Adorable story with great illustrations. A student of wizardry and his newly appointed pet dragon have to master their skillset together! Silly and fun for young readers. Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC!
I thought that this was a great story with a positive message that normalises mistakes - after all we all make them throughout our lives so they should really be widely accepted as the norm, especially at the age of children.
I like the characters and their development as the book progresses. The story was easy to read and follow and it was enjoyable from start to finish.
The illustrations really suit the story and help to bring it all to life.
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!
The book was okay. Definitely had Harry Potter vibes to it. The dragon was cute and the illustrations were cute and funny. The writing had a nice rhythm to it, but my son wasn't super into the story and it wasn't something we'd want to read over and over
This children's book is geared towards the young elementary age children. While it starts off very similar to Harry Potter, it turns into young Rago training his pet dragon at wizard school.
Get ready for some giggles and fun as we follow along with Rago as he gets used to his new pet dragon. Rago is a wizard in training and gets to have a pet. He gets a dragon! We get to laugh along with Rago as he tries to find a bed, food and more for his dragon. It isn’t easy, that’s for sure. You can imagine the chaos. The rhyming text creates a flowing story that your little ones will want to follow along time and time again. The colorful illustrations are as playful looking as the story is. Your little ones will love this adventure. Discover it together with your family.
Young children’s picture and rhyming story. Story line will definitely be enjoyed by child and parent. A story of keep trying and don’t give up. Though some of the rhyming meter is a little off, but so much as to spoil the whole experience. Thank you to AMC Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
This was a wonderful little read! I think it's a perfect addition to any bookshelf looking to add a cute and fummy book to their life. It also felt a little nostalgic and gave a 90's vibe, which I love! Felt like I was a kid again reading this book.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
Love the artwork and story. This story normalizes making mistakes. This is a great lesson for all children, no one is perfect. How we learn to handle mistakes defines part of our personality. This student and his pet dragon are lovable and relatable. Who doesn't want a pet dragon!!!
