A couple of things that I know I will always get in a Jewel E Ann book are angst and plot twists!
Jaymes (Jamie) and Calvin (Fitz) are two souls who I think were destined to always find each other. They were meant to heal all of the heartache and loss they have experienced in their lives. It's never an easy path to get there, but they do find their way.
The relationship that Jamie builds with Fitz and his friends, as well as those around the town, is really heartwarming. Seeing that she really has no one but her best friend back home. The chemistry between her and Fitz is instant. The banter and the teasing. This group of friends felt like they could be my friends. The pain that Fitz and Jamie feel is real and biting. I like to always try to figure out the twists, but I really didn't see this one until I was right there.
I listened to the audio which was amazing. The angst and the feelings in the voices are so easy to get lost in. I finished the audio in 2 days. I had to know what was going to happen next. Loved this story! Great read!

Jewel’s books feel like home to me. I have a handful of authors I tend to stick to when things aren’t going well in my everyday life and Jewel is one of those authors. Her words bring me comfort and make me feel safe. Emotional? Yes and often she loves to shatter her reader's hearts but that makes it that much more special. She’s truly a master at her craft.

Jamie Andrews is a travelling psychiatrist nurse who has just taken a job in Montana and just started renting a room in a house full of firefighters. Lucky, right? Unfortunately one of the rules of living in the shared house is that you can’t date or hook up with each other… And to make this even more difficult…One of the three firefighters has grabbed her attention and his name is Calvin Fitzgerald. He’s the grumpiest of grumps, a sexy-as-sin smoke jumper and it seems that he and Jamie l have a connection and seem to push each other’s buttons.
Jamie is such a sweetheart. She’s a ray of sunshine and such a fun character. You can’t help but smile and fall in love with her when you are in her presence and that’s exactly what Calvin did.
Calvin may be this grumpy butthead, but there is more to him than that. He willingly puts his own life at risk as a firefighter and he’s such a brave man for that. He’s also quite reserved and doesn’t give much away about himself which only intrigues Jamie more and she’s made it her mission to remove these layers that he has and try and “fit” him.
The more time these two spend together, the more intense the chemistry gets and as much as they try and fight the no hook-up rule, they eventually give in to their desires. The banter between the two of them was absolutely hilarious and so fun to read.
I also loved getting to meet the secondary characters and I now need to know more about them!
The chemistry. The banter. The push and pull. I freaking loved it all, honestly! I didn’t want this book to end.
This was such an incredible story. It held a depth that kept me hooked and intrigued and on the edge of my seat. I did not see that twist coming either!
Please read this book! You won’t be disappointed.

Whew this one made me emotional on several occasions.
Fitz is the closed off guy with a traumatic past & Jamie is the girl trying to find herself in the world. Both have abandonment trauma and neither “want” to like each other but fate brings them together. 🥹🫶🏼
The audiobook for this one is incredible 5/5 ⭐️🎧

Narration:
The alternating female and male voice worked really well here, heightening and breaking up the tension in all the right places. I thought both were fantastic
If you're up for an all consuming star-crossed lover read u should def pick up From Air
Description:
After her mom passes, Jamie decides to take her psychiatric nursing career traveling. That's how she ends up in Montana, rooming with 3 firefighters. She quickly becomes good friends with them all, but it's the enigma that is Calvin Fitzgerald, a smoke jumper, who piques her interest most. Brooding Fitz, who goes out of his way to be rude, but quirks up a sexy smirk when Jamie bites back. Fitz keeps his cards close to his chest and Jamie is determined to get him to reveal all.
Fitz lives a life of danger, thrives on the risk of chasing actual fires, and is determined to have no responsibilities outside of himself; no one to keep promises to, to worry or disappoint, no one to stop him from facing potential danger on any given day. In spite of his spiky exterior, slowly but surely Jamie has him lowering his walls and he's not happy and it. There are very few people who know about Fitz past, why he is the way that he is, and he never counted on Jamie being one of them. But even if Jamie could break down all his barriers and help him finally allow love in, there are some things you just can't see past...
REVIEW:
The banter in this book was everything. Fitz and Jamie had the best one liners, one upping each other at every turn. It's that love to hate energy, the delicious tension and the ever satisfying return. You might think you can forsee the heart wrenching star-crossed-ness of it all, but just wait because there's so much more beneath the surface than u can imagine and it's gutting but u can always count on this author to put u back together in the end ❤️

