Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC of this novel.

I absolutely DEVOURED this series and this was such a strong ending.

This is packed with so much action, multiple different subplots (that all conclude!!!), and so many emotional moments. I haven't felt this satisfied with a series ending in a while.

One thing that stuck out to me was that Abigail Owens isn't afraid to kill off her main characters. Don't get me wrong, I was going through it at the time, but it made for such an impactful story.

The world building in this series was amazing throughout. Even in the final book we still were getting expanded lore! It really added so much to the story and made it feel so immersive.

The audiobooks are an excellent way to enjoy this series. The narrators were wonderful. I especially enjoyed Samara Naeymi's ability to voice male characters. Those who listen to audio frequently know that isn't a super common find among narrators! I wish that Luis Moreno had a bit more of an active role in the narration because he did add value to the listening experience.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series and have already started bugging my friends to read it! Easy 5 stars!

This was a great conclusion to the series. I really enjoyed seeing where the story went and what happened to each of the characters. Meren was strong throughout the series and I enjoyed seeing her overcome the things she did. The story was fast paced and kept me intrigued.

Absolutely loved this book! It was a perfect conclusion to the series and kept me engaged through its entirety! The premise of the morally gray shadow daddy was unique and as usual, I am a huge fan of enemies to lovers! Abigail did an amazing job with the world building and magic system! he narration was amazing! I felt the emotion, joy, angst and fear of the characters. I have to say Luis Moreno and Samara Naeymi did an amazing job!

3.5 stars. Thanks so much to netgalley for the ARC. I unfortunately did not get to review it in time. But Better late than never!

This series was an interesting story. I really liked the main love story that happened in this book. There was a memory loss that they had to overcome and I liked how they point out. I liked how practical the fmc was and at some points, I would question something and say something like: "why would you do that?" And then moments later the fmc would literally say "why would I do that?" So I loved how self aware they were about their silly actions they did sometimes. But pretty great overall. A solid 3.5 series through and through. I appreciate the consistency! The love story, like I said, was so nice. But more than that, It was really really sweet. I kind of rolled my eyes about it sometimes in the first book but by the 2nd I would super into it and by the 3rd I was really worried for them and wanted them to work out.
The 1st 2 books I had so many questions. Book 3 gave me all of the answers and they exceeded my expectations so that was perfect!

What can I say Abigail Owen has knocked it out of the park again for me. This will be the 3rd series I have read by her and loved! Abigail is now a auto buy for me. This being the 3rd book in the series I cant give to much detail but From the very beginning I have been in love with the magic, plot, romance and the journey. I cried, I laughed and I feared for the MC's. This book was a little more YA then I was excepting but that didn't take away from the story in anyway. I am just said the story is over.

A Breathtaking Finale to a Phenomenal Series. The Shadows Rule All delivers a masterful blend of danger, action, and heart-pounding romance, cementing Abigail Owen’s Dominions trilogy as a standout in the fantasy genre. Picking up right where The Stolen Throne left off, this book raises the stakes higher than ever, darker than ever, bloodier than ever, and more intense than its predecessors. I absolutely loved this. From the very first page, I was on edge, fearing for my favourite characters and anxiously wondering how they would survive the chaos. Owen has a ruthless ability to shatter her readers with unexpected deaths and betrayals, and she did just that.

One of the book’s greatest strengths is its world-building. Owen crafts an immersive, vividly detailed realm filled with rich lore, intricate magic, and breathtaking landscapes. Believe me when I say, I truly wanted to live in this world. Beyond that, the character development across the entire trilogy is phenomenal. Meren’s transformation from a hidden princess to a formidable leader is deeply compelling and inspiring. I also adored the way relationships were explored, not just the romantic ones, but the many layers of love and loyalty between various characters. The dynamics between Vos and Tziah, Cain and Meren, Horus and Meren, and even Pella and Meren were beautifully written and emotionally resonant. I especially appreciated getting more of Eidolon’s backstory this time around.

If I had one critique, it would be the pacing. While the book maintains strong momentum, the middle section slows down slightly due to some overly detailed internal monologues (a challenge that the second book also faced). Additionally, a few plot twists felt somewhat predictable, which lessened the suspense in certain moments. However, the ending more than makes up for it. It delivers a satisfying and emotionally charged conclusion while leaving just enough room for interpretation.

A special mention must go to the audiobook narration by Luis Moreno and Samara Naeymi. Their expressive, emotionally rich performances made the story even more engaging. Their voices complemented each other perfectly, and I found myself completely absorbed, able to listen for hours on end. Their chemistry truly elevated the experience, making an already fantastic book even better.

