This was such an emotional and beautiful story.
I absolutely adore James, she is such a free spirit with a beautiful soul. She is the total opposite of Fitz, he is set in his ways & doesn’t believe in love, yet when life brings them together sparks ignite.
I love the snark and banter, how well they play off of each other and taunt & tease each other. Jamie slowly dug her way into Fitz heart, and it was absolutely beautiful.
There is so much love and passion between James & Fitz. There is bone deep heartbreak, there is this incredible and intense love that they both feel, there are earth shattering secrets, and hope that love will be the balm to soothe the grief of their pasts.
This was beautiful and fun and heartbreaking. I laughed and bawled.
The narration was perfection.

From Air is an emotional, angsty, and beautifully written romance that captured my heart. Jamie, a traveling psych nurse, moves to Montana and ends up living with a group of firefighters, including Calvin "Fitz" Fitzgerald—a broody, secretive smoke jumper with a heart of gold beneath his tough exterior. Their chemistry is undeniable, and the slow-burn tension between them is masterfully done.
Jewel E. Ann weaves a tale filled with heartfelt banter, swoon-worthy moments, and a plot twist I never saw coming. The narrators, Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs, brought these characters to life with an incredible dual performance, making the audiobook a standout experience.
With elements like grumpy/sunshine dynamics, forbidden romance, and found family vibes, From Air had me hooked from start to finish. It’s a must-read for fans of heartfelt, angsty romances with depth and unforgettable characters. If you haven’t read any of Jewel E. Ann books yet, this is definitely a place to start.
Very grateful to the publisher and @brilianceaudio for my ALC , opinions are my own

I seriously couldn't stop listening to the alc, and I was consumed!!! The love story of Fitz and Jamie was a heart wrenching one. If I was put in their shoes, I honestly have no idea what I would do. 😭 It was definitely not an easy decision especially after all the pain that they had carried throughout their life.
Jamie was a travel nurse, and she took a job in Missoula where she'll be roommates with three other people: Fitz, Will, and Maren. Fitz was a super grumpy smoke jumper, meaning he's a firefighter who jumps into the fire to put it out. Jamie fell first, but Fitz definitely fell harder. Jamie brought out the best of Fitz especially when he had so much baggage that he didn't open up to anyone. The dynamic of their relationship was beautifully well written. The banter, the flirting made me love them even more.
I'm not going to say more because I don't want to spoil it, but just know that it's a no brainer to pick this one up. Easily one of my top reads of the year!!!

Truly, is there no story that Jewel E. Ann can tell that will unequivocally wreck and heal me all at once?! The captivating prose, the deeply nuanced and layered characters, the unexpected page turning twists, and as always, the immersive and wonderfully catalytic tension between our leads ALL BURN so brightly in From Air. And the banter?! Dare I saw, Jewel bantered the hardest she’s bantered before. Jewel delivers yet another emotionally rich, beautifully told, and intense but endlessly heartfelt love story that squeezed my heart so tightly in a way only Jewel E. Ann can do. I adored this first outing in the Wildfire world, and I can’t wait for more!
There’s something so effortlessly in the way Jewel captures the very breath of her characters. She deftly digs underneath their layers to flay them open in a way that feels so vulnerable, but also somehow emotionally liberting all at once. Her character-forward, psychologically and emotionally immersive approach to story telling makes for stories that are wonderfully immersive- it’s why they HURT so much, why they hit us in the core of our hearts. Because Jewel not only exposes the very being of her characters- damages and all, but in going so she helps us find pieces of ourselves, our own damages and insecurities and passions, that are amplified in the way we connect to her characters. It’s deliciously existential, and makes for a heck of a rollercoaster, but it’s also why her stories hit us so deeply. Because at the core- this story (and her others) are about our HUMANNESS…and how the broken pieces we bear can be healed by the most human emotion of all…LOVE.
Jamie and Fitz are such lovable characters, and they both captured my heart straight away, even with Fitzy’s grumpy mercurial start. Jamie is deeply charming- she’s full of light and love, but she’s also wonderfully sassy and witty. She rubs fits in all the wrong..and then right LOL…ways, which makes for some epic chemistry. The push-pull attraction and the banter are top tier- and the forbidden nature of their dynamic adds even more juicy tension. And Fitz, oh my heart, he’s the classically broken Jewel hero that has SO much to unpack, and it just takes the right connection to catalyze the opening of his heart- and Jamie just does this.
Of course, Jewel gives us the most angsty love story and then adds in her own epic twists. The only thing I’ve learned to expect with JEA is that it’s going to be UNEXPECTEDi in every way. I cried, I laughed, I swooned. My heart hurt, but it also healed. Love is never easy in a JEA story, but that’s what makes it all the more magical….all the more rewarding. Heartbreak somehow makes the heart love stronger.
The audiobook was really well produced and so emotional. Ada Sinclair & Nelson Hobbs both brought so much intensity and charm to their performances, I felt so immersed in every word.
I can not wait for more from this world, and I know every story will be as captivating as the last.

