I had high hopes for this one as it started off strong! It went in too many directions and had too many secondary storylines for me to get into it. Towards the end I found myself just hoping for the book to be over. I thought maybe, just maybe there would be a twist I didn’t see coming that would redeem itself but it just didn’t do it for me.

I did enjoy the writing style and how easy it was too read. Just wish the story was more focused and direct. Would consider reading another of Claire Douglas’ books in the future still!

Thank you NetGalley and Claire Douglas for the ebook arc in exchange for an honest review!

Another clever story by Douglas!
Main character Tasha was relatable on a personal level which sucked me in immediately. The story has a lot to take in ... from a missing child to an attack, to an obsession to a secret, to even more secrets then to an ultimate twist! Although I could guess certain turns, that ending I did not expect!!!!

3.75 stars rounded up to 4! This was a quick read for me…my sweet spot for thrillers is around 375/400 pages so the length was perfect. It was an overall solid read. While some parts were a bit predictable, the plot was still engaging and kept me interested throughout. The premise was definitely interesting, and there were a few moments that surprised me, That said, some of the plot points felt a little familiar, and I wish the characters had a bit more depth. Overall, it’s an entertaining book with some suspense, though it doesn’t quite have the intense thrill I was hoping for. I’ve heard great things about this author, so I'm excited to check out more of her work!

Thank you Netgalley and Harper Paperbacks for this arc.

I found this book to be a solid middle of the road book. The plot was easy enough to follow, and the characters had some interesting aspects, but it didn’t keep me as enthralled as I would have liked.

I found myself a little disappointed in some plot threads that seemed to be woven in just as a distraction or as a clearly false lead to follow, only to be immediately discarded as not important to the plot.

If you’re just looking for a quick thriller read then this book will satisfy you. There isn’t anything Wrong with it, it just didn’t grab my interest as much as I would have liked.

I did like the relationship between the sisters, I’m always interested in reading about siblings, and I felt that their relationship was the part of the book I was able to enjoy the most. Especially the question posed at the end, what would you really do for your sister?

Tasha has always felt she lived in the shadow of her older sister, Alice. Tasha is married to her childhood sweetheart with 4 years old twins. Alice is married to Kyle a business man with a great career, Tasha needs a break, so Alice suggests a life swap. for a week. Alice and Kyle will come to Bristol and look after the twins, while Tasha and Harry live in Alice and Kyle’s Venice apartment.

A few days into the swap, Tasha's home in Bristol is broken into and Ken is killed and Alice is injured. Was this a burglary gone wrong or was Tasha the target. Will Tasha and Alice find the answers or stumble into something more sinister? Thanks netgalley

3.5 stars! This was a good book to read!! Although some parts were predictable, the plot was engaging and kept my interest the whole time! I couldn’t stop reading!

There were moments I was caught by surprise and that’s my favorite thing about thrillers!

My first read by Claire Douglas and overall, I enjoyed it! It felt like a slow-burn story, but I thought the plot was unique. I do wish that Bonnie's first chapter wasn't added so abruptly. It made me think that I had missed a chapter or character since she hadn't been mentioned up until that point. The biggest twist to me was the realization that Lola was Bonnie/Holly and I enjoyed that surprise. I am interested in reading more by Claire Douglas!

Throughout reading this, there definitely seemed like there was something dark and sinister at play....and there was! That ending, I never expected it and it explained so much!

Claire Douglas never disappoints and is an instant read author for me. I always enjoy her books and I love how she writes mysteries that can keep you guessing along the way. Her characters are always so different and interesting as well. Loved this book!

I couldn’t put this book down! The drama had me captivated from the beginning and the twists and turns throughout kept me plenty engaged.

Lots of twists and turns in this book that will keep you guessing until the very end. There were so many secondary characters, though, that made the plot a little “clunky”. I must say I was a bit underwhelmed with the ending.

*spoilers*

I liked it, but i wasn't overly in love with it. I'm glad my suspicions of Alice were right, I felt like she severely underreacted to...most everything. I didn't like how glossed over anything technical was. It's played off as "Oh normies wouldn't understand" but comes off as lazy research to me. Some of the twists were super far fetched, it just kept going and going and everyone was involved and it was a bit too much. Lots of slow luls where I skimmed to get through it. I did like the ending, when bonnie is united and Tasha chooses her sister.

This was pretty decent with some twists and turns. The book is pretty suspenseful, but not so much a thriller. I have heard great things about this author, and I look forward to reading more of her books!

Thank you net galley, Claire Douglas, and Penguin for an E-ARC of this book in exchange for my review.

This was a twisty read with multiple alternating points of view. I often loose interest in these types of books but this one held my interest! This was a nice and quick read when needing to change up book genres!

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas is an engaging psychological thriller with plenty of twists, but it doesn’t quite reach its full potential. While the premise is intriguing and the suspense builds well, some plot points feel predictable, and the characters could be more deeply developed. It’s a decent, entertaining read, but it lacks the gripping intensity of Douglas’s best work.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Paperbacks for my advanced copy.
All opinions are my own.

The layers of intrigue and deception are heavy in this story. At times it gets a little clunky and there is a pretty big gap of info that gets forgotten.

The ending sees everything explained, but I was left was a “huh” moment.

The red herrings could have been done so much better.

Overall, this one took me an embarrassing amount of time to get through, and I don’t know if it was worth it.

Talk about family drama!! This book was full of it without a doubt. There was sibling rivalry, loss, grief, jealousy, and a dash of secrets.

Before I go into my actual review, y'all. I have to say it. Who in their right mind names their child.....flossie. This has to be against some kind of law.

The actual story was twisty and unexpected. I loved the multiple POVs while still in third person. I called one twist pretty early on and yes I was extremely proud of myself. This book tackles loyalty and if your family deserves it just because they're your family. Where do you draw the line?

Favorite character? Freddie Mercury. Hands down.

Least favorite character: zoie. Fight me. Actually. Let's fight her all together.

The wrong sister is a slow burn book about crime and the bond between sisters and the family secrets involved. I am usually not one for slow burns but, this one was a quick read for me, and I finished it in two days! The plot had lots of twists and had a great storyline.

Claire Douglas’ The Wrong Sister is a wonderfully fun thriller that leaves you hooked on the edge of your seat until the very end. While this book makes no attempt to innovate in a genre that’s already saturated with good and riveting stories, it’s conversational tone and relatable characters make it easy to pick up and hard to put down. Overall, character development occurs on pace with the novel’s timeline, relationships and interactions are expressed well and feel genuine, and the climax feels natural, not forced. This book is perfect for a sunny beach day, or rainy evening.

In many ways, I believe that this book succeeds at misdirecting the reader away from the obvious culprit by interweaving so many other, secondary characters, into the novel. Each has opportunities and, in some cases, motive. The distraction technique worked well, in my opinion, as I wasn’t able to guess the true culprit until the very end.

I want to thank Claire Douglas, NetGalley, and Harper Collins Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest feedback and rating.
