I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the way this book ended since I put it down. It took about 20% to pick up, but once it did it was fast paced and the twists kept coming. I cannot wait for the next installment!

I absolutely LOVE this series. I read the first two and had the honor of listening to the third Audio.
The Narrator does a wonderful job, her tone and infliction at engaging. While I prefer Duet narration she does a wonderful job going between characters.
Skyshade was such a back and forth pull of a love triangle, so much so that I felt the conflict the characters felt.
Grim shippers will be thrilled with this book as there is a lot of him!
I don’t want to reveal too much but this audio enhanced the read!

Well…dang…when is book 4 suppose to arrive?
I just flew through the 3 books out in the series and really wish it was a completed series.
Isla continues on her quest. We do get some answers and insight into her family back story which is very helpful, but it of course leaves on a cliffhanger (I have had worse/more intense ones, but still a loose end none the less).
I do enjoy that Oro and Grim both play such an integral role in the series…almost like they split the MMC role. I’m still leaning to a certain team when it comes to them, but I don’t want to sway anyone.
I feel like this series as a whole so far has had twists I didn’t see coming (even though I enjoy trying to pick up on clues as I read).
It will definitely be interesting to see how the series continues after the cliffhanger and how the characters continue.
I enjoyed Suzy Jackson as narrator too!

Ahhhh… leaving us on a cliff hanger like that. How could you Alex Aster.
This whole series I’ve tried not to read any spoilers and just enjoy the journey, hearing people both love and hate this series.
I’m an advocate for finishing what you started as it takes a long time to get a feel for a book and where it’s heading sometimes… this writing style was engaging and simple, making it easy to read, understand and follow throughout.
I enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope, love triangle… kill her and die vibes throughout the entire series.

I am very conflicted on this book. On one hand, I enjoyed how fast paced it was (even though I forgot a lot of the plot points -- whoops!). On the other hand, I felt like the plot was a little chaotic and all over the place (could also be because I didn't remember a lot from the prior book). I also felt like Isla was annoying AF and I don't like love triangles. I was definitely not expecting a cliffhanger ending either. I might continue in the series, but I clearly need to reread the first 3 books before I do lol

I loved this book so much. It was amazing! I loved how Isla grew as a character and that we got more backstory on her and some other characters. This also has so many twists I never saw coming. Thank you Netgally for letting me listen to it on audiobook. I can’t wait for the next one.

I can’t stop recommending the light lark saga. It has definitely been one of my favorite reads this year and I was desperate to read Skyshade , but was given the opportunity to do the Audiobook and I was pleasantly impressed. Loved the story and the narrator did a great job on this Audiobook.

“If waging a war for one woman is a crime then please do consider me a criminal.
If killing thousands to keep you alive is wrong then consider me a villain.
If loving you is my downfall then consider me already on my knees.”

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Mainly because I have heard SOO many mixed reviews. And though it did take me a while to finish, it was actually a fairly easy read and listen for me.
This book is a Grim lovers dream 💭
I ate that ish UP- ugh.
But truly wish this would’ve been the last book, I’m not sure of how much more I can do for this series 😅

I loved the first two books in this series and was ready for this one to wrap it up. Too many books in a live triangle can really get exhausting.

I enjoyed the first two books but this one fell a bit flat for me. At times it felt repetitive and Isla really annoyed me. I also think at this point the love triangle trope is overplayed, we are at the third book and now she has her memories back but there is still a love triangle?
Overall this was good and I will be reading the next one but it just felt a bit drawn out.
Grim stole the show for me!
I thought the narrator did an incredible job!
Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and RBmedia for the ALC..

4.75 ⭐️
I really liked this book! It definitely was not as high action and shocking as the first 2 books but I feel like everything in this book will be important to the storyline in future books.
I also appreciate Alex's ability to leave the absolute WORST cliffhangers at the end of all of her books. That being said, I cannot wait for the next book and hope I will be considered for the ARC for that as well.

I went in thinking that was going to be the final book, but the cliffhanger at the end 🤯 have no words! When is the next one out???

Sensational and jawdropping third installment! Alex Aster has crafted a creative and compelling magical world with electrifying characters, magnetic chemistry and creative plots to keep reasers hooked through the whole series!

Grim and Isla better be endgame. Like the love triangle feels forced at this point. I was team Oro for a good portion of books 1 & 2 but after the growth Isla and Grim have had together as a couple in this book I just don’t see how she’s still conflicted. Oro is a good man. He’s just not the man for Isla. I honestly hate that he still loves her ☹️ it makes me feel like his death is inevitable because we know she won’t fully let him go otherwise. The romance really carries this series though. Isla having more and more power in every book and being the special chosen one is getting old imo. I honestly wish this had been a three book series, especially since it seems every book is going to end on an emotional cliffhanger 🫠

I have been dying to read this installment in Alex Aster’s “Lightlark” universe since I finished the first two books over the summer! The audiobook was a great listen, and kept me company over a 12 hour road trip! I am Team Grim 100000% and I will die on that hill. I won’t spoil it but I don’t share Isla’s inability to make that decision. Sacrifices must be made hahah! I won’t lie, I wish this wrapped up the series but 2 more books are coming next year. So I will trust Alex!

I found this series at the beginning of summer this year and I looove the storyline. Amazing plot and this third installment was also so good!

Having to wait even longer to see with Team Grim or Team ORo comes out of top is killing me! Another chapter in the story that gives us quests, love, angst, and hope. Waiting for Grim’s story next.

2.5 I wanted to like this SO bad. It felt like the love triangle was forced, and Isla was giving me whiplash. The dream sent me. I have faith that Alex will pull it all together in book 4!

I was expecting something more. The love triangle in this book had my head spinning. The ending left me wanting more! But the narrator did amazing!

Thank you NetGalley and RBMedia for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
It was a slow start but even though I’d missed the first two books I got really into it, you just have to push through a bit at the start cause it truly is worth it. I’d say after the 50% mark is where all the good stuff is , if you’re more into the action though the first 50% really is necessary figuring stuff out time. I definitely think I would have enjoyed the whole book more if I’d read the previous ones cause I wasn’t connected to the characters however the unique plot and action really wins me over. I love it so much. I can’t wait to read book 1 to future book 4 !!
I'll be publishing my review on Goodreads and StoryGraph 28th December and on Tik tok most likely will add to a monthly wrap up post with review the beginning of January