Saying goodbye to this world is bittersweet and I will miss it immensely. Abigail Owen has crafted something truly special with this series, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and to Recorded Books and NetGalley for the advance listening copy.

Thank you to the author, NetGalley, & RBMedia for the AudioARC in return for an honest review!!

I have been on this journey with this series from day one> I wasn't exactly a fan of how "The Stolen Throne" ended, but I am an all in sort of reader and I can't help rooting for this epic love tale. From the start of "The Shadows Rule All" I was entranced. I spent far too many consecutive nights without sleep and it was all worth the deprivation. Oh my heart!!!

The characters are brilliantly written. The reader can't help but become trapped in this cycle as time and time again the MFC must overcome one hurdle after the next. I love the narrators and their ability to capture the true voices of these characters and bring the reader into the unfolding story. The world building is perfection and if you are ready read a story that you are going to want to read over and over throughout the years, and to grace your cherished books section of your at home library, then you have to start with "The Liar's Crown" and buckle your seatbelt because you won't be seen in public until the last page of Shadows.

HIGHLY recommend!

I listened to the audiobook and the narration was good. The way the characters were well created I was sucked into the story and everything happening I felt for them emotionally. This was a great YA series and I would definitely recommend this and have the book in our school library.
Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Teen for the opportunity to listen to NetGalley for the preview.

Thank you to NetGalley for sending me a copy.
Full disclosure, I did not read books 1 & 2, but this book was still enjoyable. The characters remember or tell stories about past events so the reader is caught up and what they need to know about this world and its characters.
This is a high fantasy with new magic I haven't seen anywhere else, with star cross lovers who are bonded together across lifetimes and have to find each other again and fall in love again.
Mild steamy romance makes this story just spicy enough to be interesting but, in my opinion, still appropriate for 16 and up.
The main character didn't seem to have a real good story arc. Maybe because it was the third book, but to me she didn't seem to have a lot of character growth. She seemed like she stayed the same person who just did different things. She learned new magic and did a lot but still doubted herself and seemwd to struggle being a leader.

Meren fight with all she has to save her bond partner and to saver her dominion either her friends. She awakens and realizes the goddesses with her sisters help but at a cost.

It is heart breaking when she loses everything. Her friends just to save her world and to get her bond partner back.

The goddess relieves her of the cures after she saves everything. Despite losing her closest friend she moves on.

4 1/2 stars

This book was a perfect completion to this trilogy. It had a great deal of action and there was a lot of back and forth where you couldn't exactly tell how the storyline was going to resolve itself. It had a very well thought out plot and creative characters. I enjoyed this entire series.

In this book, Meren and Raven have a difficult time being together. They have struggles that often lead them to deal with things separately. For this reason, I was anxious that they wouldn't end up together in the end. There were so many odds stacked against them that it was often difficult to see how it would work out. But the characters in this book are hardy and dedicated to one another and they pull together and make it happen. They devise a plan to rid themselves of the enemy and it takes a toll on them all but they will succeed.

Well done Ms. Owen. I loved this book - - actually the entire trilogy and will miss the storyline and characters.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I also listened to the audiobook and it was well done too. The narration was very fitting for the characters and kept me involved in the storyline. 4 stars

Thank you to NetGalley for early copies of both the ebook and audiobook.

The Shadows Rule All is the third and final installment in the Dominions series. After reading the first two books, they were enjoyable, but nothing really grabbed my full attention. However, Abigail Owen really knocked it out of the park with this one. It was non-stop from start to finish and the ending really showed that there was no plot armor.

I mean, really Abigail, <spoiler> you couldn't make Cain happy so you killed him instead? I was really hopeful for a happy ending for the boy that showed loyalty and wanting what was best for Meren but we couldn't have that now could we. Don't even get me started on the others :( </spoiler>. You really said "no one is safe".

The relationship between Meren and Reven kept me on the edge of me seat. It was nice to see the two reunite but of course, it didn't come without it's challenges, on top of everything else going on. Meren was such a good FMC throughout all of the books. She was strong and brave and didn't stop when things got rough, no matter what happened. All of the other characters were great support characters and I'm glad that there was a Happily Every After..... for the most part. It was great to see the ending of this long, adventure.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was so good. They did a great job with accurately portraying the emotions of the characters in every scene. I highly recommend this book and can even see myself revisiting this series in the future.
