Wow! What a different direction for this amazing author. Time travel is definitely not my thing, but this book could change my mind.

We start in Paris France during the Revolution, and somehow end up in England in 1873. Our heroine is a traitor to the Revolution, she helps people escape France so they can live. As she tries to escape from France she is swept forward in time. There she meets some wonderful people who care for her and help her heal.

But danger still lurks and family dynamics abound, with a few plot twists to keep us on our toes.

This is a fun story, with great characters, and interesting plot lines.

Sarah M Eden is changing directions with a time travel novel. Lili Monet has helped several people escape the gullitine and needs to find her way out of France. When a bad storm pulls her eighty years into the future, she is perplexed about how she arrived at a lighthouse near the sea and quickly befriends the owners of the lighthouse. As things unfold, she realizes the storm and a green light in the midst of the sea are what push her through the tides of time and once again ride the tides of time. There is quite a bit of French mixed in with English but it is all apart of the feelings surrounding the time period and it didn't bother me, I only mentioned it because of another review that I read.

I really wanted it enjoy this story. The premise and setting are interesting. However, I couldn't get past the way the author used the characters language barriers. It's one thing to understand the characters speak an entirely different language and another to have that language painstakingly spelled out word for word. The dialectic of the lighthouse keeper was especially hard to read.
