becomes explosive. Bob and Sarah have dirt on each other going back to one fatal night. When the day is done, who survives? The police are making headway, it's only a matter of time before the truth is set free.
Sarah Morgan is a bad*ss. She takes no grief from anyone and refuses to be bested. Sarah works hard and is attentive. She is definitely morally gray but in the best possible way. Thank you Netgalley and Blackstone for the advanced copy.

I thought this was a really great sequel. We got reminders of what happened in the previous book, The Perfect Marriage, and we got new information as well. I thought the couple of twists at the end were really good and that the story came together perfectly. Another great book by Jeneva Rose and I hope there will be more of Sarah Morgan.

LOVED this book. Great plot, super suspenseful, kept me guessing! I love when a book makes me gasp outloud!

This was a good book. I do feel like it’s going to turn into the housemaid series where the first one was really good and the next one’s just go downhill. I don’t think this book needed a sequel. Other than that, it was a good read. I liked wondering who was behind all the crimes. Sarah is an extremely scary person. I feel like bringing up Ryan’s murderer and then never finding that person or getting justice was a bit of a plot hole. I’m hoping the 3rd book will touch on that plot point.

I read the first book and the sequel back to back. I think the blend of the two stories is very well written and the second book has more twists than the first. Sequel can mostly be hit or miss for me but this one kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed all the story line and how the book is written from different peoples perspective. I’m also excited to know that Sarah’s stories is not over yet!

Thank you Blackstone, Jeneva and NetGalley for the ARC!!!
5 damn stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First of all hold please my jaw is still on the floor…ok I picked it up. I am honestly speechless 😶 like it’s gone. Mrs. Jeneva Rose bravo ma’am you killed it (no pun intended) again! I think this is better than the perfect marriage. Also is it weird I wish Sarah Morgan was my BFF? Cause lord knows we all need a Sarah in our lives. I have literally no words except read it! Do it! Also thanks for the spoiler in the acknowledgements glad my BFF Sarah will be back! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

“Why are men?”
Jeneva Rose did her big one with this one!
The Perfect Divorce takes place several years after The Perfect Marriage but it’s just like old times.. or is it? I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I never knew what to expect from one page to the next. If you’ re on the fence about this because of the first book, give it a shot, I think you’ll be surprised. Dare I say Jeneva has perfected her craft? I can say there’s nothing strange about that. I will definitely be picking up a physical copy April 15th.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store next!
*Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for the ARC. These are my personal opinions.
