A fascinating book that puts us into the world that Galileo lived in. We are taught about Galileo in school, and much of the myth holds true. But he was a man who lived in real time and place. An age of poetry, art, innovation, and new learning. It was a period where men were rediscovering the past and setting course for the future of Western Civilization. It was also a time in which a man could find himself foul of the gatekeepers in society if he was not careful. And Galileo was definitely not careful.
