I just love this series! It's the epitome of cozy mystery with a great setting and a wonderful cast of characters. It can be read as a stand alone but would much more enjoyable after reading the previous books in the series.
The narration was great as always.
Thank you to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeMedia for a free copy of #IllBeHomeForMischief by Jacqueline Frost. All opinions are my own.
Julie is my favorite cozy mystery author. I have read some others in her cozy mystery series, the live and let chai series, and I just LOVE her writing. She has several pen names for different series, so Jaqueline Frost, is one of those!
This was my first in the Christmas series, and of coarse, it was adorable and I loved it!
I just love her writing, and the characters she creates. I will be going back to read the rest in this Christmas series.
This is the fifth book in the series, so I can’t disclose the relationships and too much about the characters. But the town is adorable, the names of everyone are Christmas themed. She has a cat named Cindy loo hoo 😍🎄, need I say more? All the Christmas vibes! I highly recommend reading this for Christmas time, I also used the audio, and it was great!
Thank you NetGalley for giving me this arc, in exchange for my honest review.
I’ll Be Home for Mischief is the fifth cozy mystery in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. It’s Christmas time once again in Mistletoe, Maine and with that comes murder. As the town celebrates its 150th anniversary and the descendants of the founding family are coming back to town. Holly is determined to make their visit as magical as possible, but when one of them turns up murdered all she can do is find the murderer before it’s too late.
I have been a fan of this series since the beginning and I’m always excited to see another mystery coming out. I love the town, the characters and the mysteries in these books and they have me coming back for me. Holly is the perfect lead for these books and I love how her family and friends fit into everything. I was hooked from the beginning of this mystery and was kept guessing until the very end. If you haven’t checked out this series yet and are a cozy mystery fan, there is no time like the present to fall in love with this series. I hope to see more in this series and will keep recommending this as a great holiday themed cozy mystery series.
Another delightful visit to Mistletoe, Maine, and an intriguing mystery that I did not figure out until the reveal. I love spending time with Holly and Evan and their people. The relationships among the regulars are heartwarming, and the character development does not disappoint. Readers get a little history of Mistletoe, and this book strikes the perfect balance between Christmas cheer and solid mystery. The only negative is that I must wait a year before visiting again. As per my usual, I strongly recommend that readers begin this series with Book 1 (Twelve Slays of Christmas) and read the books in order to enjoy the character development and better understand the various relationships. Merry Christmas, y'all!
Allyson Ryan does an excellent job of voicing these characters and bringing them to life.
First I’ve read from this author…and it was sweet and Christmasy and different!
This one takes place in Mistletoe, Maine.
Holly runs an Inn and is married to the local Sheriff (Evan). Her family is well known in town.
BUT…the town is starting to get a rep for the yearly MURDERS that seem to happen at Christmastime every year.
As Mistletoe is celebrating a landmark birthday, Holly’s Mom is trying to bring some cheer and lightness to the town, and so she decides to try to break the worlds record for the biggest gingerbread man… but of course things go epically wrong…and there’s another murder…
And. Although Holly has promised Evan NOT to get involved…well, she does, and her amateur sleuthing skills reappear…
And then the threats begin! 😮🫣
Small town vibes. Family supporting family. Communities banding together. And…Christmas!
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!
#IllBeHomeForMischief by #JacquelineFrost and narrated nicely by #AllysonRyan. This is part of a series, but can definitely be read as a standalone.
Thanks so much to #NetGalley and #DreamscapeMedia for an ARC of the audiobook which is due to be released in about TEN DAYS on 11/12/24! So, look 👀 for it then!!
