This is a heartfelt memoir about the death of Chantal's father. Having lost my own father I cried my way through portions of this book. Chantal shares her raw, honest emotions and it might sound strange to find comfort in another person's loss, but that is how I felt as I read her thoughts. I felt a kinship in knowing I am not alone in my grief, and I am thankful Chantal chose to write this memoir. Their are beautiful poems at the beginning and end of the book I believe she wrote, although it doesn't say. I will be holding onto these to refer back to. There is reference to a prior book by Chantal, but you do not need to have read it to enjoy this memoir.

Thank you for the ARC provided by Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the e-copy! This was a short memoir about the authors loss of her father. It highlighted that while their relationship wasn’t perfect, there was a lot of love there. Heavy topic to read about.