Jewel E. Ann is amazing she writes in a way that no other author does. She makes me feel good then tears you apart and just builds you back. She adds some twists that you don’t see coming. She also creates these romance stories and that are amazing.
From Air was absolutely amazing. Not to give away a lot but I will be thinking about this book a lot and as I sit here and think about this book more and more I realize I can’t wait for Jewels next book.
Be ready cause this is a book I’ll be posting about a lot because Jewel knows how to make you think about a book and not stop.

By far my favorite from Jewel E. Ann. I've read quite a few of her books, and while I'm always impressed with her style and story-telling ability, From Air blew my socks off. It was so beautiful. Don't pass on this romance!

This book. All the emotions. All the banter. I loved this couple so much. I listened to the audiobook. The narrators, Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs, did a fantastic job! Ada especially performed her ass off. Her voice acting had me crying along with her. This was my first book from Jewel, and I need more! I wish more of her books were available on KU audio. I would listen to them all! This book was incredible. There were twists and turns I didn't see coming and so much emotion. The banter between the MCs was *chef's kiss* I laughed out loud on multiple occasions. I hope all her books have this type of humor and banter. I recommend checking it out. Both the ebook and the audiobook are available from KU. You will not be disappointed!
Quotes:
“You’re generous. Distractingly mesmerizing. Quirky in a brilliant way. And ineffably beautiful.”
“You kissed me, Fitz. Twice. Why did you kiss me?”
“Because not kissing you became too exhausting.”
“Jaymes, if I were normal, I’d love you enough. The problem is, I’m not normal, so I’d love you too much.”

cast for the voices of her MCs and they truly emoted the stories in ways that made you feel like you were present and witnessing the romance unfold.
I felt like both of the narrators were able to envision the story and the characters they had but also meshed really well with the other narrator. Ada Sinclair sound exactly like I imagined Jamie would sound and she was able to input the ranges of emotions and vulnerability into Jamie’s story that was needed. Nelson Hobbs also did wonderful with Calvin’s POV as the tension rackets up and I enjoyed the way he was able to use the shiftiness in Calvin’s character to add an extra oomf!
This is truly a wonderful audiobook and one that I was ecstatic to have the chance to listen to. I am excited for more to come!
Rating: 5/5; An amazing audiobook that truly brought the story and characters to life!

Review: From Air was a book that was supremely hard to put down! Jewel E. Ann once again gave us a book that ticks all the angst and emotional cups I have while reading and Jamie’s story was truly one that sucked me in. From the beginning I loved how strong yet broken Jamie’s character was the one who captured my attention and she kept it up until the very end. Jewel E. Ann was able to balance the struggles, the heart, the romance and Jamie’s growth in a way that did not feel rushed but also provided all the stuff we needed!
Jamie and Calvin are also a pair that just fit. From the first time they meet you can almost feel the instant connection and as the story goes on their connection and bond only grows. I enjoyed how they had very real faults as people in this story, I know the miscommunication and trouble communicating was a huge aspect of Calvin’s story and I found that it was managed really well in this book. I liked how his secrets and the way he was afraid to be completely vulnerable was one of the things that made him a perfectly flawed MMC.
From Air was a read that stuck after finishing and I am excited to get more characters from this series. Jewel E. Ann was able to captivate me while also giving us a romance that was able to keep me surprised as events and secrets unfolded.
Rating: 4/5; From Air was another emotional rollercoaster from Jewel E. Ann and I cannot wait for more!
Thank you to Valentine PR & Jewel E. Ann for sending me this eARC!

JEA gripped my heart and stole me away with this one. A grumpy firefighter providing all the banter, YES PLEASE! There is so many ups and downs in this one, so prepare yourself for a wild ride. The connection between these two is so beautiful. The narrators really take you through it with their emotions as well.

