Ok, so I will eat up Jeneva Rose's books without question. But I have been especially looking forward to the sequel to The Perfect Marriage. That book was such a fun rollercoaster ride. This sequel was just as captivating!

Eleven years has passed since Sarah Morgan defended her husband, Adam in the murder trial of his mistress. Sarah is now married to Bob Miller - but things aren't going well. Bob engaged in a one-night stand, and they are divorcing. Due to new evidence, Adam's case has been reopened. Sarah's life is starting to fall apart - and she needs to get it back on track. We know that Sarah can fight dirty, but Bob is fighting back. Who will come out on top? Who will live through it?

What I liked: I loved the constant state of the unknown, and the rollercoaster that the author takes you on. I actually really enjoy the use of unreliable narrators - I think it adds to the mystery. I wasn't sure where this story was going to go, considering how the first book ended, but the author had plenty of plot lines and loose ends to work with!

What I didn't like: Nothing. No notes!

If you are a fan of Jeneva Rose, you won't want to miss this one. It was definitely a page turner that kept me guessing!

Well this was a twisted and dark fun time! I really enjoyed this one and honestly think the sequel was even better than the first one - which I loved years ago when I read it when Jeneva was still an indie author. Huge thank you to Blackstone for my early readers copy! I think lovers of the first installment in this series will find themselves loving this one even more.

…...also is it just me or was that my name in this book?

Not a big fan of either. It was predictable and felt lacking. I wanted to be kept on the edge of my seat and for it to be an automatic page turner.

Even though a bit of this book may be a little bit out there, I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the first one as well. This picks up years after the first. A good bit of characters show up in this book that were in the last one. I won't tell you which ones, but you will definitely recognize quite a few.
This story is twisty and fun. It's easy to get into and hard to put down. You just want to know how it's all going to end considering, if you read the first one, you know how twisted things could turn out.
Just a fun story with great characters you love to hate.

The Perfect Divorce

If you haven’t read The Perfect Marriage - GO READ IT. Then come back. Spoilers ahead. (BUT, this is a 5 star read, so really, go read it.)

📖 It’s been 11 years since Sarah defended Adam against the charge of murdering his mistress. Adam was executed at the end of the last book, though we all *know he was innocent. After discovering that Bob had a one-night stand, Sarah wastes no time filing for divorce. During their ugly separation, new DNA evidence is uncovered in the case against Adam, forcing the police to reopen the investigation and putting Sarah right back into the spotlight. Then the woman Bob slept with goes missing, he and Sarah start to fight dirty, and new Sheriff Marcus Hudson is hell-bent on finding the truth.

📚 This might have been better than the first book! I could not stop turning the pages on this story, staying up way too late and squeezing in reading time whenever I could. Jeneva Rose has expertly crafted a bit of suspense with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I continued to wonder if Bob and Sarah would achieve the perfect divorce, or if it would be “til death do us part.”

🌟 5 stars, no notes. If you like mystery with a bit of drama, secrets, and murder mixed in then you’re going to want to pick this one up.

Special shoutout and thanks to @NetGalley @JenevaRoseAuthor @BlackstonePublishing for the advanced reader copy!

Sarah immediately files for divorce, and she and Bob engage in a tug ‘o war effort to gain custody of their nine year old daughter, Summer. Meanwhile, new DNA evidence surfaces forcing Prince William County’s current sheriff, Marcus Hudson, to reopen the case. First, thank you for granting me access to an e-arc of The Perfect Divorce for an honest review. Second, I think I had a good time with this. I am happy it ended the way it did versus the way the story wants you to think it will. One thing i didn’t like is all the different POVs, that was just too many for me. However, I did like that you do get to experience the police department considering Sarah for Kelly’s murder.

Thank you NetGalley and arc for my digital copy of the Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as The Perfect Marriage. I felt that the plot was lacking and the ending was predictable.

This book picks up 10 years after The Perfect Marriage left off. Since then, Sarah has married, and is now in the process of divorcing Bob after discovering his one-night stand. When his mistress ends up missing, Bob is convinced Sarah had something to do with it and the two start playing dirty to get custody of their daughter.

Another fun popcorn thriller from Jeneva! As always, there were plenty of twists and turns- some more predictable than others. I sped through this book in two days and can not wait for the next installment of the series!

Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Jeneva Rose does it again. I really liked this book, maybe not AS MUCH as the first one but it still had some good twists. Jeneva always comes through when it comes to thrillers.

I vaguely remember not loving The Perfect Marriage, and part of me wishes I had reread it. It recaps aspects of it nicely, but I didn't remember some of the smaller details.

Sarah Morgan is back. She's left behind high powered law, and spends her time helping people transition back to life after time in prison. She's in the middle of a contentious divorce with her current husband after some infidelity. Of course he's an immature ass about everything, and he won't do anything to make the divorce process smooth.

Then his lady friend ends up missing. He's convinced Sarah has something to do with it.

I can't decide if I love Sarah for how clever she is, or if I dislike her for how twisted things are in these books. But it was an excellent break from all of the romance I'd read on my vacation.

Thanks, NG!

If you liked the first story, you’ll enjoy this one! Sarah is at it again. I think the plot line of Summer adds a positive to this family we needed. I hope to hear more about her in the next book!

The characters were complex and intriguing, especially the way their motivations slowly unravel as the story progresses. I appreciated how the author wove suspense with emotional depth, making the plot feel real and intense. It was a gripping, thrilling read with just the right amount of drama, and I found myself eagerly flipping pages.
