This was a gripping, well-crafted thriller that kept me hooked. I love twists and turns and this one didn't disappoint. While reading the first 60% I was certain I knew who the killer was, only to end up completely surprised. The writing itself is clear and engaging, and the character development was perfect for me. I don't like over-explained details.

I look forward to reading more from Claire in the future.

I thought the book was slow to start but the middle and up to 2 chapters to the end were excellent. . This is a story of 2 sisters who have some secrets and when an unexpected murder and assult happens it starts a chain of reactions which all are somewhat connected. I did figure out the killer but the ending for me was not the best ending. My only other problem was there were a few scenarios which were not tied into the plot and felt like filler. I would however try another book by Claire Douglas. Thans to Harper Collins and Net Gallery for allowing me to read an advanced copy

This is a book that uncovers dark family secrets. There were several different POVs. I loved all of the twists and turns. The ending left me stunned. 4.5 - not a perfect 5 due to a bit of a slow beginning.

As a long time fan of Claire Douglas, I was so excited to review her newest book”The wrong sister.” I am also drawn to books that feature sisters as well as twisty family dramas. This book met my expectations! A special thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to preview this book!

This fast-paced and twisty psychological thriller follows Tasha as she unravels two intertwined mysteries—one involving a brutal attack on her sister and brother-in-law in her home, and another tied to the disappearance of their baby sister 30 years ago. The suspense builds through multiple perspectives, keeping readers hooked with well-placed hints and an ending that delivers a surprising twist. While some parts felt drawn out and left a lingering unanswered question, the story remained engaging and well-executed. A gripping read for thriller fans! Thanks to NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Claire Douglas book and it will not be my last. The sister dynamic and trying to figure out who and why someone would want to take out Tasha kept me guessing.

I appreciated the sister dynamic in this book, illustrating their different roles within the family after a traumatic event that occurred when they were young. The main mystery of the story was engaging while a secondary storyline really pulls you in and keep you guessing. I was trying to figure out how the two were related the entire time, which had me very engaged in the book. Truly enjoyed this one and would recommend.

Loved this one! I would Claire's grocery list. I have read many of her books and they do not disappoint. This book contained some of my favorite elements: UK setting, domestic thriller, lots of family secrets. Highly recommend to fans of Lisa Jewell and Alice Feeney

The Wrong Sister is a thriller that keeps you on your toes. Tasha and her sister, Alice, are close but have opposite lives. When they were younger, their family experienced a tragedy and lost their younger sister, Holly. Now that they are older, they are dealing with the trauma from that loss. Everything they have done in their life seems to be a result of that loss. Now tragedy has struck again but no one knows who caused it. The Wrong Sister takes you on twists and turns to unravel the mystery of Holly’s disappearance and the most recent tragedy in their lives. Family bonds are put to the test in this thriller that keeps you on your toes.

The Wrong Sister is a terrific domestic thriller with lots of possible suspects. There are sisters who are so different you wonder how they can be so close. You have husbands who definitely seem to have something to hide, and you have a baby kidnapped from the same village 30 years earlier. These facts all combine to create a terrific thriller that will have you spinning in circles as you try to figure out what really happened both 30 years ago and in the current time frame.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas

Finally getting around to writing a review for this one. Thank you @netgalley for the copy. I really enjoyed this twisty tale!

I have been in a bit of a reading slump with all the news going on, and instead focusing on how and where I can put my skills and time to good use.

Tasha and her husband, Aaron, go on their first vacation since having their twins. Tasha’s sister, Alice, and Alice’s husband, are watching the twins while Tasha and Aaron vacation at Alice’s and her husband’s home in Italy. While in Italy, Tasha and Aaron are accosted by a stranger, and shortly, thereafter, summoned back home because tragedy has struck their home. Alice and her husband have been attacked. A note shows up at Alice’s door indicating she may have been the target, but things are never as they seem, are they?

A super twisty tale with many suspicious characters. I really enjoyed this story and trying to figure out whodunnit.

3.75 stars rounded up. The premise of this story is super interesting. However, some of the characters are super misleading. I spent a lot of the book trying to figure out which character Holly could be. In the end, I feel like a lot of the pieces of the story come together. But, there is still some left to be desired and I would have loved to hear or see more of the "Eve" aspect of things.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks | Harper Paperbacks for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book felt a bit scattered to me. I thought there were a few characters who didn’t really need to be included. That said, it’s impressive how everything came together for Alice in the end. The story also beautifully shows how family ties can hold strong through anything.

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas

Whoa! Twist after twist, this psychological thriller is fueled by money, greed, and envy, or is it any of that at all?

As humans it is in our nature to compare ourselves to others, especially those closest to us. Yet, I also believe it is possible to be perfectly content with what we have and where we are in life despite how much more those of us around us might have.

You may or may not agree with me and depending on your view, you might have a completely different encounter with this book than I did. It’s amazing how life-perspective can impact our thought process when attempting to unwind so much mystery.

Take a seat and follow Tasha and Alice as they swap lifestyles for a week and come back to let me know if|when you solved the case!

Enjoy!

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins for an opportunity to read this ARC of The Wrong Sister.

Two sisters swap their living arrangements for a short time so Alice can take care of her nieces while her sister, Tasha goes on vacation with her husband. While each sister initially is enjoying their time, sinister things begin to happen.

This book had a few twists and turns along the way. From where the story began, I didn’t see a lot of where it was going. While I did guess a couple things, I thought overall it was a decent read and definitely kept my interest. I kept wanting to continue to reading so I could find out how it would all end. Many more secrets would be revealed along the way.

Tasha and Alice are two sisters, completely different people leading completely different lives.
Alice and her husband offer to come stay with Tasha's children for Tasha and her husband to get away a few days. Tasha enjoys stepping into the glamorous lifestyle her sister leads while Alice gets to spend time with her neices.
Then something terrible happens. Alice and her husband are attacked and her husband is killed.
Tasha races home to care for her sister.
Then she receives a message, " It was supposed to be you."
So many unanswered questions....
Add a sister who was kidnapped as an infant and the questions grow.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! The parts I most loved would spoil the twist, so I’ll leave those out, but the writing was fabulous and kept my interest the entire book. I fell in love with the characters, was shocked at every twist that came up, and I found myself staying up late just so I could read more. Highly recommend!

An engaging thriller that kept me guessing with its twists and suspenseful ending. Tasha, always living in her sister Alice’s shadow, swaps lives for a week—until a phone call reveals that Alice is in hospital and her husband Kyle is dead after an intruder breaks in. A chilling note, “It was supposed to be you,” adds to the mystery. Although the twists are clever, some plot elements feel outlandish. Not my favorite Claire Douglas book, but an entertaining read that earns a solid 3.5 stars.