Wow, this is only my 2nd JEA book but I am so beyond enamored 😍 this book was perfection and I flew through it so fast! I listened to the audio and followed along with the gorgeous physical arc I was sent. Especially when it started to twist and turn so fast… I had to get my eyeballs on the pages to truly understand what was going on! My jaw was on the floor, and this was the definition of an emotional rollercoaster ☠️
This story was heartbreakingly beautiful with the perfect mix of romance, angst and spice! I am in awe of Jewel’s talent, I went into this one totally blind and was blown away once again! I loved Calvin, even when he made me so mad I still loved him. He is a smoke jumper and that’s just such a hot job! I am in my firefighter era 100%. His growth was huge and felt for all he was dealing with! Jamie was so strong and I was shocked at all she discovered about herself! The writing was beautiful, I was on the edge of my seat, I was sweating, swooning and bawling my eyes out! This is another book that will be stuck in my soul for a very very long time 🥹 I am so thankful that Valentine PR decided to send me this ARC! Y’all are the real MVPs!
I listened to this at 3x speed as always (thanks ADHD) the narration was amazing, easy to follow and crystal clear! Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs did the best job bringing Jamie and Calvin to life! Add this book and this author to your TBR immediately!

Calvin and Jamie's love story was so sweet and emotional. This will bring you to tears. The banter and chemistry between the two was so good. Can't wait for more in this series.
Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobb did an amazing job bringing both Calvin and Jamie's characters to life.

I LOVE ANGST and this delivered. 👏🏻There were also so many funny moments. Jaime and Calvin have some of the best banter I have ever read! 😂These two are complex characters and have to deal with trauma from their past. Jewel did a great job with the growth these two have together and individually! This is one of my favorite reads this month and I am running to go read more from Jewel! 🥹
Read if you love:

- angsty
- great banter
- roommates
About the narration:
The audiobook is dual narration and narrated by Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs. These are both new to me narrators and I really enjoyed them! The banter and the emotionally charged scenes were done so well. 😍

From Air is the first book in the Wildfire series. I was interested in reading this when I saw it was a firefighter, small town, and roommates romance. This book went to a different place than I was expecting with all of the trauma in both of the characters' past.
Jamie is a traveling nurse and moves to a small town in Montana, and she gets a house share with 3 firefighters. She has an immediate connection to Calvin (aka Fitz), but the rule of the house is that the roommates can’t date. They have great banter and chemistry; however, Fitz is pretty closed off from the trauma in his past. I just had a hard time connecting with this couple, and their relationship felt more like instalove. He pushed her away in the beginning, yet she was calling him her person. It was just way too soon.
I also had issues with the twist that was revealed in the last 3rd of the book, which somehow connected their pasts, and it was completely unbelievable. I just felt like the author was trying to throw in more trauma for both of the character’s pasts to add angst and conflict.

This audiobook was narrated by Nelson Hobbs and Ada Sinclair. I think this was the first time I have listened to these narrators, and I think they did a good job bringing the emotion with their performances.

Thank you to Valentine PR and NetGalley for providing the ALC.

jamie moves into a house full of firefighters in montana, and things quickly become intense. as a psychiatric nurse, she's drawn to these men, especially calvin, a gruff and mysterious smoke jumper. intrigued by him, she starts teasing him to get him to open up, but he can hold his own. sparks fly between them, but calvin has a secret he's unwilling to share. when circumstances pull them apart, jamie uncovers more than she expected. now, she must follow the clues to see if she'll find a future with calvin or if everything will burn out.
this book was such an emotional rollercoaster, and i was so hooked into this book because the tension between jamie and fitz hooked me right away. the story was intense and heartbreaking but was balanced with some really sweet moments. i loved jamie’s strength and independence and fitz’s journey from being guarded to opening up was so beautiful to watch. their banter was amazing and they had this deep connection, and the romance had the perfect mix of heat and heart. the found family vibes with the rest of the house added so much warmth. this story gave me everything i wanted: angst, healing, and a love that felt raw and real. this book took a lot of turns that i wasn't really expect though holy shit.
thank you net galley for the alc of this book.

