3 stars. I felt like this book started off slowly, and rushed the end. It seemed to be a little melodramatic, but sometimes I enjoy that! The plot was ok, but I did find myself having a hard time keeping track of characters and timelines. I did want to keep reading to find out the end though! All in all not my favorite read but an ok read.

I’m so glad I got this ARC, because I loved this book!

This book had so many fun little twists, and I read it in one day because I really needed to know how it ended 😂 I loved the way the author gave us different perspectives from the characters as well.

This was definitely an interesting story, and I thought it was well-written. It was fun trying to put together the puzzle pieces and figure out what actually happened. Even though I guessed some of it, I still found myself surprised by some of the ending.

My only gripe is that there was one big question that didn’t actually get answered, at least not fully. I don’t post spoilers but it left me missing just a little something.

However, I will say this book was still enjoyable and I did appreciate how everything else came together in the end.

The Wrong Sister was full of twists and empty leads that always kept me guessing. Between the side characters, it was almost like reading 3 novellas in one - which wasn’t my favorite. However, Claire Douglas did a fantastic job tying everything together in the end and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a really good who dunnit, you’re not sure from chapter to chapter what to thing or who to suspect. It was a little confusing at first but then it flowed well. The ending was satisfying too. I enjoyed it very much 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent read! Claire Douglas knows how to tell a story where you get surprised! Two sisters and their husbands lives are so different Tasha her husband and twin preschool daughters live in a modest home in a low to mid-income area. Her sister Alice is a successful scientist and her husband is developing a revolutionary medical breakthrough invention. World travelers with no money worries. They offer Tasha and her husband a week in Venice at their villa while Alice and her husband watch the girls. It's a great chance to get back some of the magic that has been missing from their marriage since the twins were born. It all goes wonderfully for a day or so then tragedy strikes. A break-in at the house and a murder. How could this happen? The storues has roller coaster events and surprises that will keep you interested! Excellent writing and easy to follow. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. I do recommend this book if you like a good mystery and family drama. Thanks, NetGalley and Harper-Collins Publisher is my personal opinion, it's a good read!

This book kept me guessing. Every time I thought I knew something, I was wrong. If I was right about something, there was a curveball thrown my way. Enjoyed this book..

A mix of family drama and crime this constantly kept me on my toes! It focuses on a murder and a child abduction that happened in the past. There were times where I wasn't sure which was actually the main focus but I was intrigued to see how each out play out and if they would be related.

My thoughts on who done it for each changed a few times during the read but I eventually began to pick up on clues as to where this was going. There were a few side characters that I felt weren't really needed but may have been added to cause some confusion.

I wanted to believe the best in everyone but knew at some point someone was going to be revealed to be rotten. I wasn't completely surprised in who it was however the ending did throw me for a loop! I know it had been briefly mentioned previously in the novel but it's not a term anyone would really know off hand.

All in all this was an easy quick read but nothing out of the ordinary!

I thought this book was a fun time! I really enjoy how fast paced the story was and the twist at the end was good. the only issues is that I think it tried to do too many things and left the book feeling a little clunky

“We’d do anything for the ones we love. I’m beginnning to understand that now more than ever.”

Wow, this was my first Claire Douglas book and it did not disappoint!

This book follows two different stories, one about a missing child and one about a murder, and as the book goes on, you learn about how the two stories are interconnected.

In addition to the thriller aspect of the novel (trying to figure out who the killer was), there was a lot of family dynamics described in the novel that I think a lot of people can relate to. This books talks about what it is like to lose a family member, to have a sibling who you always feel like you have to compete with, having a tough relationship with a spouse, and so much more. I was dying to finish the book to see all the changes in the family dynamics!

If you are someone who enjoys family dramas and suspenseful thrillers, this is definitely a book you should try! I will be picking up more Claire Douglas books after this one!

I also DID NOT see that ending coming!🫣

The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars was the slow start along with some parts being dragged out longer than necessary. It took me a while to kind of figure out where the author was going with the book, but once I did, I was hooked!

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.

The Wrong Sister comes out of the gate strong as a thriller. I was invested in the events that transpired in the first few chapters. After that, the book was a slow burn. The story is told in alternating points of view and timelines. That can sometimes make things confusing, but it was not an issue for this book. The multiple point of views kept things from getting stale.

After the slow burn, I feel the ending was a little rushed. I feel like everything was tied up a little too quickly. Although it didn’t have me on the edge of my seat, it is a solid book that will keep you invested. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Perennial and Paperbacks for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

➳ 3.25 ☆

this story follows a family, specifically two sisters : tasha & alice. they could not live more different lives, so one day they decide to swap their lives for a few days. while they do this swap, alice ends up staying at tasha's house with her husband kyle. whereas, tasha and her husband aaron stay in alice's home. during this stay, both alice and her husband kyle are attacked leaving kyle for dead. the mystery starts from here.

this is my first novel from this author and i am pleasantly surprised. the twists in this book were very obvious, so i would not pick this up if you are looking for an outlandish ending. i guessed the twist pretty quickly but that does not take away from the book. i thought this was a fast and easy thriller, with a great atmosphere. the reason why i can't rate this higher is because the stakes are REALLY low and there was a lot of romantic/marriage drama that seemed to drive a portion of the narrative. aside from this, i would recommend it if you need a quick read. i appreciate that claire did not drag certain plot devices & that all the questions are not answered. for once, the "twist" makes sense, and the fact that it leaves on a grey note, also works in this case.

thank you netgalley for the arc! this book is out on august 5th!

When Tasha and Aaron need a break from their girls and to rekindle their relationship, Tashas sister Alice offers her place. Everything is going well when Tasha suddenly receives a call that her sister Alice and husband have been attacked and her husband has been killed. Tasha and Aaron rush home to make sure their girls are okay and to take care of Alice. But then a note shows up at Tashas house saying "it was supposed to be you". From this point on there are many questions as to what is going on, who is doing this and why. Things start happening that are weird and secrets are exposed. But will everyone make it out alive?

This was an incredible book! It kept me on my toes from start to finish and I read it within one day. The beginning was a little slow to start but once it started up it didn't stop. The character of Alice was interesting and the stuff you find out about her is definitely unique to this book. This was a true thrill ride and I would read again!!

The novel offers an intriguing premise and a fast-paced narrative but ultimately falls short. Despite its twists, the plot becomes predictable, and the characters lack depth, making it hard to form a strong connection with them. The resolution feels rushed, leaving some threads unresolved.

Two sisters discover that the secrets they keep from each other prove to be deadly! Good book! This book had suspense, intriguing, murder, mystery, juicy secrets, a sort of who done it and a few crazy twists and turns! The story was interesting, it wasn't one of my top favorites, I just couldn’t get into it for some reason but still worth reading! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
