I think I’m going to need to go to therapy after finishing this one 🥲hahah. What a bittersweet ending to a fun YA fantasy! I was somehow lucky enough to receive an ARC box for the first book, The Liar’s Crown, and from then on I was obsessed!

In good fantasies (at least the ones I care about) you always end up losing some of the best characters, since there’s always inevitably some sort of battle and in battles people pass on to the other side.. but why didn’t not foresee this coming in The Shadows Rule All?! Like I know that is what makes me care more but my heart is still tender and it hurts okay!! lol

There is an upside to all of this.. it’s a completed trilogy!! So if you were looking for your next fantasy series to dive into and you don’t want to wait on cliffhangers… pick up the Dominions series!!

4.5 stars

Cain 😭 my favorite characters ALWAYS die. I feel responsible for him.

At least the sand devourer thing got his happy ending.

At the beginning I was worried I wouldn't like this one. Meren is a strong female character and after a few days with the shadows she begged to get them out, saying she cant do it anymore? Reven carried all the shadows for a long time and I just feel like her character wouldnt have been that quick to want a part of him out especially since she thought he was gone forever... And then when the shadows fought her friends and were more powerful they act surprised 🤔 ya'll didn't know how dangerous they were?!!

A fine conclusiong to a fast paced action-packed romantasy with lot's of magic and adventure. I really enjoyed the first book, but the second one was a little to chaotic for my taste. How ever, the ending and the storyline in book three was intriging.
A thanks to NetGalley for the audiobook ARC.

The Liar's Crown ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a wonderful ending to the Dominion Trilogy. I felt like this book focused a lot on Meren and Reven's relationship which was actually my favorite part. I loved how she didn't try to force Reven to do anything that he was uncomfortable with and gave him time to cope with things on his own despite how much it probably hurt her to do so.

Meren is such a strong FMC throughout everything that she is enduring. I can't imagine how hard some of the struggles must have been for her. Between her relationship with Reven, her relationship with her friends/sister, and her battles with her inner demons (shadows). There is a lot to unpack and she manages to stay the strong Queen that she is.

Eidolon did exactly what an antagonist should. He made me dislike him more and more as the story went on. The things he does are unforgivable and have such an impact on other characters. This was a lovely read, and I truly enjoyed it! Thank you to Netgalley, RBmedia, and Abigail Owen for an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion.

This novel was the perfect end to the series and I loved the narrators for audiobook. This novel has even more twist and turns the. The first two books in the Dominion series and brought all of the feelings. The story telling from Abigail is beautiful, the pace is fantastic and the narrators add a fantastic level of intensity. I loved this series and the beautiful development of the characters. The relationship between Meren and Reven is anxiety ridden and destined in this book and absolutely beautiful. This final novel is a beautiful end to the series however I would completely welcome more ❤️

Thank you Entangled Publishing and Abigail Owens or providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

5 ⭐️ Read!

This book is everything I expected it to be from start to end! I love this series I read the first book before not knowing much about it I fell in love with the story of what’s happening, how it’s told and everything else’s in between. Now this one… it takes everything to a whole another level and I mean that in a positive way 😍

There’s no way you can read the one on its own you must read the other books in order to get to this one to fully enjoy it and understand it. The characters are amazingly written there’s so much growth within the story for each character. The ending is perfect it had me crying at the end with both happy and sad tears

The audio is done very beautifully I enjoyed the adventure it took me on from start to end the narrators are amazing they captured this perfectly.

This is a perfect book/series for anyone who’s into fantasy and romance. I enjoyed this even with the emotional damage I experienced lol I would recommend this to anyone who’s into both genres fantasy and romance

This ARC/Book will forever be in my heart along with some others I had the pleasure of listening to and reading this year.

Special Thank you to NetGalley, the author Abigail Owen, and the publisher RBmedia for making this opportunity possible for me to be an ARC listener for this audiobook 😍🩷

I probably should have done a reread before jumping into the final book in a trilogy, but I live in chaos.
Without having revisited the first two books it did take a little while to figure out what I had forgotten and reanimate myself in the story.
Once my brain began functioning again this ended up being everything I could have hoped for in the end of a series I love!
Many new layers added into the established story and I was here for it!
I am geeked to do a full reread of the series and see if anything changes when the plot is fresh in my mind.
Much love to NetGalley & RBmedia for my ALC!

This was a great ending to this series. I loved the first book, but was not impressed with book two. Book three was all things good about a trilogy.

What an ending. This one tore my heart out! And had my tears flowing. There were several surprises. A betrayal. Or two. And an HEA. Have your tissue ready. The perfect way to end Reven and Meren’s story. And Eidolon’s. I love this series. And I love the narrator for the audiobook. The way the narrator kept the flow of the storyline going was excellent. As was the use of characters voices. She quickly became one of my favorite narrators. The inflection in her voice when she was reading Meren matched Meren’s personality perfectly. Great series. Great audiobook.

Wow, soo good! I love the way this author writes!
I did make a mistake though, I did not realize when I started reading this book that it was part of a series. So while the book did make sense I think I would have done better with the storyline if I had started with the first book.
Showing an abundance of love and determination this book makes your heart bleed. You feel for the characters through their faith and hope as they trudge on. Meren is prepared to stand and fight, she's ready for it. She must fight for her life, and she's giving it everything she has! I hated seeing Meren going through everything she did, seeing the person she loved the most being ripped away from her was tough! This was epic and I now have the whole series on my TBR because I want to know the history!
I was given the audiobook to listen to and review by Netgalley and RB Media and I am not hooked on the series and have to know all about it! Quickly moving to my next obsession until the next book in The Games Gods Play comes out! Thank you for the opportunity to listen and review it the narrarator was perfect for the book, I loved it!

