This was as a thrilling, twist-filled novel that keeps me hooked from the very first page. This psychological suspense story explores themes of family secrets, deception, and the complexity of sibling relationships. The plot revolves around the mysterious death of a young woman and the ripple effects it has on her surviving sister. As the story unfolds, Douglas masterfully weaves a narrative full of secrets, lies, and shocking revelations that keep you questioning everything you thought you knew. The characters are well-crafted, each with their own motivations and hidden depths, making them both relatable and unpredictable. What truly sets this book apart is its ability to create an atmosphere of tension and suspense, where each chapter unveils a new twist that leaves you wanting more. The pacing is perfect—never dragging, yet always keeping the reader eagerly turning pages. The Wrong Sister is an addictive read that expertly combines mystery, emotional depth, and thrilling twists. If you’re a fan of suspenseful, character-driven novels with shocking surprises, this book will not disappoint. Claire Douglas has truly delivered a page-turner that will linger in your mind long after the final reveal.

I found this book really interesting at the beginning but a little over halfway through the ending of the book was really obvious to me. For this reason, I found the second half to be somewhat boring

This book has a lot going on! Family dynamics, a missing sibling, double DNA, two murders, and so much more! It takes place in London, and revolves mostly around two sisters Tasha and Alice, their husbands, mothers and mothers-in law, and Tasha's two little girls.
Alice and her husband Kyle offer Tasha and her husband Aaron a romantic getaway to their condo in Italy for a week, while they stay with the twin girls at home. While they are away, Kyle gets murdered, Alice hurt, and a note appears that says it was supposed to be Tasha. The whole story then spirals into clues, "who dunnit" scenarios, and twists and turns involving a host of other characters. It was pretty predictable towards the end, but then the ending kind of felt like the story just stopped. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy of "The Wrong Sister" by Claire Douglas.

This was my first Claire Douglas novel, and while I enjoyed it, I will say-- I struggled to chug through this. It is a slow building thriller, with an intricate story. I LEGIT thought I had it predicted up until the very last chapter, and then it twisted on me. It's a good read, but just wasn't what I needed at this time.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas
4 Stars

Family Drama? Layers of secrets? Murder? This book has it all.

Alice and her sister, Tasha, are quite different. However, they still share a closeness that can only come from experience the same childhood, the same family. Tasha and her husband Aaron live in the same small town they grew up in. Alice, with a Ph.D., and her husband, Kyle, are often traveling the world for the jobs or vacations. So when Tasha feels like she needs a vacation with her husband, Alice offers to come to her house to watch Tasha's twin daughters so that Tasha and Kyle can go to Venice where Alice and Kyle have an apartment.

Tasha and Aaron's trip comes to an abrupt end when Tasha receives a call telling her there's been a home invasion at her house leaving Alice in the hospital and Kyle dead. Upon their return home, Tasha receives a note saying "it was supposed to be you". Was this a burglary that went wrong or is there more to it?

This was my first book by Claire Douglas and it certainly won't be my last. I read the entire book in one sitting. It has me guessing all the way up until the final twist, which I did not see coming. The family drama and layers of secrets will no doubt have your mind spinning. This is the next suspense / thriller that you need to read!

Thank you to Claire Douglas, Harper Perennial and Paperbacks and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The wrong sister is a slow burn book about crime and the bond between sisters and the family secrets involved. I am usually not one for slow burns but, this one was a quick read for me, and I finished it in two days! The plot had lots of twists and had a great storyline.

The Wrong Sister is a slow-burning thriller about family secrets, shocking crimes, and the bond between sisters. This was a quick read and fairly unputdownable. While I figured out several of the twists, others kept me guessing. Bonus points of Princess Sofia the house cat (of course).

