This was an intriguing look at three very different women and the secrets they hide. It's also an interesting view into how women forge friendships with incredibly tight bonds despite or because of their challenging circumstances. I enjoyed the little reveals along the way to the explosive yet satisfying ending. If you enjoy audiobooks the narration for this one is fantastic and really brings the story to life.

Things we never say is Big Little Lies meets One of Us Is Dead in the best possible way.
The unexpected camaraderie between Maggie, Anna and Rhea was delightful.
I enjoyed the mystery behind the scandal as well as their individual lives and problems.
I loved how each of the women’s confidence grew leaps and bounds as they worked together through both their own issues as well as the scandal.

This was my first read by Caitlin Weaver and I will immediately be reading her previous book and anything she writes next.

Anna, Maggie, and Rhea have nothing in common, until thrown together for volunteer efforts to organize a gala for their children's elite school.
While at a glance, each woman's life appears happy and normal, the facade falls quickly and we learn all is not as it seems.

Big focus on marriage, relationships, and things we will do for our children. This audiobook was well done, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.

Three women, three secrets. How will these secrets effect each one of their lives and will this bind these women together or tear them apart?

Maggie, Rhea and Anna are brought together on the Civitas committee for the school gala. They have nothing in common at first but as they get to know each other they realize they are all keeping secrets that could break their families apart. I enjoyed the women's friendship that forms in this book. By the end of the book I felt vested into all their lives.

I listened to the audiobook and have to say I almost gave up in the beginning as the story builds slowly and the voices weren't my favorite BUT I am so happy I stuck with it as it really was a good book. Not sure I would recommend the audio version of this though. I also think the author could have shortened the beginning of the book to make me give this book 4 stars instead of 3.

Big Littles Lies fans this one is definitely for you!

If you are a fan of momma drama, school drama, family drama, etc. then make sure you pick this one up!

The story centered around several different families that all had children attending the same school. Everyone is hiding something and these close friends may not know each other as well as they thought they did. Secrets start being revealed left and right as friendships and marriages are tested!

As far as the characters go, some were likable to me and some were downright unlikable! There was a fun mix of people to root for and people to...not root for. Overall, a fun and juicy read full of drama!

While I would have loved if the audiobook was a full-cast, Jesse Vilinsky is so talented and does SO many different voices well, that it almost seemed like it was recorded by a full-cast.

Mothers Anna, Maggie, and Rhea are part of the PTA and are in charge of a fundraising gala. Each of them has challenges in their own lives that the other doesn't know about. When they uncover some shocking information, they struggle with what they should do about it. This was definitely one I couldn't listening to to find out how it would all resolve.

Loved loved loved all of the leads in this book. The situations and drama felt real, and I was invested with them. Thank you so much for sharing their stories with us.

I really enjoyed this domestic thriller about secrets, lies, betrayals and unexpected friendship. Three women reluctantly work together on a school charity function and end up discovering some pretty damning information. They all have one thing in common; they fiercely love and want to protect their loved ones. I really liked how strong these women are and how their friendship and struggles were woven together. The POVs alternate between three mothers, who each harbor their own secrets. What links the three of them is one devastating scandal at their childrens’ school that they accidentally uncover when working together on a PTA project. They find themselves caught in a dilemma between the right thing to do, and the thing that will keep their lives in tact. Revealing the truth behind the scandal has the potential to tear their lives apart.

I wasn’t expecting this one to be as emotional as it was, and how emotional it made me feel. The three storylines, while very different, each grapple with deep and dark themes that make you question what you’d do if you were in that situation. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author now.

Things We Never Say is my first book by Caitlin Weaver and I really enjoyed it. This book is told from multiple points of view from Rhea, Anna, and Maggie who come together as volunteers for their children's private school gala. As the story unfolds, the three women become friends and secrets or events are revealed leaving everyone shocked.
This book had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what could possibly happen next. If you like domestic thrillers with a lot of drama, secrets, and lies..then this book is for you!

Absolutely loved this! Perfectly narrated! She made an engaging story even more in-put-downable. Told through three different women’s perspectives. Satisfying ending. Nobody truly has the perfect life but they do have each other.

The goods:
- I really loved Anna, Rhea, and Maggie. While all have their faults (and secrets), I really liked all of them.
- I thought the audiobook narrator was fantastic!
- I liked the number of plots you get in this book, it kept me engaged the entire time.
- The TWISTS in the book were insane to me. I predicted literally nothing.

The loss of a star:
- A major plot twist happens that is just never explained. And it continues to bug me even weeks after I finished the book, so I can't give it higher than.4 stars as I know it'll never be explained.

If you're looking for a mystery novel with older MCs and a found family trope, this is the next book for you!

This has been a good listen, although overall it was a bit predictable I still enjoyed the overall story.

There are quite a few characters which takes a while to figure out who’s who and how they all fit together.

With lots going on, the pace was quick and kept me listening.

For me this wasn’t anything special but a good story which kept me committed.

While the story does slow down at times, the character development is great. It’s hard not to feel for each women as they struggle with their lies and how much to share with each other.
What bounds these woman is the scandal they uncover while preparing for the gala and what to do with the information as it will affect them all.

Things We Never Say by Caitlin Weaver is a story about 3 friends, lots of secrets, and many lies. The points of view vary chapter by chapter and is told through the eyes of each of the 3 friends, all with their own lives, experiences, and struggles as they find themselves entangled in a scandal surrounding their children’s very prestigious private school. I found myself incredibly invested in the lives of Anna, Rhea, and Maggie and I couldn’t let this story go. The audiobook is superbly narrated by Jesse Vilinsky and it was just perfection- her intonation, emotion, accents, timing…it was all just absolutely amazing and brought this book to life. It blows my mind that this is only Caitlin Weaver’s second novel. I hope she keeps them coming because I am absolutely hooked. I’ve already sought out her first novel, Such a Good Family as my next read as I love her writing style. I experienced this story through the audiobook, narrated by the phenomenal Jesse Vilinsky, whose performance elevated the book even further. Her ability to breathe life into each character is astounding—her narration captures their emotions so vividly that you can feel their pain, frustration, and triumphs. Vilinsky’s talent kept me engaged through every twist and turn of this suspenseful, fast-paced novel.

Weaver’s storytelling excels at making the reader invested in each character’s life. She gives us a clear window into their individual struggles, creating a layered narrative filled with unexpected revelations and shocking twists. The characters are flawed and deeply human, which makes their journeys feel raw and authentic.

This was my first Caitlin Weaver book, but it certainly won’t be my last. This book is brimming with suspense, emotional depth, and an unflinching look at the complexities of relationships. Highly recommended for fans of domestic dramas with a dark, twisty edge.

WOW - I could not stop listening to this book! 3 main women characters Reya, Maggie and Anna and their respective kids/husbands. Essentially a story of an unlikely friendship and the support they give during some very hard times. The narrator was great!

Life isn't always what it seems in the perfect neighborhood. New friends keep the facade going as long as they can. We get a sneak peek into what goes on behind closed doors -- a secret, one-night-stand child, physical abuse, and infidelity rock this tight knit new group.

The author does a great job weaving the three storylines' back stories and current lives as one. Little by little, cracks start to crumble the houses and a beautiful revenge plot is formed. Everything reaches a climax at the end that I was not expecting. I truly enjoyed watching this all come down!!