This was my first book from Jewel E. Ann and it definitely won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed Fitz and James relationship. Their banter was unmatched. Fitz was the perfect grumpy broody MMC and James a strong, witty FMC. I loved that the book was set in Montana. I cannot wait to see what this series brings. I listened to the Audiobook and the narrators (Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs) did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Highly recommend

This book is outstanding! From Air is my first book by Jewel E. Ann, and it won't be my last. I am ALL IN. Jamie and Calvin's story took me on an emotional journey, and I loved every moment.
Jamie "Jaymes" Andrews, a traveling psych nurse, heads to Montana for her next assignment and ends up living with a group of firefighters, including Calvin "Fitz" Fitzgerald—a 35-year-old, broody, workaholic smoke jumper. There are strict house rules, but that doesn’t stop sparks from flying. What starts as teasing and playful banter quickly turns into something deeper. Fitz is married to his job and is not looking for love, but Jamie can't help but be drawn to him. They have amazing chemistry, and Jamie is determined to peel back Fitz's many layers. As they grow closer, past trauma and secrets revealed threaten to ruin it all.
I was completely invested in Jamie and Fitz's journey. The plot is perfect, and the twists and turns literally left me speechless. This story made me feel every emotion. I yelled, was shocked, cried, and swooned over the grumpy and broken Fitz. This book broke my heart, then put it back together. From Air is a forbidden slow-burn angsty romance with delicious steam, fun side characters, amazing characters with depth, and top-tier found family vibes. This book DELIVERED and checks all the boxes. From Air is beautifully written, and the story wraps up with a perfectly satisfying ending. This is a must-read/listen, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Narration:
Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs perform this audiobook in dual-style narration. I am highly impressed with their captivating performances. They both put so much emotion into their portrayals of the characters and really brought them to life. This audiobook elevated my experience with the story.

This is my first book from Jewel & WOW! This one had a plot twist, I definitely didn’t see coming!! I was just expecting a sweet, small town romance & got some angsty, twisted kind of soul mate type of romance. Jamie looses her mom & decides to take a job as a travel nurse, and her first stop is Montana. She moves in with a group of firefighters, with one main rule, no romantic relationships within the household. Two of her roommates are friendly, fun & open, while the other is standoffish, grumpy & closed off. Of course Jamie finds herself drawn to the grumpy Calvin Fitzgerald. She is a caretaker at heart & sees his closed of personality as hidden secrets & potential trauma. Calvin also finds himself drawn to Jamie, her big heart & sunshine attitude. They try to keep it platonic, but things definitely heat up & BURN! The plot twist definitely tests everything Jamie & Calvin believe in & their love for each other. I can’t wait to read more from Jewel!!
Thank you Jewel E. Ann, Valentine PR & NetGalley for the ARC & ALC!

This book started really strong for me. I LOVED the banter and the enemy to lover/forbidden roommate love vibe. I did think that they turned into friends/lovers a little too quickly - and the ending ended up a little soap opera-y, but overall - I really like this audio. Calvin really is a sweetheart on the inside, and I'm so glad we got to see him at his full potential! This book also had a little mystery to it - which I did like. I will keep up with this series to see who's next!
Thank you to Valentine PR for this ALC!

Audio Review:
Angsty, forbidden, firefighter romance all things that made this book be glued to my ears as I listened to the narrators. I went in blind, knowing only that it was a firefighter romance and with being the wife of a firefighter sometimes I like to listen to how people portray it in the books. My headphones were plastered to my ears as I sat in a trance lost int his beautiful world of falling hard and fast. Jamie and Fitz stole my heart and kept it captured the whole book. The characters are complex but loveable. You can feel the chemistry through the narrations. Narrators Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs did a fantastic job narrating this book and this was the first narration I heard from them and I look forward to listening to more of them.

