Tasha and Alice are sisters who have taken different paths in life. Tasha lives a modest lifestyle while Alice is off experiencing the finer things in life. They decide to make a switch for Tasha to have romantic get away with her husband and Alice and her husband will take care of Tasha’s twins. It’s wonderful being on a trip in another country with her husband living luxuriously at her sister’s home even borrowing her clothes…Until it isn’t. Is someone following them? Meanwhile Alice is watching her nieces when a terrible home invasion happens, who would target Tasha!? Or have they got the wrong sister?
Fun read! Kept me guessing and I didn’t know who to suspect.

I could not put this book down! It’s filled with unexpected twists that keep you guessing. The story also makes you question what you would do to protect your family. I highly recommend this book. #TheWrongSister #NetGalley

If this story were a spider web with the plot in the middle, it would take the entirety of the story to see the spider. Even in the end, there were unanswered questions.
The story started and built slowly but once it got going, it was unstoppable. I couldn't put it down.
This was my first Clare Douglas book but it won't be my last.

A twisty plot. You may guess who did it, but will you guess why?? I didn’t. A good read. Lots of story lines. All to throw everyone off the plot twist. I would say this is worth the read.

Secrets run deep between Tasha, Kyle, Alice, and other characters in The Wrong Sister. Each of them has their own hidden truths, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, another twist surprised me. This book kept me guessing until the very end! The ending was shocking, but it felt a bit sudden, and the motive was a little hard to believe. Still, it was an exciting and twisty read. I’ll definitely check out more of her books. A solid 4-star read!

This was a new-to-me author that I ended up really enjoying. It was definitely a slow burn, but had me guessing up until the end. Tasha and Alice are sisters who end up switching homes for the week. Tasha and her husband are heading to Italy to vacation in Alice's glamorous vacation home, while Alice and Kyle will stay at Tasha's modest home in the suburbs to watch their nieces for the week. It's a brilliant plan.....that is, until someone breaks into Tasha's home while she is in Italy, injuring Alice and killing her husband Kyle. Tasha is guilt ridden and horrified that something so brutal could happen in their safe town, especially when she receives a note implying that Tasha and her husband Kyle were actually the intended targets.
As the days go by, Tasha struggles with what happened. Things only escalate when a local woman's body is found on their property, and then, a mystery from Tasha and Alice's childhood comes to light. Are all three of these events connected? If so...how? Can Tasha figure out who killed Kyle before yet another tragedy occurs?

While there is a lot going on in this book, for the most part, the author made it work. (Although there was one event that was left completely unresolved, almost as if Douglas just forgot about it). Be warned that this is a slow burn....you won't be flipping through the pages or staying up until all hours of the night, but I was curious and ultimately felt pretty satisfied with the ending. I am looking forward to reading another book by this author.

2.5 ⭐️, rounded up to 3

Claire Douglas’s novel, “The Wrong Sister” focuses on a family as they go through a terrible incident that changes all of their lives.

In terms of content, I thought that the story was very original. However, there was so much going on for some of the secondary characters that it was distracting. The author does a good job of setting up red herrings that it took me awhile to figure out the plot twist which was refreshing.

In terms of the writing, the story is told from multiple perspectives, Tasha who is the main protagonist and writes in first person, and Jeanette and Bonnie who write in third person. I could not stand the main character, she was very annoying to me because she came off as very insecure of herself (which I think goes to show that Douglas is a talented writer who can inspire such emotions in her readers!).

Douglas does a good job of creating a narrative that does leave you guessing while also making you think just how far you would go for family.

Thank you to the author and Netgalley for this ARC!

I loved this twisty thriller! It was a page turner and the plot/ending concludes in a way you won’t predict. I always enjoy a book with multiple POVs - although I particularly enjoyed that it stayed primarily with Tasha’s. I felt the characters were well developed and the story was not too rushed or dragging. Overall, really liked this read.

