Nissa isn't happy with her new stepmother at home in Louisiana or the changes she's making in their home. She moves to Chicago to be with her mother but finds the fast paced life overwhelming as well. Her life feels unstable, out of control. She just wants a normal life and in the end learns to appreciate the day to day with her family, both new and old.