Like every Jewel E. Ann book I’ve read, From Air packed with tension, humor, and heart. When Jayme Andrews moves in with a house full of firefighters, her playful, curious nature meets its match in Calvin, a grumpy and guarded smoke jumper with a mystery she can’t resist unraveling.
Jewel E. Ann masterfully balances lighthearted banter with raw emotion, making Jayme and Fitz’s connection both fiery and tender. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it’s the slow unraveling of Fitz’s secrets that truly ignites this story.
The narrators do an excellent job capturing Jayme’s playful, curious nature and Fitz’s brooding intensity. Their voices are distinct and full of emotion, effortlessly pulling you into their banter, chemistry, and the tender moments that make this story unforgettable.

This book is exactly why I love Jewel E Ann. Her ability to weave a story is impeccable. Meet Jamie, a traveling nurse on a mission to see all the cities on her list. Stopping in Montana, she takes a job and moves in with three firefighters. The one rule they have is do not sleep with any of the roommates. Calvin is a smoke jumper. He keeps to himself and is nothing but sarcastic and quiet around Jamie. But there is a definite pull between them, but the lack of giving of himself definitely puts a wedge in their secret, building relationship. Where does this go? It's so well written, I was completely engrossed in the story. Twists and turns, tragedy and happiness. I could not stop listening, and loved every minute of this. The secondary characters add so much, from Calvin's grandmother to Jamie's patient, Dwight. I cannot wait to see where she takes the next book in this series.
Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs bring out all the feels in this story. Sinclair is perfect as Jamie. The nurse warmth and love comes through in her personality and the passion and patience she gives Calvin is incredible, all with the inflections in her voice. Nelson Hobbs is the cold Calvin. But is he really cold? Hobbs gives this character so much depth making it easy to hear the layers of pain and unhappiness he carries with the need to melt the ice around his heart. It's a fantastic performance by both and had me captivated for hours!

"He's mine. She's mine."
I loved this book so much!! I was immediately obsessed with Jamie and Fitz and knew from the first 20-30% this was going to be a five star read for me. The audio was great and I was so glad I was able to listen so I could devour this!!
These two had amazing chemistry right from the beginning and I loved how they became friends and each other's person so quickly. The BANTER!! They truly just got each other, despite having some differing views on how they want their lives and families to look. Fitz was so against any sort of relationship and a future family, while Jamie knew she wanted a family. So they try to stay just friends. But of course they can't deny their feelings for too long!!
I loved Jamie!! I loved that she was a travel nurse and loved how she did what she needed to do for her. And Fitz!! He definitely had his frustrating moments and had to work through his past, but I loved how he loved Jamie. Like the little things he did, the tattoos, his grandmother, so so perfect. I loved that this was a little forbidden, we've got an age gap, a firefighter..like this has it all. And the spice was definitely spicing!
I also loved that we got a great plot and storyline to go with the romance that kept me interested and guessing throughout! Some romances lately the couple gets together and then there's not much plot to keep me interested. But this had the perfect mix of angst and plot and romance and I just had the best time reading.
I can't wait for the next book in the series, I will 1000% be picking it up and highly recommend y'all read this one!

Wow! This was such a wonderful story. I loved how everything came together between the banter between Jamie and Calvin and then so many secrets and unexpected twists. I found myself laughing so many times and then at the end just feeling so shattered for all that these two had gone through. The depth of their relationship was so well developed that their love was palpable. From Air is an absolute must read!
The audiobook performances by Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs were fantastic and I was so impressed with the listening experience that they created.