Claire Douglas does an incredible job with the business of secrets in The Wrong Sister. When Tasha and Alice switch homes for a week so Alice can babysit her nieces, nobody expects the tragedy that happens next.
Chilling notes, mysterious visitors, whispers, lies, and accusations have everyone wondering if anyone is safe and who is next to be targeted. Excellent thriller with twists that will keep even seasoned readers off balance.

3.5 stars. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I enjoyed this slow burn thriller/family drama. The family dynamics held my interest as did the overall mystery about the murder. I didn't not predict how the threads would come together and found the conclusion to be satisfying. This was another well-written tale by Douglas.

I liked this book, it’s a bit of a slow paced thriller but it works well with the storyline. I liked the two different mysteries going on at the same time and it keeps you interested in the story. I liked this a lot and have enjoyed all of this authors books so I was so excited to get this opportunity to read it.

Family drama at its finest…

This is as suspenseful, shocking, twisty. I enjoyed it a lot. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were way too many characters. I kept getting confused about the story at some parts because of how many people were involved in with what was going on. Other than that, it was a great read. It was one of those books where you’ll never guess the ending.

Thank you to the publisher and author for letting me read and review this book

The Wrong Sister by Claire Douglas is about two sisters who "swapped" lives/houses for a week so Tasha and Aaron can have a relaxing break from their twin daughters. But their break is stopped short when Alice and Kyle were victims of a house break-in, which left Kyle dead and Alice with a head injury. As the investigation goes on, family secrets are unraveled and the mystery of their long lost sister Holly is brought to light again.

This mystery/thriller had me hooked from the beginning. There were a couple of complex little side plots but it all tied in at the end mostly. I've read enough thrillers to see some of the twists and revelations coming. I thought the characters were well-developed. I would've given the book 5 stars, but there was one unresolved mystery that left me unsatisfied. However, the entire book took me on a journey of suspense, mystery, secrets, and confessions. It did not disappoint.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Claire Douglas, and publisher Harper Paperbacks for providing me with an ARC, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

I LOVED this book-it was face paced, interesting, twisted and I couldn't out it down. I loved the story being told from multiple point of views, but liked that they primarily stuck with Tasha's perspective.

I enjoyed the mystery element, as well as the family drama that was going on throughout the book.

This book was brilliant. Took me two days to read, couldn't put it down. The characters were really strong, they faced some decisions I wouldn't like to make. Plenty of twists, lots of thinking you know what happened only to find you don't. No spoilers or plot descriptions, if you like books that grip you from the start this is for you.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I've read many of Douglas' books and this one is very similiar. A slow burn that kept me reading. I really enjoyed the characters and their relationships.
This is another fantastic read from the author. It is a tense gripping and quite complex thriller, and the authors is great placing some red herrings to keep you guessing throughout. I hadn’t figured anything out until the conclusion of the story with the author’s trademark twist at the end. 5 stars from me.

Michelle Frances delivers a gripping psychological thriller with It Was Supposed to Be You, a novel packed with suspense, family secrets, and jaw-dropping twists. 📖🔥 From the very first page, I was hooked by the intriguing premise—two sisters who seem to have it all figured out, until one fateful night changes everything.

What I loved most about this book was the way it explored sisterhood and trust. 💔👭 Tasha and Alice’s relationship feels real—filled with love but also underlying tension, making their dynamic all the more compelling. The shocking attack on Alice and her husband raises countless questions, and when the ominous note arrives—*"It was supposed to be you"—*the tension skyrockets. 😱✉️

The mystery unfolds at a relentless pace, keeping me on edge with each new revelation. 🔍⚡ Frances masterfully builds suspense, making me question every character’s motives. Just when I thought I had figured it out, another twist hit me out of nowhere! The writing is sharp, the emotions raw, and the stakes incredibly high.

If you love fast-paced psychological thrillers with deep family drama and dark secrets, It Was Supposed to Be You is a must-read. ✅📚 It’s an electrifying ride that will keep you guessing until the final page. Highly recommended! 👏💀✨