The Wrong Sister weaves a tangled web of intrigue and family dynamics. Alice and Kyle are trading homes and lives with her sister Tasha and Aarron for a week. It's the first time, Aaron and Tasha leave their twins. The women live totally different lives. Their mother moved to France after their father died. Their little sister was abducted as an infant and never found. While on vacation, Tasha and Aaron are followed by a knife wielding man. The trip is cut short by devastating news, Alice is in the hospital and Kyle is dead in a home invasion. The stories of the family are all tangled together. One string is unraveled and another tangled. One of the best books I have read this year.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing. There was good character development and i definitely didn’t see it ending the way that it did. I will definitely be checking out more from this author. Thanks for the ARC!

Tasha and Alice are sisters, although their lives are quite different. Tasha and her husband Aaron have small twin daughters and both work in jobs that don't pay exceptionally well. Alice and her husband Kyle are currently childless, but they live lives full of material and professional success. Alice works in medical research and Kyle has inherited a lot of family money. When Alice offers to let Tasha and Aaron use their Venice apartment for a much-needed getaway, it doesn't take long for them to agree. Alice and Kyle will stay at Tasha's house and watch the girls, so it's like the two sisters are, briefly, exchanging lives. In Venice, Tasha can't resist wearing Alice's expensive clothes, and with their similar coloring, it seems that a sinister man who begins following the couple may think he's targeting Alice. When a tragedy happens back home, Tasha puts the scary encounter out of her mind and rushes home. When the girls were children, their baby sister Holly was abducted and never found. Now it seems as if Holly may bear a grudge against her long-lost sisters. But why? And is she really the cause of all the scary incidents that have been happening to Alice and Tasha all these years later?

I enjoyed the story and the multiple points of view. It was fun to try to work out who was the villain in the story and what the motivation could be. The lengths several women go to in order to protect their families was an interesting theme and helped to tie up all the loose ends. Very enjoyable!

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial Paperbacks for the eARC.
Wow, what a great psychological novel, I couldn't stop reading it, it was so tense and suspenseful.
The love of two sisters for each other, even though one feels not quite good enough compared to the other, plays out in a shocking murder and painful upheaval for the entire family. At the very end a decision is made that's shocking but totally understandable.
Claire Douglas does it again, I love her books and can't wait for the next one! Highly recommended!

The novel centers around two compelling mysteries: the tragedy of Holly, the family's missing baby daughter, and the murder of Alice's husband, Kyle. These mysteries kept me engaged as a reader.
A recurring theme throughout the story is the lengths people will go to for the ones they love and it was fascinating to see how some of the characters interpreted this sentiment.
The ending was great and unexpectedly surprising; there were numerous possible outcomes, and the direction it took was one I didn't anticipate. I truly appreciate when a book can deliver such a twist!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for the ARC review. Having read Claire Douglas's work before, I was eager to dive into this new one.

An intriguing read for thriller lovers. This was a quick read for those that like to be thrown around the block a few times before coming home. Great audio as well.

I have never read a book by Claire Douglas until this one. This book kept me up all night reading. I had no idea what was going to happen. It was a suspenseful thriller with some good twists. I for sure recommend this book.

3.75 I hate that goodreads can't do half and .75 stars. Hate this app 😂 and that we can't give them on net.

I overall enjoyed this one. This was my first Claire Douglas book. It wasn't shocking and twisty enough for me but it was a quick read.

I really didn't like the dodgy investors part, I thought that was just too expected.

I did have my suspicions about Alice, so by the ending I was not surprised. I also suspected Viv had something to do with it but didn't think she was the sister of Bonnie's mom.

Guessing things pretty much made me not enjoy it as much as I think I would have had I not guessed it.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!

This thriller started with a slow simmer, building the character profiles, first with Tasha and her husband Aaron, then her sister Alice and husband Kyle. We learn about their dynamics, family history along with a family mystery of an abducted sister. When tragedy strikes in Tasha's home, the story strives to unsolve the mystery while intertwining additional characters and connections to the gamily. I did enjoy all the twists and turns, I look forward to reading more of this authors mysteries.