Wildfire #1
Emotional, beautiful story
“You’re my person. My best person.”
Sigh. Just sigh. This is the first book by Jewel E. Ann for me and it was incredible. First, you had me at a house full of firefighters in Montana. But then she goes on and writes these amazing characters that you feel from page one until the end.
Jamie takes a job across country to start over after her mother’s death. She rents a ‘room’ in a house full of firefighters. Calvin Fitzgerald or Fitz is one of them. The exchanges and banter between these two from the start is second to none. These two are the epitome of grumpy / sunshine with a funny surrounding cast of characters. You find out that these characters are flawed as well and each dealing with it differently.
Narrated by Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs. Both narrators are newer to me and they delivered. They handled the emotional range required amazingly and I can’t wait to explore more from these two.
The writing and storytelling of this were outstanding. Jewel E. Ann has a gift of bringing you in immediately and then wrecking you but left me completely riveted until the end. I wasn’t ready for the unexpected twists this took. It had laughs, tears and all the feelings in between. I can’t wait for the next in this series and to check out more from this author.

Mind Blown! This book and its plot twists were wild. Calvin is probably the epitome of my book boyfriend, he's grumpy and "protecting himself/others". Get your tissues handy if you cry with your books because this one hit me in the feels in all the best ways. This audio was one that enhanced the story in the best way. Get ready to fall in love with this author's work, she's a new to me author and I will be looking for more of her books to add to my TBR. If you love a story with fire fighters then you will want to get this and I can only imagine the series is going to be fire!

I don't think emotional is a big enough word to cover how this book made me feel! I have seen everyone raving about this author and I can see why! What a rollercoaster this was! I just loved everything about it, the banter, the feels, the burn, the heartache and more. The audio was brilliant. Both narrators brought all the emotion and feeling into this story and it just elevated the story to another level. A great story and unlike anything I've read. Loved the twist and turns. Can't wait for book 2.

"Jaymes Andrews is the best mistake I've ever made."
Jewel E Ann, excuse me ma'am, what did you put in this book? This one had me from the jump. I couldn't even tell you why I was so addicted to Calvin Fitzgerald and Jaymes but I was obsessed with their story from start to finish.
Jaymes (Jamie) is a travel nurse who had come to Montana for an 8 week job assignment. She moves into a house with three hot shot firefighters. One in particular, Calvin "Fitz" Fitzgerald, is of course a grump and the banter starts from the jump. Jamie is not deterred by his grumpiness and decides that he is going to be her person. These two quickly become interwoven, they can't be together but also can't stay apart. Fitz refuses to be with anyone after his tragic past and has decided his only devotion will be to his job. Jamie burrows her way under his skin though and eventually they can't not be together. They know they only have moments but take advantage of every one.
There was a thread of mystery throughout the book between both of their pasts. I wasn't prepared for the big reveal (even though I had an idea it was coming) and it just broke my heart watching these two being pulled apart by life and circumstance. Of course this is a romance so we were rewarded with a beautiful happily ever after that was fought for and so well deserved. I don't want to say a ton about this book as I feel going in blind (ish) was a great way to enjoy this one!
I did the audio of this story and MAN I WAS HOOKED! Both narrators did a fantastic job. They were easy to understand, I listen at 1.5x speed, and brought so much emotion through their voices. Together they brought this story to life and it felt like I was was watching a movie in my head.
Thank you Jewel E Ann and Valentine PR for the ALC of this story.

This audiobook was narrated by Nelson Hobbs and Ada Sinclair.
Nelson i have heard before and does a good job Ada was new to me but still did a good job.
The story itself they were opposites and while was a grump and guarded she was open and willing. There was a reason for his walls which stem from his past. While the story was good until that twist that I did not see or the need for it but that is my opinion. Mainly the audio was what made it for me.

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 (rounded up to 5)
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I wasn’t really sure where this story was going when I started listening but oh my god. I loved it. I would find myself tearing up while driving in the car listening to James and Fitz and the love they clearly had for each other but were fighting it (at the start). The whole “my person” thing gah just straight to my feels.
And the twist. Oh my word. Not gonna lie, I could sense what it was going to be but the dramatics of it all just slapped me in the face and I was not ready for it.
So thank you Valentine PR and Jewel E. Ann for the opportunity to listen to this new romance story. It was my first of Jewel E. Ann’s and it will not be the last.