Roommates
Will they won’t they
TWISTS UPON TWIST!!!!!!!!
At first I was on edge with the will they won’t they , than the enemies to lovers/ forbidden romance. It was giving new girl Jess and nick vibes but spicier and I was 1000% here for it .
Once the story line developed I couldn’t stop listening .
I got comfortable, I thought this was all fluffy and a good time . NOPE
The whiplash I got from this book was unreal, I got comfortable and Jewel yanked that rug from under me . I screamed ! My jaw detached from my face in shock. Once Calvin’s story was unveiled I was emotional. BUT THATS NOT IT , was it jewel ?
No, I was jerked a few more times until I was a freaken MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next, my heart was ripped out and thrown into oncoming traffic .
I’m sitting there at 87% a freaken mess, terrified to continue because damn it my heart is on edge.
The ending , whew .
I loved this book more than I could’ve imagined, jewel I’m obsessed with you now . So I’m gonna need book two before march. Thanks

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this latest novel by Jewel E Ann but was excited enough to dive in.
As a travelling nurse, Jamie is keen to experience life and work in places other than her native Florida.
I very quickly became completely ensnared by both the characters and the continual feeling that there was something in the background of Jamie and Fitz's past that could be earth shattering.
The development of the relationship between Fitz and Jamie is initially built on sarcasm and snark and the forbidden aspect adds a bit of additional mystery.
You will not be disappointed in this first novel in the new Wildfire series and I am certainly looking forward to what has to come.
Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs brought this amazing story to life and really captured the characters' personalities perfectly.

I was thrown for loop after loop here!!! I truly felt like the Jennifer Lawrence “what do you mean?!” meme!!! Every bit of new information we got eventually added to a plot twist which I thought was so fun & loved the way everything connected together in the end
I fucking loved Fitz. I loved that he was a dick but was honest about why he was the way he was so you couldn’t even be mad at him. Jaymes changed his entire perspective on life & her love made him a better man 😭
My poor girl Jaymes went through the wringer in this one. The mental health representation was top tier & I loved the storyline with her dad!!!
I could not be more grateful to have read an alc of this story, the narrators made this book so much more emotional than I originally thought it would be & I fell in love- thank you to Valentine PR, NetGalley & the author 🫶🏻

Get ready for gut punch after gut punch. No one does the angst with a payoff like Jewel e Ann.
The suffering is layers deep, but I waded through it because Jamie and Fitz love was beautiful. They both are reluctant for different reasons, but sometimes love is worth the jump.
The things they get hit with.. HURT!
But I never stopped rooting for them, and it made this bittersweet story so satisfying.
There were a few aspects that challenged me but it was worth the read.
I listened to an audio that was narrated by Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs.

I have read a few book now by Jewel E. Ann and she's definitely a must read author. This is the first one I listened to in audio and I devoured it. I didn't want to stop listening to it. The narrators Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs did a wonderful job telling this story. I felt like I was there with them in this small town. Their voices were so smooth which held my attention and kept me entertained throughout the book. Jamie is a traveling psychiatric nurse and moves in with a house full of firefighters. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly except for the grump Calvin aka Fitz. As much as they want to fight their feelings for each other sparks do start to fly between them. But they have a No sleeping with roommates in their lease so they will have to fight the spark. This book does have some emotional and heartfelt moments. But there are times you will laugh, swoon and smile like crazy! I love the friendship and bond these characters have with each other. The story and characters are well written and enjoyable. I can't wait to see what's next for this series. I would HIGHLY recommend this audiobook.
Thank you Netgalley and Brilliance Publishing | Brilliance Audio for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was amazing.
This story was so special and unique, I loved them. They were fated together and I just love these types of books.
Everything aligned for them, from their get together to the plot twists that happened (I had some theories but I was very very wrong!!)This book surprised me, and always kept my interest.
The banter between them was amazing, the attraction, the longing, their games of cat and mouse, their slow connection, everything connected them and made me root for them, they were inevitable.
Fittz is grumpy but he is the most lovable character and all the small things that he does for her completely melted my heart.
Jenny's heart and understanding and maturity is disarming, she is a fixer and empathic and the most sunshine.
The first half of the book is their story and their connection and then the other half is them healing from their past and discovering a lot of things, but it's done in a way that you feel everything with them, the small things and connections are so well done.

I wasn't fond of the narrators voices mainly the male narrator but they did a good of bringing From Air and its characters to life.
I enjoyed this story immensely. It blended lighthearted, humor, heartbreak and devastating loss together without them overshadowing each other or bogging down the story. At times it was heavy and emotionally weighty but it never got to the point of being depressing. It was also angsty, truth be told that that angst was a main character. It was so palpable it took on a life of its own.
From Air was an emotional wrecking ball of a read but I loved every moment of it. It was packed with gut punching twists and turns and secrets galore. It was a great read, one I highly recommend.