Excuse me. I’ll be in the fetal position for the weekend after finishing this series.

Thank you NetGalley and RBMedia for this ALC.

Samara Naeymi and Luis Moreno were spectacular story tellers.

This series. Wow. This ending. My heart is questioning how to continue. Meren and Reven. I love them.

Thank you Netgalley, Entangled teen and RB Media!

Meren is struggling severely with the fact that Raven has been taken from her. She also has to save the Dominion that's about to be taken over by her enemy Eidolon.

Needless to say I will forever be a fan of Abigail Owen!
She writes the most fantastical and mind blowing books ever. This would be my fourth book I have read and it did not disappoint in the least bit.

This was an amazing ending to a thrilling trilogy. You have multiple side missions to bring all the amulets together and release the goddesses from there entrapments. Also so many obstacles that left everyone in so much danger with every page flip. It was excruciating but left me wanting to pick up the audio book and the book constantly.

All fantasy lover will adore this series and especially this book it was my personal favorite of the three with an a creative magic system that will leave you in shock and in awe of every chapter.

I will miss this world!

An addicting read filled with shadows and fantasy. This one was a nail biter and the epic battles had me on the edge of my seat several times. I honestly didn't know how the author was going to end the Dominions series, but it was all wrapped up nicely. Don't let that sentence fool you. There's lots of action and nail biting scenes!
The narrator, Samara Naeymi, was great. I feel like she portrays Meren very well. The tones and inflections were well done, and I was able to distinguish many of the characters.

Received an ARC Audiobook, from NetGalley. Let me tell ya I was so stoked to be accepted for this.

The Dominion Series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order:
Bk1: The Liar’s Crown
Bk2: The Stolen Throne
Bk3: The Shadows Rule All

This is the 3rd and finale installment of this series and oh my gosh what a wild ride!! This book was definitely action packed and had my heart racing in all kind of ways!

This was the best book and a perfect conclusion to this series. You have political intrigue, you have romance and bonded mates, you have ancient creatures and goddesses, you have an all out epic battle between good and evil, you have betrayal after betrayal, you have painful, gut wrenching lost. And. I. Ate. This. Up. 👏🏻

We last left off after the events in The Stolen Throne and some time has passed and everyone is gearing up to fight the big bad. With Meren now having the evil shadows inside her whispering to her their intrusive thoughts, she now has yet another battle to fight - within herself to contain them.

I felt like it took some time for their plans to take shape but there were plenty of things going on that kept me engaged. Even the side characters played a big part of everything and it was coming together. Although it seemed like every decision they made seem to backfire and left them in constant peril, had me in constant fear something awful was going to happen.

I enjoyed that this story wasn’t an all happy, everything goes peachy story and it made it more real for me. With all epic fantasy wars and battles, there are always consequences and collateral damage. Take that as you will.

Reven and Meren’s situationship especially had me. I was in a constant will they, won’t they mindset. Where I was planning to throw my phone across the room if it didn’t end in a HEA for them. But I was in constant heartache for them! The tension and angst was definitely palpable for me.

The ending had me tearing up for sure and I will leave it at that!

The narration of the audiobook was amazing. Though I wished it was a duet. It was told mostly through Meren’s POV and the voice fit Meren so well it was just hard to differentiate between the male characters the voice actor did for them. The male voice actor only made an appearance as a glimpse of Reven’s past in the beginning.

Thank you Netgalley for the audiobook arc of this book. I have waited a year to read this book and it did not disappoint. A fantastic ending to the trilogy, but my heart still aches for the characters that were lost along the way. The narrators did a great job with the story bringing the characters to life for the final installment of the series.

Following the false princess one more time and she gathers an army to fight to reclaim her city and to put her sister back on the throne, while trying to get Rev back along with his memories.

This book was such a great end to the Dominions trilogy. I had the fortune of meeting Abigail at Imaginarium Book Festival earlier this year, and when I asked about this final book she pretty much warned me their would be more obstacles ahead, but that everything would come together. True to her word, the characters face many more obstacles in this book, but the ending is well worth it!

This book gives us more answers, spice, and action! There were so many moments where I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next, how this story would actually end, and if my fave characters would make it to the end.

I really enjoyed reading this entire series, but the The Shadows Rule All is my favorite out of all three books. I'm sad this story is over, but it was such a good one!

Book 3 is just as incredible as the prior two -- I can't believe this series is over! This was an impeccable ending to a journey that has been fast paced throughout. When I read The Liar's Crown I was struck by the uniqueness of this series (shadows?! Twin queens?!) and Owen has carried those unique elements all the way through to this ending. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

The Shadows Rule All by Abigail Owen is such a good book! The audiobook is fantastic! I recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good and the characters are fantastic.

I listened to an ARC audiobook copy of this book. The female narrator, Samara Naeymi, did an amazing job. She has such a great voice for audio and her infections are perfect. It was very calming listening to her. I did not, however, care for the male narrator, Luis Moreno, though but he doesn’t appear throughout the book much anyhow, so I guess that’s okay.

The narrator alone would make me want to listen to more books by this author. The storyline was so intriguing and keeps your interest. There’s a lot of world building going on which can be overwhelming but she does a great job writing it so the reader can understand. I can’t wait to read the th Games Gods Play by her next.

Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for giving me an advanced listener copy to enjoy!
